3.14 Streamjumper Zero Omega I wish there was a place I could head over to to meet some small/big bands. I think, if I were to meet another band, I'd still be nervous but finally ease up on it. I'm surprised a lot of bands aren't so pretentious. Check the papers for some small underage or all ages venues. Forget the regular papers, go with the small presses. Either check your area's alternative press (here its the Springfield Advocate, in Providence its the Phoenix) or go to a few small record stores and grab some zines or flyers for shows. What you're looking for is small local bands to go check out. When I saw many of these groups they were still up and coming or still mostly underground. There is a venue here that is a run down bowling alley. It's so great...the celing is literally held together with duct tape. One of the places I hit a few times (forget the goddamn name) in Rhode Island was a semifunctional bowling alley. The stage (really just a few riser boxes) was in the middle few alleys and you could bowl in the alleys on either side of it. It was a bit of a dive, but aren't all the best places to catch a show?

I still haven't slept since Saturday night. sweatdrop I'd go nap, but then I won't be able to sleep tonight. Of course, with my luck, I still won't be able to sleep. And then I'll be extra tired.
