Ah but Shira, that's what makes the example so fun!
I know if I was RPing a 100% sane character, i would turn around and the gates and just walk away. No way in hell would a sane person want to live here.
I mean, look at the few people in the village that are supposed to be sane. They all went crazy just to fit in! Sadly, their crazy is more of the suicidal type, but still!

Karo is probably sane. Probably. Don't know. Do know he is completely uncaring as to whether or not he gets hurt, not exactly suicidal.
Kind of like David, except that he isn't blunt and uncaring about people's feelings.

Oh, David cares about his own well being. He would never do anything 100% guaranteed to get him killed. Attack a giant world destroying monster? Why not, he'll just leave if it turns out to be impossible. Jump off a cliff into a pit of spikes? Sure, wouldn't do much to him anyways. Bathe in acid? What the hell? No way!
