[ Kyle : Hawaii : Outside the Red Rose ]

As everyone began to board, Kyle couldn't help but watch them go with a sigh. So many people to keep track of...

"It was... almost familiar, but definitely darkness."

"Well, what can we do about them would be a better question," he mused, watching (ironically, he thought) as Seymour entered the Red Rose, walking gracefully up the ramp. "The Nobodies aren't necessarily evil, as we've seen from the games, but the villains... we can't know for sure if Kuja or Seymour are deviants in this universe, though it would be safe to assume. The problem is, what exactly can we do to get them out? They've kept us alive on more than one occasion with powers we can't possibly deal with right now. Our only option is to keep an eye on them and hope they stay as long as possible."

His frustrated shrug was sign enough that the whole scenario bothered him. After all, who liked being unable to do anything?

"However, not all Darkness wielders are evil. I mean, Riku's a case in point," he continued. "I guess the best way to look at Darkness is as a combination of power and manifest-temptation... or not, hrm. How about... nah, well..."

His nostrils flared as his eyes took on an amusingly-frustrated look; he couldn't seem to find the right words. "It's a tool that requires negativity to wield. You only need to accept your negativity- not give in to it. However, the more you use or depend on the tool, the more often you have to focus on your negativity, and the more likely you are to want to give in. It's possible to use it for good, but it's risky. After all, those who seek it out likely only do so because they want the additional firepower. And who more likely to fall victim than the power-hungry?"

"Back to Louis, though... I just don't know," he went on, frowning; he'd lost all sense of amusement. As Joe and Matthew entered the ship, he was suddenly filled with the urge to follow. "Being an 'in-game' character doesn't excuse a lack of information. It sounds to me like he was just hiding something-- being vague. Which is only more troublesome. And now that transformation..."

There was something else bugging Kyle about the transformation. Something nagging at him from the back of his mind.

"Where did he get that weapon from?"

[Joe: Hawaii: Red Rose]

Joe didn't move from his spot.

"I'm serious." His voice seemed...gruff. Quiet. Definitely serious.

[Matthew :-: Hawaii :-: Red Rose]

Matt stopped mid-step, then spun on his heel and stopped to face Joe. "What? Why would you want me to go? It's not like I can't fight. Hell, I was able to hold my own against friggin Terra from Final Fantasy 6... Sure, Seymour was there, but I was still able to knock her around a bit," he said, getting defensive. Sure he was new at this, but ALL of them weren't they? He could offer what they could.

[Joe: Hawaii: Red Rose]

The male looked Mathy in the 'eyes'. "In a group of people? Sure, I could see you lasting. But were you solo against her the entire time? Could you solo anything, if the need arose?"

The male shook his head, before his hand ran through his hair. "...No. No, I know what you'll say. You're going to prove it to me. Otherwise, I'm sending you to DC myself." Joe walked past Mathy, face still stony and giving away nothing. "I'm sure this place has something we can use."

[ Seymour : Red Rose : Hall ]

"There's a training chamber on the second level of the ship-- the entrance is on the deck," a lofty voice called out from behind the duo as its origin neared. Seymour nonchalantly strolled down the hall toward them, having turned the corner a few moments prior-- just in time to hear the very end of their conversation. "It has some interesting time compression abilities-- very much like your train, if what they've told me is true."

[Matthew :-: Hawaii :-: Red Rose]

Matt sighed and followed after Joe. "You're aware that I learn abilities from opponents, yis? It's not like facing adversity makes me WEAKER." he tried to explain. Matt doubted he was going anywhere. Joe may be resolute, but Matt had at least 100 lbs on the other man, and was half a foot taller. It'd take quite a bit of force from Joe to make Matt go away.

Matt jumped when he heard the voice coming from behind them. He spun to face the source, and froze when he saw Seymour. "Oh really, you don't say? Well then, let's get going Joseph," he said quickly, and then started hurrying Joe along to get away from the archmage.

[Joe: Hawaii: Red Rose]

Joe barely cocked his head at Seymour, before walking off in the direction stated by the guado, his hand raising as a form of 'thanks'. Mathy tried to rush him off, but Joe was already at a brisk pace. He had...a mission. If you call it that.

It didn't take too long to find the training room, and for Joe to enter it and stride in ahead of Mathy. The door would shut after Mathy, and Joe would turn around, foot arcing along the ground and his staff appearing in his hand. This...was going to be hard, but was necessary.

