Sanabi was following all right, a bit too closely as well. When the sensei stoped, he almost walked into him. Stumbling back, he took in what the sensei had said and acknowleged. Quickly, Sanabi assumed an upheld posture of confidence. In a strong tone, he spoke up, "My name is Tategami, Sanabi. It's a pleasure to make your aquaintance. I can't wait to learn the way of shinobi, and grow along side my fellow students."
Sanabi wasted no more time, and walked over to a desk, taking a seat. He sat upright and attentive, watching the sensei intentively. Finally, now I can get to learning what's important. Sanabi was so excited, his foot was bouncing up and down on the floor.

Razputin looked to the back of the class crawling back onto his seat. He pulled himself up using the table and gave the new student a friendly smile and a wave, specks of light brown sand could be seen still doting his hat, as well as a few specks of were salt lay. He stood up retrieving the said book placing it on the desk in front of him, although dull hand signs where an important form of learning jutsus. He skimmed through the pages realising that he, himself had never truly been introduced to anyone, let alone introduce himself. He looked once more at the student who's had taken a seat and was no longer in the same place, "By the by, names Razputin, Razputin D'artigan." He waited for the chuckles of fellow students, he knew his clan did not have the best reputation and was normally mocked for being such childish people, but to say one was childish was not at all like saying one was dim witted.
He returned to his book getting back to the task at hand, He opened the pristine new book looking at the hand seals, their were twelve in all, but to him many of them looked the same, even under such clear quality this would take some work to get done right the first time around. The crystal clear pictures made it easy for him to make out the hand sign, as he formed it though he let his pinky fall to dar to the left meaning, although he had goten close he had not done it corectaly.

Shin was always one to hold his tongue concerning his name as his family was not thought of very highly. So instead of being the first to speak up and give an introduction, he slide towards the bookshelves and picked up their reading material. If he was lucky he would not have to utter his name at this point but rather in a more relaxed setting where formal introductions were not necessary. Thus he sat down a bi far back from the others and hide his face in his book.Roll: 8 + 0 = 8(Fail) However this approach of 'hiding his face in his book' was a great hinderance to learning. With the words and diagrams so close nothing was really visible. He would have to do with just trying to look as if he was not there, that way atleast he would get some work done. Looking over the first page at a proper distance from his eyes made his work much easier. Roll: 18 + 0 = 18 (Pass) In fact as he read more in more the material did not seem so difficult. The first few pages talked about the ram handsign and after studying the finger configuration he had managed an acceptable imitation. The following second held the rabbit sign which was even easier to perform than the last one, he did it in half the time. A small bud of confidence began to build, the first day had been rough but he was getting use to learning.Roll: 18 + 0 = 18 (Pass) He confidence began to falter when he came across the next section. In the next section they expected him to be able to perform the horse sign with very little instruction. A diagram was there but the words accompaning it were few in number. The other hand sign has detailed step by step instruction on how to do them but this part gave no help at all.Roll: 5 + 0 = 5 (Fail) ---------- Learn the Hand Seals d20 + int mod DC 10 2/12 - one for each seal

Sanabi looked at the fellow student that spoke to him, or at least, that's who he was sure he was talking to. Sanabi smiled when he introduced himself, Sanabi returned, "Nice to meet you. Can't wait to get to know you. past all the formalities. By the way, how should I address you? You can call me simply, Sanabi. My clan name doesn't really meen much anymore, so I don't hold much pride in it, thus, you can throw any formalities out the window for all I care."
Before the other student could answer, Sanabihad another question, "Um, could you tell me... what are we studying? I'd rather not fall behind because of my late arrival."

