Tails sat up, holding his hand against him. "Careful, Blizz. Let me get away from the lava, at least. And brush off. And probably see that I'm not too hot to the touch." And with this, stood and walked up the crag to the rim surrounding the pit. "I think I'll be okay as long as the sword didn't do anything -strange- to me. Can you feel anything from it? I'm sure I did."

"Not necessarily, other than the left over chi that it does have." I said. "Its like its trying to leak out or something."

"That's a lot of chi," Tails observed. Like a cat, he rubbed against the rock walls, smearing the lava about and most of it off his fur. When he was satisfied, he stood straight and stretched. For the moment, he ignored his bleeding hand. "Okay, Blizz. I think I'm safe to cool down."

Which, of course, was the okay for an ice beam. He wondered if Tristen had seen this yet.

To which I promptly shot him with one. Not one very hard. I was out to cool him off, not blow him back into the lava. "That should probably do it." I said, reaching back down into the pack.

Tails hadn't gotten every fleck -- there were a few hard snaps about his fur and black stone crumbled off. But it was enough, and he went to sit down aside Tristen. "Thanks, Blizz. So, um." He raised his wounded hand. "Can you check to see if there's any chi that shouldn't be?"

"I don't think there's anything to worry about. Rather, chi wise anyways." I said. And honestly I was sensing. "My main concern however...is that cut. If there is any chi, it'd probably take Doc's brand of sensing, instead of mine." I told him. I took out a few bandages and, probably to Tails's dismay, another thing from Doc's repritoire. Doc's brand of antiseptic. About twice as potient as alcohol, including the burn to follow, and probably reeks just as bad, as Tails would find when I popped the lid to it. "Who knew Durin berries would of had a grander use than just making people wince by looking at them..."

"Is THAT what that is?" Tristen asked. The smell was more overbearing than the lava.

As tough as Tails pretended to be, even he winced over the smell -- it was like Everclear, but somehow more bitter. He did not withdraw his hand, but looked away, ears pinning against his skull. "Make it quick," he said.

He knew better than to fight it. But an injection was a more pleasing idea than this.

I went on to coat Tails's hand with the Durin berry concoction from Doc, then went on to wrap fairly tight his hand with bandages to allow the hand to heal. "You did good, Tails." I said.

Tails did not answer because he had sunk his teeth into Blizz's vest. It was thick, padded and most importantly, not a bullet. But his front wasn't complete. His tails were curled to their very bases.

Once the pressure had quelled some of the pain, he made a sound roughly passing as 'Thank you'.

I scooped Tails up and held him close, since he was biting down on my vest, then sat down. Tristen got closer himself. "Does it hurt that bad?" Tristen asked.

"Word of advice, Tristen. In a situation like this? Not the best thing to ask." I said.

"Oh. Sorry." Tristen said. Still though, he wasn't trying to be mean or anything of that sort. He was concerned.

Tails was quiet for a minute longer. Then, a hiss escaped through his teeth and he let go. "I'll never get used to that stuff," he said. "It burns. I'm not -supposed- to burn. I think I could go for some chocolate. Or see if Miles left any of those strange leaves at the mansion in Ecruteak."

Miles? Strange leaves? "Uhhhhh...I can probably get you a bit of chocolate. Its the least I could do." I said to him. "You done a big thing for me today, Tails. Thank you." I said.

"You're welcome, Blizz," Tails said. "It's the least -I- could do. Really. And it was nice being in lava again. Even if I got a little scared I wouldn't make it back. But then Typhlosion came. I could do more than that."

The while, he held his hand close. The bite was not gone, but it lessened as the minutes went by.

I rubbed the fox kid's head. "Well, obviously with that bandage on, taking another dip in the lava is a farcry at this point until that cut heals." I said. "How about we head on out of here. Sooner to get that chocolate, right?" I asked.

A nod from Tails. "And for Tristen, I hope," he said. "And then I can fall asleep on him. Right, Tristen?"

Tristen sweatdropped and gave a bit of a laugh. "Eheh, right." He said.

"Alright you two. Lets see here..."

"Wait, you said that you were going to get me to find our way out using my Flash, right?" Tristen asked.

"Actually, yea, I did." I said. "Look there." I said, pointing towards another tunnel. "That is probably the way out. I'm guessing that's the way I was dragged out by Freth. There must have been a way leading back up towards the surface..." I said.