"Ready?"

[Matthew :-: Hawaii :-: Red Rose]

Matt hesitantly stepped in after Joe, the door closing behind him. He looked at Joe in his combat stance and took in a deep breath. He called his scimitar to his right hand, then stood sideways facing Joe. He held up the three-foot blade in front of him. "Come at me, Broseph."

[Joe: Red Rose: Training Room]

Joe took a deep breath in, then let it out slowly. "Begin."

A wind kicked up around Joe, and then the male ran forward towards Mathy, before suddenly blurring off to the side, circling around the blue mage in a blur of speed. Once he reached behind Mathy, he'd jump and deliver a drop kick to the male's back, silent, no battlecry or noise from him besides his feet hitting the ground.

{Demyx .:. Hawaii .:. Red Rose .:. Womens' Bath}

At Noelle's outburst, Demyx hastily averted his eyes. He heard the rattle of curtain rings sliding across their rods, and when the rattle stopped, he glanced back out of the corner of his eye. They had certainly drawn curtains, but they weren't much for actually hiding the girls. Sure, they obscured minor details, but that was definitely the shapely curve of a woman's shoulders peeking up out of Dani's tub, and Noelle's blonde hair showing through another. Kyla didn't seem to have drawn her own curtain, but instead submerged herself in bubbles.

Well, they at least made a passing reference to modesty. Not that Demyx cared, though.

"Hey, I was tryin' to stop him!" Demyx protested at Kyla's accusation. "Dude just walked right on past me. Even read the sign. But did that stop him? Nope. Sheesh, no respect around here, I swear." He continued muttering in that vein for a moment before subsiding into awkward silence.

{Bobbi .:. Hawaii .:. Red Rose .:. Washroom}

Bobbi's eyes opened at the screaming coming from nearby. It sounded like a couple of the girls were walked in on by guys, judging by the "I'm indecent!" shout that sounded like Noelle. With the tiled bathroom, the sounds were slightly distorted, so she couldn't tell exactly where they came from, but it seemed like they were nearby. Probably in some of the bedrooms. Someone probably accidentally walked in, thinking a bedroom was unoccupied or something.

With a shrug that sent the water in her tub sloshing, Bobbi sat up from her reclined position, and grabbed a bar of soap. It had a sharp citrus scent to it, something she found quite pleasant. Draped over the side of the tub was a thick washcloth, which she lathered up with the soap, and began to scrub her arms. She took a moment to glance at her fingertips, which were just barely starting to wrinkle, then went back to her scrub. The cloth was thick and mildly abrasive, making it perfect for scouring away the dead skin, dirt, and sweat of the last day.

Sayrike::Hawaii::Outside the Red Rose

Sayrike sighed with minor frustration. "Ugh. It's like playing a game of chess. You're never quite sure how many moves ahead the other player is, and you're always thinking you're just playing right into their hands. You make plans, and then wonder if they've already thought of them." She rubbed her hairline above her forehead, thinking. "Well...I agree that, for now, the villains are an asset. But I think we should also keep in mind a few things..." She began counting on her fingers, "One: they might turn on us at some point. Actually, it'd just be safer to expect it. Two: knowing that they are not hindering us, we must be either acting according to their plan or we aren't interfering at all and they're just making sure to keep us on a leash. There's something to be said about the fact that such powerful beings are helping us, especially when they're not known for acting previously out of the kindness of their own heart. Three: there's gotta be a larger picture here. Maybe there's even a boss of sorts who's organizing all of this. And we have to think, 'What do they want from us? Or, what do they want to keep us out of?'"

Sayrike stopped, realizing that she was thinking aloud again. "Err...and about Riku. Yeah, he's a darkness wielder but it's tempered. And he's already had his fight with it; he knows his limits, and he knows himself, which is why he's able to control it so well. Who's to say Louis has or hasn't found his balance yet? I don't think his most recent display of power puts a point in the 'stable' category. But..." she cocked her head to the side, "I don't think I realize the significance of what you mean about his weapon. I figured it just a manifestation of his darkness. Dunno, maybe I'm just assuming that darkness-wielders could form whatever weapon they liked? Especially at that power level? I mean, it's not like he has a single heartbound weapon like we do..."
