-Dessynea- Shiny Gligar -Dessynea- Shiny Gligar Owwin -Dessynea- I don't know, though really only myself and maybe one or two other kids seemed to have a problem with what was happening. Everyone else was having a great time. My teacher is well-liked. Perhaps it was staged? It is philosophy right? Maybe it was a way to look at how some of the students acted?
Yeah, I'm thinking it was more about what Owwin said. I bet anything, tomorrow, you guys will look at how some people will easily go with instructions to ridicule people they don't know.
Why didn't any of them question what they were doing? Why did (it seems) so many of them enjoy mocking a guest speaker? Why didn't the people, (like you) say anything during the class or ask how the hell it was supposed to help?
Pretty sure this exorcise was a trick.
If it isn't, make it one tomorrow. Ask her/him how that contributed to learning about philosophy. Just, ask questions about it, you know?
People enjoyed mocking him because A) They are spoiled rich kids, and B) Because it made them feel superior and like they were making our teacher proud because he told us to question him.
I didn't say anything because out of 60 kid and 10 adults, I wasn't sure if I was the only person feeling this way. And I don't want to be mocked for the rest of the semester.
Having him come in does make sense if you knew what we have been discussing during the class.
I am a psychology major you know, I had thought about this, and this wasn't just an exercise.
Your teacher seems like an ignorant ********. "I don't believe in what this guy has to say, for the next class, we're just going to make fun of him."
If it didn't serve to make a damn point, what the ******** was the purpose? For lulz?
I really do hate this guy, he is the primary adviser for the Philosophy Department and if you aren't a philosophy major then you aren't even worth talking to. He doesn't return our e-mails, and if someone who isn't one of his majors tries to talk to him after class he ignores them unless they stand there for ten minutes.
I hate pretentious asswipes like that. mad Someone should remind him that he's just a Philosophy professor. He's not like, a Psychology teacher, or a math teacher or anything like that.
I always attribute that sort of class to the kind where you ask questions about mankind and the theologies and things like that. You know, maturity. Sounds like you got stuck with an immature manchild.
How do you become a philosophy teacher if you're not open minded?

Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in hell to stay the same, the ratio of the mass of souls and volume needs to stay constant. Two options exist: 1. If hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until hell freezes over. So which is it? If we accept the quote given to me by Theresa Manyan during Freshman year, "that it will be a cold night in hell before I sleep with you" and take into account the fact that I still have NOT succeeded in having sexual relations with her, then Option 2 cannot be true...Thus, hell is exothermic." Make this kid valedictorian! Oh my God! XDDDD

Anyway, we are going to watch some House (yes, we have a bit of a problem), and then go out to dinner, and then go to Walmart for birthday presents. Hopefully we can get home before eleven, if it looks like we won't have time then we will come home before we go to Walmart.
