No one can blame you too much, Sok. There's a reason why you have three people look over every profile, a single person can make mistakes and never notice.

Having a single person look over profiles - and having it not be the same person for all profiles - is really the misstep. You can't blame someone for doing their job with no means of knowing or controlling whether or not the other people were doing their job to the same degree or even in the same fashion.

Even if there's some profiles you slipped on, it was the system implemented that was the issue, not necessarily one person's judgments. The 2/3 majority system that works for fights should also be used for profiles.. for the exact same reasons.

I didn't say that.

I told you what I liked to do.

Sometimes I write really short post, other times I write comparably long one's.

I mean I think they all serve there purpose and you need to know when which is appropriate.

If I have a lot of information to convey, such as when I'm role playing with 6 different people at the same time DMing a scene....

There's just a lot of s**t to talk about.

In this fight I'm about to have with Fox. There gonna be short as ********. Because I know fox (if he even post again) doesn't really give a damn.

Not everything is directed at you. I was making fun of the subject in general, because it doesn't matter how long or short a post is as long as it conveys what it needs to.

lol

Sorry I guessed that some one could have interpreted what I said as sounding arrogant.

But yeah I agree with you.

On the subject of post lengths, I'm a huge fan of minimalism. I read Clash's posts and genuinely like them. The big problem with short posts is that it becomes nearly impossible to convey complex thoughts or emotions. Interesting posts with good characterization are almost always long posts.

Yeah, but that's the opposite end of the spectrum. Too minimal because there should still be a good aspect of RP in this, not simply the actions. Not necessarily even complex thoughts or emotions. For a fight those can be pretty straightforward.

But you could always spice things up with a bit of description and elaboration. Throw in something about the environment, the crowd, etc.

I also like to get in the fighter's head and really see things from their perspective. It's too easy to simply read and interpret an opponent's attack and think "OK, so my best option is to do this." But in the heat of battle, you won't necessarily think of the very best course of action to take next.

But there's really no need to get very technical with fight posts or very flowery with descriptions. I used to note every last little detail of every attack, down to the exact positioning of the body and blah blah blah. More and more I'm realizing a lot of that is implicit so long as you don't leave gaping holes for your opponent to exploit, like to say your guard was down or you had a certain side of the body open to attack.

I dunno, fights and stuff... *wanders off, muttering to himself*

I have to admit that ruling is making me laugh pretty damn hard.

Gah my fight with samyou is achingly slow, and not in the good way.

I know its life, but I really want more action out of this rp then two or three posts a round.

Every body got hurt by that ruling, sometimes its just better to keep the judges out of it till the end.

Technical fighting has it's advantages. In a game where things need to be logically argued in order to be accepted, technical information can be a huge tool.

The key is not letting it bog down the flow of your post. I think if you know how to project a good written voice you can incorporate technical info nicely.

Fierach, we've fallen behind in post count! TURBO POST MODE ACTIVATE!

I know you can do it too, we got like 8 posts done in a few hours the other night.

*tips hat* Very true, sir. My thoughts exactly. It's all about a nice flow and plenty of style.

I am also a fan of the judge decision. It put a smile on my face. Dunno how anyone could see this as bad for Molestia, considerin'. I'd take a bite on the ankle over second to third degree burns on my face. I dunno, I'm crazy like that.