Shin couldn't help but listen to the conversation between the two newest members of their class. He wasn't right next to them but he wasn't far enough away that he was out of earshot. This didn't help his studies at all. With an already hard subject, this division of attention could only make things worse. He passed over the diagram once more, practically skimming it and learned nothing.Roll: 2 + 0 = 2 (fail) He shook himself back to his own studies, trying to ignore the social interaction around him. However something was gnawing at the back of his head but he just could figure out what was setting him off. What wasn't right? Why could he not concentrate on his work? After pondering for a second the answer hit him, the reason he could not concentrate on his studies was...Roll: 3 + 0 = 3 (fail) ... that he knew he wasn't doing the right thing. His family, his people were a loner clan. They kept to themselves, had few friends outside of the family and never participated in anything. That was the reason they did not become shinobi, the reason they did not fight, the reason they were the laughing stock of the village. Shin was different because he wanted to be here, he wanted the experience. So why was he shying away in a corner?Roll: 1 + 0 = 1 (fail) In order to get back to work he had to be himself and stop being a Takamura. He walked over to the other students and gracefully joined their conversation. "We're starting on handsigns at the moment. You should go get a book and start. Sanabi, you said your name was? Well I'm Shin, Shin Takamura and its nice to meet you. And you, Razputin, for it seems I haven't given you a proper greeting either." And with those simple words it seemed as if a weight had been lifted and a fog cleared. Without even noticing what he was doing he made a horse sign without so much as a hitch. Looking down at his hands, Shin was amazed at what being yourself could do. Roll: 19 + 0 = 19 (Pass) ---------- Learn the Hand Seals d20 + int mod DC 10 3/12 - one for each seal

Razputin nodded to both of them trying to focus on his hand sign. He pressed his fingers together feeling them mesh together, once more he had gotten close but not close enough that he could count it as a hand sign. He looked up realising that he had been questions that he had yet to answer, "You can call me Raz, or Razputin, or D'art, or D'artigen... What ever floats your boat." He smiled focusing on the picture then his hands. He would have to to take this one step at a time to finish up swiftly. He licked his chapped lips tasting salt water that was still their sense yesterday, he looked at his shaking hands trying to focus on stability.
Roll = 4 - 1 = 3 [Fail]]
Razputin, after getting his hand steady, began his hand seal again. He looked at each finger individually before trying it on his own hand. He bent his thumbs inward placing his two pointer fingers together in a stiff position, he then bent in his middle fingers placing them adjacent to their thumbs, he finished the hand seal by placing his last for fingers much like his pointers. He had made a correct bird sign, he felt happy with the outcome of his hand sign and crashed the feeling of completing his first task.

Sanabi rolled the names around in his head, but decided it didn't really matter, what was important was figuring out what he needed to be doing. It didn't take long when looking at the other students that they were practicing hand signs. With a quick nod, he stood up and walked over to the book shelves. There, he searched and skimed through the different titles and catagories and found the needed book.
He quickly made his way back to the desk. and began studying the immages. "Hmmmm..." He placed his hands together, and attempted to make the first sign. The bird was dificult, and eluded him misurably. (Roll = 2-1=1)
He stared at it for awhile, then tried again... the complex placement of fingures was so confusing, once again, he was stumped. (Roll = 6-1=5)
Sanabi began to be frustrated with the anoying sign, he placed his hands together again, he got close, but again fell short somewhere. (Roll = 8-1=7)
After several more minutes of studying the picture and description, he placed his hands together for the result of a perfect art!

Sanabi turned the page in his book and stared at the picture. The dragon, it looked easy enough. He arranged his hands together, but couldn't seem to get it right, so again he looked back to the text book. (Roll = 4-1=3 = fail)
Again frustrated with the handsigns, Sanabi began to grind his teeth together. He aranged his hands again, and to his surprise, seemed to get it right! (Roll = 13-1=12 =pass!)
Again encuraged by his success, sanabi flped the page again and studied the monkey sign. "Simple!" he said to himself, and performed the seal. Without a hitch, he pulled off the hand seal. (Roll = 13-1=12 =pass!)
With his sudden roll of success, he fliped the page, and barely studied the rat. when he placed his hands together, he might had well not placed his hands together at all. A complete skrewup. (Roll = 1-1=0 gonk ))

