"Isiah... Why are you lying down...? You don't look that tired..."
But Tsurai was exausted. He could just feel the ghosts of vultures circling around him.

The eighteen year old started to get up but lost interest quickly, falling back down. "I don't think we should lay here... Not here... We should try to get there before night... Or else we'll freeze," Tsurai hoarsed.

Of course, despite him saying that, he doubted he could actually get up.
"The more we lie here, the harder it'll be to get up.." Tsurai said.

Well, that sounded familar.
Tsurai attempted to get up again, but didn't get more than three inches from the ground.
He was done.

He felt like a dead, overworked horse. Lame.

Isiah grunted. "There's no way we'll cover twenty miles in one day. Not unless we're running. And we had a late start." He sat up, painfully, pulling the jacket off of his face and laying it back on top of the duffle. He grunted with effort as he stood, taking Tsurai's good hand and lifting him at least onto his knees. "C'mon, kid..."

This is why he didn't want to lie down in the first place. But since Isiah had done it, Tsurai just figured he'd follow suite.
Idiocy at it's finest, right there.

Tsurai's upperbody wasn't much to work with, but his legs were alright. Atleast for the time being, anyway.
With obvious struggle, the boy got up, and managed to stand for a minute.

"I'm gonna pass out..." Tsurai groaned. He could feel it. Maybe not now, but sometime soon.
"And when I wake up, I don't think I'm gonna remember anything between now and..." Tsurai tried to think back at what happened at night.

"... Breaking that guy's neck. So I'm just gonna..." WIth a groan of discomfort he started walking, holding his stomach.
"Apologizze right now for waking up an a**, cause I had a few revelations within that time that... Made me realize what an a** I am. So sorry."

Isiah grunted, watching Tsurai struggle. What's another two hours? The sun would go down by then. He could carry Tsurai for a measley two hours. He readjusted the duffle on his shoulder, heftin Tsurai up, laying him across his shoulders like a yoke. "Don't struggle, okay? It just makes it harder." He paused for a moment to readjust Tsurai's meager weight before continuing onward.

"Isiah..." Tsurai grumbled.
"This.. Is more uncomfortable than walking. SO let me just... You're carrying everything anyway..."

Tsurai looked down and decided although he wanted to get down, he better let Isiah do it for him.

Isiah adjusted him on his shoulders again in an attempt to make him more comfortable before trudging forward, pushing step by step as best he could. He was tired of watching Tsurai struggle- the meager 'meal' he had earlier gave him enough extra strength to carry him. Tsurai wasn't all that heavy anyway. He had certainly lugged much worse.

"Stop squirming."

Tsurai finally gave up and growled.

"Listen. If you're so intent on carrying me, because it looks like you are, could you atleast do it in your arms? Because this... Is just... Awkward."

He sighed, ducking his head to pull Tsurai over his shoulders and into his arms instead. "I thought it'd probably be a lot less hot if there was less body contact. Sorry."

He trudged on for four hours before the sun had begun it's final decent, the sky burning in a s**t-red-pink as the cloud burnoff reacted abnormally to it's dying rays. He plopped down onto his a**, Tsurai with him, setting the boy down next to him before laying down on his back, sighing with relief.

Tsurai Felt really guilty about being carried like this. He just felt really guilty in general.

But he still managed to get some sleep, albeit sparingly, in the four hours he was carried. He was still in that sleep, untilt he sun went down and Tsurai was put on the ground.

Still too tired to get up, he only asked if they were there yet.
But, after opening his eyes, he knew they weren't, and he shivered slightly.

He was going to get sick again if he didn't eat any more food. Tsurai was such a wimp when it came to being cold.

But he still wasn't hungry, either.

"Hey, Isiah..." He said, flopping on his back. "Gonna sound childish. But do you think you could feed me? I don't think I can move... Too much... And I'm kind of afraid to try and.. exert.. or whatever that huge word you seem to like using is... myself."

Isiah's voice cracked, dry and tired from disused. "Exascerbate." He sat up, painfully, digging through the duffle. "Well.. I got us some canned fruit this morning.. and some canned meat, and friggin' spam. I knew friggin' spam would survive the nuclear holocaust." He grunted. Spam was so, so disgusting. "Any preference? Got some snot soup too."

Tsurai forced a laugh at the spam joke.

"Wel.. Might as well work at the spam, then. Not like anything's going to taste good anyway."

Tsurai chuckled. Spam tasted like catfood. It wasn'tt hat hard to take down... Not like tuna.

Tsurai grunted and tried to atleast sit up. He didn't move anywhere, so it just looked like he was acting constipated. Grrreaaat.

"Looks like I've exascer... Whatevered... Myself. I'm never going to get that word."
PostPosted: Wed May 25, 2005 3:50 pm

"Don't worry about it. I thought I was gonna be an english major." He peeled open the can, making a scoop similar to how he had done earlier, turning in the sharp edges carefully. Spam had the.. easily.. cuttable quality that made sharp edges not that much of a necessity. Isiah turned toward Tsurai, crossing his legs indian style- well, he wasn't terribly flexible, so he did as best as his plank-like appendages would let him, laying Tsurai's head on his thigh to prop him up. "How bigga bite do you want?"

"Uch. God. I don't know. Whatever youd o, it's just gonna slide down my throat anyway."
He grimaced at the mention of that.

"This feels... So... Gah. I've never been an invalid before... Learn something new everyday..."

He laughed a little. "I stop at changing the bedpan, okay?" He scooped out a piece of the foul smelling stuff, placing it in Tsurai's open mouth, making a face just at the smell. Despite how gross it was he was still intensely hungry and that even made SPAM attractive.

Tsurai chuckled but then took the spam and swalloed it quickly.
He already wanted to chuck it back up. But he grunted and said, "Just give me the whole thing.."
