Too lost in her own world in which she was battling the sun and it's evil rays of heat, Lonni almost didn't hear some mentionings of 'water'. The mere word gave a jolt of revival to the jeans wearing, brown-shirt-with-matching-scarf photographer.
"W-w-water?!" she croaked feebly as her plain brown eyes widened themselves into saucers.
Oh praise to the gods, there was WATER in this place! Life saving giving precious holy-cow-its-wet water!
Words that seemed as soft and tender like a visiting angel mentioned the word 'water' and it was directed to her; Lonni the Plain and the Simple. In her delirium, the photographer could only bob her head up and down with a stupified awed look plastered over her sweaty face to the cat holding woman. To the dehydrated Lonni, this person was as close to the likes like any other diety.
She spoke of water!
Scrambling to her feet with great haste, Lonni failed to see that her boots had stepped on her long scarf during her ascent. Bad mistake. One moment the woman had tears of joys in her eyes only for her face to change into that of horror. Air! Why wasn't she getting any air!?
Clawing at her throat, Lonni's fingers scrambled themselves over the brown scarf. Evil vile thing of doom! Why was she in a scarf on a hot day like this anyways?! Was she crazy?!
AIR!
With a huge gasp, Lonni yanked off her tormentor, rivulets of sweat pouring down her face.
"I saw my life flash before me," she said after a long pause, her face now looking haggard, which was an odd combination to the sweat.
"Water please kind si- Oooooohh!"
Her thirst momentarily forgotten, sweaty hands reached down for the camera around her neck to take a blinding flash of light at the satyr looking man. The photographer strikes again!!!
....only to once again realize that she was in dire need of water.
"Water please kind sir! Lots of it! I COME BEARING MONEY!"

"Julian Sweet is..." Natsuki replied with a certain softness to her voice. Her eyes remained focused on the stage, watching him closely. Without realizing it, Natsuki looped her arm around We'rika's, seeking comfort from her friend. She knew it was rude to help herself to his person without asking permission, but if the Huiochol had any sense for women, and his friend in particular, he'd be able to tell she was distracted. Leaning her head onto his shoulder, her grip loosened as she finished her sentence, "...a scientist."
Natsuki usually participated in conversations far better than she was at that moment with We'rika. Their usual banter would have been enough to satiate her, but in that moment, all Natsuki wanted was her friend beside her. Her thoughts were scattered, replying the events over and over in her head. Part of her wanted to rush up to that stage and talk to him, but the other kept her firmly planted on the spot. She was unsure if it was fear of humiliation or Julian's wrath if she confronted him in public, but either way, she simply stood there, watching him with focused stormy gray eyes.
"Are you ready to go up there?" Natsuki said, hearing the auctioneer open the bidding for Julian's date, leaving her with a most precarious decision. In their final moments together prior to the auction, she was the aggressor in their kiss. For a lady of her upbringing, it was one thing to be aggressive in private, but another to do so in public. Hands of hungry women... and men started flying up, and Natsuki simply bit her cherry red lips, waiting in anticipation. She wanted to see how he'd react, but only if she lost to another person. Her pulse spiked at the bids went higher and higher, and it sank like the Titanic when the winner turned out to be... a guy.
"I don't think I am..." she said nervously as her hand tightened around his arm, "I don't know if I can do this..."

It was fortunate, Ki couldn't help but think, that she hadn't gotten anything to drink, because the other woman likely would have been wearing it. "I...guess that's a matter of counting your blessings, then." she replied faintly, just a little on the pale side.
"But...so she doesn't eat normal food?" Ki'retha asked after a moment of thought. This could be a plus, at least. "And it was? So it's possible that I'm not just imagining that the amber-piece keeps increasing in size...albeit slowly?"

"To know for sure you should ask one of the doctors," Kali suggested with a shrug. While it was a topic she was interested in, she was hardly an expert. All the signs pointed towards this woman having one of the coveted essences, but Kali was no scientist to be able to pull numbers and statistics out of her head. "I think that when it comes to Raevans, it's best to assume you're not imagining anything."
A quick glance over at the ice cream stall had Kali reassured that nothing horrible was happening (luckily, or perhaps unluckily, she'd missed the boob-grabbing). She extended a hand to the pirate. "Kalindara, by the way. It seems like we'll be meeting again more often if you're joining this project, too."