Sanabi glared at the betraying pages, that so scornfully shot down his streak of success. Several minutes passed before he got up the will to try again. With a quick and effortless flip of the hands, his failure was no surprise. (Roll=1-1=0=fail)
Sanabi's head droped, and he sighed in defeat. "I guess this stuff isn't as easy as it sounds. His eyes scaned over the page again, and he placed his hands together. Unlike what he expected, he realised he created the hand sign correctly! (Roll=16-1=15=pass!)
The next page was a picture of the hand sign "Hare" he placed his hands together, and skrewed up by placeing the wrong figures in the wrong places. "This is so stupid... how can hand signs be this hard?" (Roll=5-1=4=fail)
Sanabi sucked up the failure and tried again, this time bearing results he desired. "5 down, 7 to go." (Roll=14-1=13=pass!)

Sanabi has proud of his achievement, but little did he know that the next hand sign would be the most dificult of them all. At least for him that is. The Ram, apparently is very picky on where you have your fingures. His first try, passed by with nothing but fail writen all over it. (Roll = 1-1=0...)
Sanabi tried again, this time, getting a few steps closer. But, yet still not good enough. He looked at the page, reading it's writing, and observing its picture. AS simple as it seemed, the hand positions were like greek to him. (Roll = 6-1=5...)
Getting a bit anoyed again, he read the description a bit deeper. But when he placed his hands together, it semed he got worse! "I don't get it! Why can't I get it right?! I don't understand! Gagh!" (Roll = 5-1=4 = fail,fail,fail!)
Finnally after a good amount of study, he performed the hand seal correctly. Which resulted in a giant smile across his face. One step closer... (Roll = 16-1=15)

Next in the book was Boar, Sanabi was confident he could get this one right, but unfortunately, when he performed the hand seal, it was JUST off, but not by much. (Roll=10-1=9=fail)
He was sure he got it right, but tried again anyway... this time, he JUST got it right. In his mind, Sanabi cheered at the top of his lungs, so happy he was allowed to move on. And away he went to the next sign. (Roll=11-1=9=pass!)
Ox was next, and Sanabi was a little intimidated by the hand position. When he placed his hands together and attempted the seal, it wasn't correct, and he'd need to try again. (Roll=7-1=6=fail)
Again he tried, this time, with more confdence. When he performed the seal, it was correct and with good form. The Ox had been defeated! "That's eight, only 4 more to go." (Roll=14-1=13=pass!)

Sanabi looked at the next page, studying it, and playing with his own hands, trying to form the sign. After a few minutes, he tried, without looking at the book, and fialed to get it right. But he would keep trying. (Roll=8-1=7=fail)
Again he aranged his hands and fingures, pressing them together, and hoping for the best. His effort resulted successfully. He was so close to being done... he sped off to the next page. (Roll=18-1=17=pass!)
The next page had the tiger sign, which Sanabi liked, due to the origins of his clan. He looked at it intently, making sure he'd get it down pat. THen when he formed the seal, it worked! "As expected! No way I'd skrew that one up!" And with that, he moved on. (Roll=12-1=11)
Two more hand signs awaited him. And he started on the next one with a vengence. He was sure he could finnish these last few quickly. However, when he attempted the "dog". It didn't work out quite right. (Roll=4-1=3=fail)

