OK kid here's the deal. All UNSC forces were withdrawn from the surface of New Harmony and sent to Portia because there were NO insurrectionists on the Moon. The Insurrection is being strictly contained and there is absolutely no way for it to spread any further. All UNSC personnel are required to comply with hightened security measures and their personel IFF transponders are not contained within their armor. The IFF transponder is contained within the standard issue UNSC neural implant. Not something you can fake. In addition to that, Insurrectionists disguised as UNSC personnel wouldn't just jump a random Marine. The Insurrectionists aren't just brainless enemies, despite how they are depicted. If they had any operatives skilled enough to get onto Porita with the UNSC garrison, they wouldn't blow their cover by randomly attacking a Marine without any authority. They would destroy a vehicle depot, an ammo dump, or kill an officer crutial to the campaign against the UNSC.
As for Brute intelligence, you are very right. Brutes are smart. However, they aren't capable of any extraplanetary war. The Elites DO have the ability to canvas the Galaxy. You have to remember that it's the Elites who won, not the Brutes. The only remaining Brute Packs are few and far between. Their greatest numbers were around the Ark, protecting the Prophet of Truth. The remaining Covenant loyalist ships were hunted down by a rebuilt Elite military. The Elites have the Covenant ships. The Elites know how to use the Covenant ships. The Elites also have the Engineers on their side. Not to mention the fact that every Covenant ship has a luminary installed. A luminary is a device which Identifies Forerunner technology and/or relics. Seing as how all Covenant tech is based on Forerunner tech, with a simple modification, the luminaries could be revised to search for Covenant technology.
Now as for being able to edit your posts. It's not my responsibility to write your posts for you. If you've got an error that is simple, I will let you know via a private message. However, what you did, was unacceptable. You posted something ridiculous here, and did not wait for any one of us to approve the idea before enacting it. On top of that, you are skipping ahead in time, which is not acceptable unless it is approved by all parties involved. In other words, you should be grateful that I haven't banned you for godmodding yet. Continue with this beligerent attitude and I will ban you for failure to comply with very basic rules that were put in place to ensure a role play environment that both adheres to the established canon and also allows us to tell our own story.
I understand your argument, I really do. But you have to accept that you are breaking guild rules. These rules apply to all members of the guild. If any other person were to do what you did, I would deal with them in exactly the same way. However you are not helping yourself with the "stupid rule" defense. If the rules are so disagreeable to you, I suggest that you leave with dignity rather than receive a ban for repeated offenses.

Oh yes, Elites can search ever square inch of the Galaxy in 8 years? I don't find that believable.
Tartarus from Halo 2 seemed to understand Truth's plan completely and was able to almost complete it without fail, if it wasn't for, Commander Keyes, Sergeant Major Johnston and Arbiter.
And if firing a gun at someone's head at close range god modding, especially when its a professional sniper who can handle pressure, then what?
And yeah, time thing was probably not cool, but I had writers block and needed to skip...

Again ZNK, the Elites are more than capable of finding something they need to find. Similar to the way they found Harvest, and any human colony for that matter, they could find Brute ones as well via their ship's Luminary.
Also, I don't believe we addressed shooting someone as god modding, in fact, putting a bullet in someone's brain at point blank range is awesome. Nothing looks better decorating a war zone than splattered cranial matter.
The issue with god modding was indeed your time skip. If you in fact had writers block you could have waited for someone else to post or to come up with an idea that was both canon in the HALO world and the HTRP world that didn't involve jumping forward through time an hour.

Yeah, they happen in stories and RPs that don't really have an idea as to where they are going. Here in HTRP we do, so doing a time skip normally screws up the plans. Don't take it too personally, we're just trying to keep things on track.

Well, could be. Or he just wants to see blood in some form. Maybe we could organize some butcher-work at the local meat-producer's?