Ki nodded. She'd yet to meet any of the 'doctors', but hopefully at some point would have the chance to do so, and ask them for some of the answers that still niggled at the back of her mind. However, there was a time and place for everything, she supposed.
Meeting the other woman's hand with her own, Ki grinned. "Ki'retha. And it would appear that way, wouldn't it?" If this Kalindara was what she came across as now, that wouldn't be half bad--there was a certain strength of character that she presented, which was something that Ki respected.

Aphismet blinked in susprise at the boy's question. He let out a laugh, although it sounded a little too hysterical to honestly be from his amusement. His answer held an edge, showing that he would be talking with Riv later. "W-what? If Riv has ever...? No, Tyson, Rivener's never killed or eaten anyone before. He can't eat anyone, seeing as he has no tummy to keep food in!" Aph purposefully refused to say that Rivener couldn't kill, however... He was certain it was within the Scorpion's ability.
"Why would you ask that? Did he scare you? Rivener can be very scary, but that's just what he does when he's annoyed. He didn't really mean it, I'm sure," the cook cooed, reaching forward and mussing up the boy's hair.

Lazarus's eyes almost popped out of his sockets when Tari grabbed her boobs. He jerked backwards involuntarily, eyes staring at the wrong places. Having developed a heart after his growth, it pumped vigorously right now in his chest, he found himself having breathing difficulties as this happens. Pressing his hand on his chest he tried to calm himself down as he looked away from Tari. Oh God. I almost had a heart attack... I think. He thought to himself, slowly recovering from the 'shock'. Girls and their boobs are like dangerous weapons to him right now, maybe it wasn't a good idea to help out in the festival after all.
Lazarus wasn't paying attention to what Tari was saying before she came closer. Instinctively, he backed away just a mere inch. "M... My... name?" he stuttered, having still recovering. "I'm Lazarus..." He hesitated a little when she asked to touch his hair, his heart still beating hard in his chest. But he don't see why he can't let Tari do so. So mustering up the little courage he had left, he nodded a little hesitantly. "S... sure you can touch it." Floating forwards to Tari a little, he brushed some of his spiked long red hair to the front.

"You can't..eat?" Namini interpreted as she was still stunned by Tari's beauty. But then her eyes were drawn away from the female Raevan's raven hair and metallic gauntlets..to her breast, in which Tari was grasping proudly. Blushing fiercely, Namini looked away and let out a shaky laugh. Tari said something to Lazarus and her about hair and sakura disappearing? but Namini simpled nodded and said, "Really now?.." though her tone showed her embarrassment and effort to avoid looking back at Tari. Then she heard a slight shifting noise and turned back to see Lazarus leaning over the counter to allow Tari to feel his hair.
Well..this was awkward. Shifting her feet uncomfortably Namini somehow squeaked a request to Lazarus. "Can I..um..still get the..the..bana-bananana-banana boat?"

The date auction had finished in a flurry of activity, leaving Niksia amused at the very least. With that over most people dispersed and she was left pondering what else to do. For the time being the stall and pen that she'd passed in a daze near the entrance seemed as good a place as any to check out. At first glance it seemed like a petting zoo, generally for the amusement of countless small children, but on the second...
Adopt me??
Weird and wonderful creatures were everywhere, giving people many different things to look at. Perhaps not pet though, some of them were a little more worryingly shaped. Niksia managed to spot a happy looking fox that had been crossed with a giant butterfly, with apparently no ill effects. Then there was the rather upset looking sheep, trying vainly to jab at her ankles with some kind of trident. She dodged absentmindedly while looking for others of interest. Oh, and another one that was a cross between some kind of fish and maybe another fox.
'Some life, isn't it?' Niksia didn't have any issue with addressing the chimeras, she leant on the edge of the pen and watched them thoughtfully.
'Don't mind me, I haven't the energy to go make friendly for the time being.'

