A part of me felt like I was making excuses for kibble (clearly visible components from the other mode), but in the end I like the toy either way.
today, I traded in a few . . . thousand . . . Yu-Gi-Oh cards to a game store, and traded them for a brand new copy of the Covenant of Primus . . . I am very happy. Got rid of clutter that I didn't want, and in turn got something I have been craving! 4laugh

Which is really all that matters, since that's all a toy/model is for in the first place.
Awesome! So CoP that's like the TF bible, right? Sadly, YGO is turning into MTG w/ how over-wrought it is.

I wouldn't go as far as to say the Bible. It is more a compilation of their history. Not a matter of faith, but a matter of the official history and lore. I've read only a little thus far- the creation of their aspects for good (Primus) and evil (Unicron), and the steps taken by Primus to defeat his adversary. Not kill/destroy- just stop him. He created 13 "Primes" which are different aspects of what he and his mirror image were like. One exemplified combiners, another transformation, yet another a historian, etc. I've read most of the story of how the 13 planned to take Unicron down, but haven't read how that pans out just yet.

I didn't meant capital-B "Bible"; just "bible," as in a comprehensive resource on a subject.

Ahhh, my mistake. I am cautious about using religious terms, much less doing so lightly to things not involved with worship. You could say that it is a bible in that sense. So far, I have read through the introduction of the original 13 primes, their battle to put Unicron into stasis-sleep, and the beginnings of them going to war with one another. It is a bit hard to stick with, but I keep going. The artwork is truly magnificent!

The story is nice as well . . . telling how these 13 took down Unicron, then tried to make a world for themselves- only to turn on one another and have one die at another's hands.

Might have to lose cable . . . but on the upside, netflix and internet should give me most of what I want to watch. sweatdrop

Interesting. They've really fleshed out the world beyond G1.
I find cable isn't worth the price of admission. If companies let you pick and choose what channels you wanted for $x per channel.

Well, after some 30 years, a fair amount of mythos is bound to come up. That said, the mythos is that of war and not exactly uplifting reading. sweatdrop
Yeah, between Netflix and Hulu, you can get most of what TV offers for 16 dollars a month instead of $110 a month we have to do now. stressed

True, and I'm sure.
Yup, though then you have to worry about broadband provider data caps (100-150 gigs/month), which are surprisingly easy to hit when streaming video a lot. Then again, I've heard that business class internet service isn't that much more expensive, has no limit, and is faster to boot.

Hmmm. I didn't consider that. neutral The last time I did this, it didn't become a problem. Granted, that was around two years ago, but I really never ran into any issues.

The above post was supposed to say 200-250 gigs, not 100-150.
I'm not sure exactly when the data caps were instituted. The only real problem is if you're going to be doing a lot of HD streaming.

HD is not a priority for me . . . SD is just fine. So perhaps that is why I never ran into the issue. You know how they play Blu-ray movies in stores with HDTVs? I never managed to figure out how to get that hyper-smooth image. I use Blu-ray disks, and blu-ray players. HDMI cords and HD flat-screen TVs. Never had that super sharp or super smooth motion.
Thus, HD is not a priority, as long as it is at least SD.

Oh, then you'll have no problem at all. I've stayed away from HD as well; it's quite expensive, and the quality difference on a normal-sized screen (well, what used to be normal-sized in the CRT days, I suppose) is negligible.