Sanabi tried again with the dog sign but came up sort, then went back to the page. he thought he was doing it right, so he tried one more time. And again and again... but nothing. What am I doing wrong? (Roll=6-1=5=fail)
After a bit of studying the immage, and description, he tried one more time, this time altering the angle at which he held his hands. This time, it was the right sign, and he gleemed in success. He even turned and smiled at the sensei, even though Sanabi was sure from the way he acted, didn't care much. (Roll=13-1=12=pass!)
The last, and at first glance, the least dificult, the monkey. Sanabi smirked, They saved this for last? How stupid. He performed the seal, but failed. Apparently, I'm the stupid one. (Roll=3-1=2=fail...)
Sanabi quickly tried again, sure that he'd get it right. But yet again, it was wrong. "Stpid seal... why wont it work?!" His eyes looked deeply as the page, the tormenting pages that continually avioded his understanding. (Roll=3-1=2=fail...again)
Sanabi gritted his teeth, it seemed so easy. But yet he couldn't get it right! He stared at the picture, and suddenly realised, he had the wrong hnd on top! Quickly he corrected, and performed the sign. Then, the obvious was clear, and he succeeded in performing the last seal. (Roll=13-1=12=pass! DONE!!!)
Sanabi suddenly got an idea, a self test. He'd try and use all 12 seals right after another, in quick succession, trying to remember tem as fast as he could. Better be carefull not to release chakra when I perform these. And away he went, wispering as he went along, "Bird(Fail),Dragon(Pass),Rat(pass),Ram(fail),Horse(fail),Hare(Fail),Tiger(pass),Boar(pass),Serpent(pass),Dog(fail),Monkey(Pass),Ox(fail)." (Roll=[Intelegence Mod already subtracted]5, 18, 15, 9, 2, 6, 14, 10, 14, 9, 17, 6)
After his little experiment, he decided he needed more practice, so he returned to reading the book and studying the pictures he had messed up or forgot in the practice.

Razputin had realized he had been drifting off into dream land, it had been hard for him to focus, and he hardly had the patients for even this task. He looked at the next picture trying without really thinking into the hand sign. He yawned blinking a few times realising that he had done it correctly. He looked down from his hand to the picture and back again. He smiled laughing triumphantly. He ran through the two hand seals he had just completed.
Roll = 17 - 1 = 16 [[Pass]]
He tried once more to do the hand seal without thinking about it but swiftly learned to was hard to think about not thinking about something. He grumbled a little popping his fingers pretending he had screwed up on accident, he looked over at Sanabi seeing what kind of progress he was making, to Razputins astonishment Shanabi had already finished his hand seals, he grumbled some more looking back at the book as he tried the hand seal again.
Roll = 7 - 1 = 6 [[fail]]
Razputin seemed to have an even more difficult time when he was focus, he struggled once more with the hand sign unable to find where he was messing up , but he knew it wasn't right he could feel his fingers tremble. He started to drift into sleep, over a week with no sleep was starting to take the toll on his body, if he wasn't careful he wouldn't be able to stay awake through to the next round.
Roll = 5 - 1 = 4 [[Fail]]
Razputin let the sleep over take him and drifted into slumber land. His head hit the desk with a thud causing him to jolt back up into reality with a new sense of focus, these hand signs where the last thing on his mind, and to tell the truth was one of the most pointless waist of time he had ever had to live through. He closed his eyes sighing and grabbing his head yelling, "Why is this so hard?" He could only ask himself. After all he had perfect pictures in front of him yet he still failed time after time.
Roll = 6 - 1 = 5 [[Fail]]
The lack of sleep was making him agitated as he picked up the book slamming it shut, he stood up walk tot he closest wall and slammed his head into the wall several times repeating the words he had said earlier. The bags under his eyes were large, as for his eyes them self looked glassy and glazed over, showing his lack of will at the moment. He sunk down to the ground closing his eyes and falling into a deep slumber, maybe after a few minutes rest he would be able to continue, but until then he just didn't have the energy to continue.
Roll = 5 - 1 = 4 [[Pass]]
Razputin woke up a few moments latter feeling much more relaxed. He walked back to his seat reopening the book. their was a crease on the page in the corner but nothing that was easily discernible as a flaw in the book. He looked at the hand seal focusing one his hands. He took it one at a time like he had with his other hands. After he put the sign in his memory running over all three several time so he would remember them faster. At last his third hand sign was completed.
Roll = 15 - 1 = 14 [[Pass]]