After everyone had drifted away from their booth to address the other awakening activities of the fair, Isi and Eiry took a moment to relax at their booth. Isi leaned on his crossed arms on the table, lying his head on the crook of his arm as he drearily fought back the lulling whisper of a calm summer day. The cash box was secure, lying rested like an overstuffed robot, satisfied from the meal it had been served. Judging by the money they had made, and the money that had been donated (holy CRAP Isi was still geeking out about it!), the Lab would have a nice sum to rebuild the Lab with. Isi also took this time to relax from the repeated questions of the newbie fair goers. He didn't even want to think about how many times he retold the tragic tale of the smoking Lab. Now, he just enjoyed the fair smells, the fair chatter, and the warm breeze that made the balloons dance and bump into one another on an invisible dance floor.
In a way, Isi felt disconnected from the crowd, sitting here behind the booth, but then again, he always felt disconnected. Being as young as he is and as mature as a twenty-five year old at the same time made it difficult to find someone to talk with. Well, if he could find someone to talk with. Because of his weak legs and the crutches lying next to his stool, it was hard to merge with the crowd and meet new faces. At the same time, Isi was glad. He didn't want to deal with probing questions or assuming stares as he hobbled by. Isi rolled his head to the other side of his arms. Well, perhaps ... It wouldn't be so bad to know what was going on. Usually at fairs and events and birthday parties, he found a place to sit down and watched the scene unfold before him. It was rather like watching a foreign film with no subtitles ... So one could imagine how the crippled boy felt at the end of each event.
Unfulfilled. Unsatisfied. Hungry.
There wasn't much he could do about it, though. It was a dead end at every turn when Isi considered and mulled over the possible options.
Though...Things have been different since Eiry came along.
The boy rolled his head again to the other side of his arm and lifted his neck slightly so he could glance at his charge. Eiry, satisfied with his job with the balloons was taking what appeared to be a well deserved rest.
Now he didn't feel as lonely with Eiry to teach and watch over. Well... In that case, Isi thought with a slow smile, I'm just fine right here.

Tyson looked up at Aphismet, his expression still showing signs of worry as his hair was fluffed. His brows had knitted and his lower lip had become a tool for his nerves to gnaw on. There was no laughter or giggles emitting from him strangely enough. Even with the caring act from a man he looked up to, the energy remained subdued. His older friend's comforting words simply did not have the power to erase the terrifying expression Rivener sported. With a heavy sigh and a loose shrug, Tyson brought up a point to the no-tummy problem that Rivener possessed.
"But Aphi, you know that even without a tummy, he can eat someone with his mouth, chew them up, and then spit their bones back out. It happens in movies with the monsters...and since Rivener isn't human..." His voice trailed off, becoming softer and softer until it was barely audible to hear. Just like many children dealing with horror movies, Tyson believed that what happened in them could acutally take place in his everyday life.
"I just don't think Rivener likes me very much. He's not very happy when I'm around, so I don't think he'd want to go to the park if I'm there. Since I don't want to get eaten...I just won't go. " This time the child had to make more of an effort to spit out what he was saying. He really did want to go to the park, but as he thought about the possible horror-filled outcome, he found it too big of a risk even for him.

Aphismet smiled sadly. Rivener could be such a jerk sometimes, impatient and intolerant... but to scare a child this much? Especially Tyson, who normally seemed so full or energy and unstoppable.
"Awww, Ty. Rivener just isn't very nice, but he certainly wouldn't hurt you. And besides, I'LL protect you. I wouldn't let anything happen to you while I'm around." He grinned and sat up. "Think of Rivener's friendship like a treasure to be won; it doesn't come easily, but it's like a Quest! If you do things right he'll be your friend, and then won't you feel even more special for having won?" He tried to encourage the boy. This subdued Tyson wasn't the same, it made Aphi incredibly sad.
Munchies could also detect something was wrong. She chrrrred and sat up in the boy's lap, balancing on her back paws and placing her front ones on Ty's chest so that she could reach his nose with her muzzle, giving it a friendly little lick.

Tyson laughed as the litte gwee's tounge tickled his noise. He brought her closer to his chest, his grip staying light though, as to not squish her.
A spark had passed through his eyes at the thought of winning Rivener's friendship. If he had Aphi around to keep the raevan from eating him, but still be able to make Rivener happy, then he would be secure and safe.
In a heartbeat, Tyson was smiling up at the man, his hope successful with it's take off and now smoothly sailing. "Alright, Aphi! I will! But...umm..." He thought a moment, realizing he barely knew anything about the raevan. If he didn't have a clue about the other, how would he succeed in gaining friendship? "What does Rivener like...? I mean, does he like action figures? Books? I want to know because I bet gifts might make him like me more!" Of course, Tyson still needed to change his personality whenever around Rivener to one that suited the other. Yet, he currently had his focus pinned on the material goods.
