In Sept. Around here kids usually start preschool at 3. Most the schools even have a 2 yr old class. It's just for a short amount of time, like her class will be 2 hr. twice a week. She's 3.5 now. I can't believe it. I really wanted her to do Montessori preschool, but it's way too expensive sweatdrop . So we are going with a co-op. That means mom has to work in the class from time to time. That might be fun. ~Luna, how is Logan's speech going? ~Panda glad to hear D is making good progress, that's exciting. ~Gemini, congrats on the potty training.

@Gemini - I hope that he'll have caught up as well. He's doing a lot better than he was a month ago.
@Lunashock - The fact I'm a single mom also helps him get into that.
@Angie - Thanks. He's even learned his own way of saying now. He'll go uh uh to everything now XD He's such a two year old.

Wanted to drop by and say hi to everyone.
Not much going on with me these days. been watching a lot of anime lately. enjoying not having to be up early for school. enjoying not having to go to parent teacher meetings... etc. lol. but, I guess I should get to B2S shopping soon. I'm like such a procrastinator. xD
oh, in a weird turn of things.. me and josh got to go to the movies a lot. we went to Pirates fo the Caribbean, superman, and um... Xmen. Then, we took naaman to see cars which went pretty well for naaman.

lunashock Well, here it's generally 4? Technically, Logan is going to be in headstart, but all the research I've shown it's just preschool but for lower income people. He, too, is in speech therapy (wow, it's been about 9 months!) but I don't think the people at the school understood that I want to keep him with his regular therapist, I love her! (Lol, we were talking about Jem and other 80s shows the other day). Sarah, when does Sascha start? Wow I had no idea that there were so many with children in speech. My K is in speech. she has been for 2 and a half years now. I had to fight with the Dr to get her diagnosed. They kept telling me "Einstine didn't talk untill he was three." I said that might be fine for him but my child isn't even babbling baby sounds. Then the Dr. actualy faced my K and tried to talk to her. Then she said she seems to be swalowing her vowel sounds I think you should have her checked for hereing. At that point it was a relief to be believed. Noe she is doing beautifuly. We are working on s blends. She has come along way. It is so nice to be able to understand her. sweatdrop Now she is heding in to Kindergarten. They grow so fast.

Well, I know Naaman has come a long way with speech in terms of being able to say words for the most part.. though his L, M, and a few other letters come off not so right... I read to him a lot. or.. i was.. I been slacking off on that for like a month now. I dunno... I been feeling really drained lately.. get to feeling like.. I give so much of myself to him adn to my job and to all these people.. and I get to feeling like... what about me... I should get back on track soon though.

D was talking to a little girl today and he wanted her to look at something so he said, "ook ook"
Her mom looked at me like what the heck did he just say? XD So, I had to translate for him.

Graceangel sounds like you need a break or some mommy time. Don't be down everyone needs a break and time for themselves. It's only healthy. Maybee you can do a spa with friends or a movie or some thing like that to refresh yourself. Sounds like you do give alot so don't worry. Your little one sounds like he is doing great. My k is on to her s blends now and is talking so well I rarely need to translate for her. So I know where your comming from Designated Panda. I was doing that alot not to long ago. It's been a long hard road but my K is doing so well now. Her toung is getting stronger and more able to manever around the sounds. The Dr and speech therapist are in agreement that when she had RSV at 9 months for a week her brain didn't get a key learning step completed for the oral motar skils. She is doing so well now. We read and do our oral exersizes every day. Her favorite exersise is the getting the peanutbutter off the roof of her mouth. She will do it wrong just to get me to put more in her mouth. So I start with other stuff then move to that and if she does it well or at least tries to do it right then she gets a treet.

I guess I should find that thread on speech therapy in the Parenting subforum, I'm just trying to remember the name of it!
We've been working on beginning F sounds lately.

Sascha has a hard time with F's , or is it H, anyway she always starts thing with F that don't start with F. I have to remind myself that she is 3 and not to bug her about it. sweatdrop She's always been really good at talking, it's the being quiet that needs work gonk . She's going through the "why's" . Sometimes I just have to distract her because I get so tired of trying to think of reasons why, the radio always plays music, or firetrucks are red, or why Dora speaks spanish, or who named the mall. burning_eyes

um.. 2 things...
1. about speech. when naaman started in the ECDD program.. his speech therapist said to have him drink out of straws because the muscles you use to drink from a straw will help pronunciate certain types of sounds.. and he always drinks out of straws for everything.. and he has gotten much better.
2. anyone here like phantom of the opera who could help me judge a contest i put up? my judges are offline, and I need to wrap it up.

I love phantom! But I don't think your on right now. sweatdrop
lunashock if you find that thread I would love to get it and post there too. K is continueing her S blends and starting on f blends.
Angiemademe I found that when my girls started the Why game I would repeat there why with my own why like why is the sky blue? Just to clerify what they were talking about. But I found It helped them to articulate and think of what they wanted to know. They started to ask specific whys and the general why cut down because I was answereing all of there queston. It realy helped friends and relatives sanity as well as mine during that stage.

I love Phantom!! I'm sorry I missed out.
Justin is getting so tall crying I dropped him off at daycare today and noticed him next to one of the babies. Justin looks like such a big boy! Part of what made me notice today is that he's wearing jeans - gives him a longer look. But its not all illusion - according to the SeaWorld ruler he is just over 42 inches.
