Lollipop Fiend Michael Noire always begin by doing a search on the file extension. some burning programs specialize in certain file types, while others have different priorities, video game companies each have different file types. Some are also encrypted. The best thing to do therefore is to thoroughly research your file type, and then find a burning program that is sufficiently bowdy to handle it. Those programs will then have monstrous interfaces, which you should browse around for a while, and let the glare of too many options fade away, then it should be fairly obvious how it works. If you see an option you don't recognize, don't hesitate to look it up. Expect to look up 2 or three terms before burning your first disk, and make sure you have a back up disk in case you screw up the first. I don't know what you're talking about. It's an image file, no need to do research on it. o_O Is there anyone who knows what they're talking about? crying I know a bit; I copy and burn files all the time. I don't know about any other programs, but Toast is pretty easy to use. It's got a section for ISO's. It'll burn it as an image which should play, as long as the DVD player is capable of playing the file. edit: sorry, forgot that Toast is mac-exclusive...hmm...*goes to research* double edit: if you've got disc burning software, you should be able to find an option that says "Burn Image to Disc". Everything should go smoothly from there. triple edit: looked back at your other posts, not really sure what you are asking for. A burned image will only play if the DVD is capable of playing the file. If it's not, like with a game or something, nothing will happen, and there's nothing you can do about it.

Lollipop Fiend Anyone know how to burn an ISO image to a DVD so it can play in a DVD player? Just Google "Burn ISO image to DVD." Bound to be a program that does it.

I would imagine that most burn software works the same way; Mine, I just select the type (Data-ISO), then insert the CD/DVD and burn it. Always works fine for me. Honestly, I don't know why you needed a special option when burning a CD. Whether it will play or not depends on the players capabilites. What exactly are you trying to burn? Not "an image file/ISO", the specific program/file whatever. Or if you don't want to reveal that, is it a DVD, a game, a program?

It's a movie that was ripped from a DVD and made into an image file. Normally not a problem since I just use Daemon tools to play, but my friend won't have a computer in the room he plans to work out in so he needs them on DVD.
But yeah, I remember before DVDs were the thing for PCs you had to burn AVIs or MPGs to CDs as like an SVCD or something retarded. I think my older version of Nero still has the option. Pretty much it's the same thing as having to burn an audio CD as an audio CD and not a data CD so the player would play it back.
I know how to burn bootable ISOs for PCs and stuff np, but I wasn't too sure if I had to do something extra to get an ISO movie to play on a DVD player like you had to do for CDs. .

*nods* ok, you should be fine then. And yeah, I know what you're talking about now, with the option thing. But it shouldn't have to be dealt with for this. Then again, your mileage may vary depending on your software and dvd player, I'm just going by what I know.
And with that, it's 2am for me, I'm heading off to bed. Night all!
edit: and since you said you know about burning, I'm just making a precautionary statement. This will only work if you are actually burning the file to the dvd, and not just copying it on there. Figured you'd know the difference, but one can never be too careful in making sure they're not yelled at later XD
