After I sold my letter, I still got random scam PMs, and wondered how they knew I had anything worthwhile.
Since they changed the name, I'd assume they also tried to change the email address. If you haven't already, try a password recovery or something. If you can at all access the account, your trade history would show who's responsible.

Yeah, I thought so. They changed your name so to make it harder to let you log in, so they were undoubtedly smart enough to be thorough there.
Maybe inform a mod. IIRC, unless this was at some other site ( I forgot, so I dunno for sure ) they can tell if an account used to have a name prior to a change.
This would be even less likely to succeed, but maybe that can produce some kinda result.

I sent in an official report, and pmed a few mods, so we'll see if anything pans out... I'm not too hopeful, but maybe I'll get some of my stuff back.

I want Gaia's admins to state that, now that real money is involved with Gaia, like with Gaia Cash being bought with real money, that hacking a Gaia account can be brought to court as a legitimate theft.
Even if they really couldn't, the threat of it may be intimidating enough to stop this BS from happening.

It's a nice idea, Angel. But, alas, even the most determined thieves tend to disregard a thing like the law. ._.

Des Voh --~-- Gaia is becoming over-extended. --~-- Yes. The mods are pretty understaffed, which is another issue that tends to crop up a lot in Site Feedback.

Yeah. That's probably why they invited people to apply for modship a few months back... I wonder if the offer still stands?

Yeah, I remember seeing a thread somewhere that a person was complaining about slow issue handling, and one person replied saying that they had filed a report on a certain issue and it wasn't resolved until 18 months later.
The only thing with more BS that I've seen beyond that was what wikipedia explains as to how a pardon works in the USA. If it's accurate, it's the most BS thing in the law.
For example:
You're convicted of treason, and sentenced to death. You're offered a pardon. If you accept it, while that means you will be freed from any sentence involved, it counts as a confession to the crime.

That is rather stupid. ._.
But yes. As it currently stands, the ratio is like one mod to 1,000 users. O_o With that said, the mods are grossly understaffed.
