He blinked at the girl and smiled slightly. "Thanks," he whispered, scooping up some of the trash into the bin. "You didn't need to help," he told her when it was all cleaned, "but it was nice of you. The name's Kilik." He held out a hand to shake hers. Flareon had jumped from the booth to examine her as well.

Jaeshan watched the two for a moment, his gaze turning towards the Flareon as it jumped down to investigate. "A little garbage never hurt anyone," Jaeshan joked, making his way over as well. "Is that your Flareon? Fine looking Pokemon," he added, smiling at Flareon.

"You're welcome!" Ryka said happily, shaking Kilik's hand. "My name's Ryka. It's a pleasure to meet you." Ryka looked over her shoulder at Jaeshan approaching. She turned her gaze to the Flareon he had pointed out. "Aww, it's adorable!" She stated, bending over and putting her hand out for it to sniff.

Kilik looked at the boy after he finished shaking her hand. "Thank you," he said, looking down at the Flareon. The Fire pokemon was sniffing Ryka's hand, and he then gave it a small lick. Kilik looked over his shoulder at the Egg, which was sitting on the table by itself. "Hold a sec," he stated. He ran over to the table, snatched up the Egg and his bag. On his way back over, he stuffed it into his backpack. "I must say, kid," he looked at the boy, "your Mightyena looks like quite a contender. Wonderful coat of fur he has." Kilik nodded.

"He's tough," Jaeshan nodded, raising an eyebrow at being called 'kid.' "Name's Jaeshan, nice to meet you." He extended a hand, his curiosity rising. Kilik... he thought to himself. I know that's familiar somehow. "So what brings you to Vermilion?" he asked casually. "Us, we're here to challenge Lt. Surge for a badge."

"Yeah, it's harder for them to sneak attack a group." Mike chimed in, following Kassie. "But a single person can disapear." He looked around, the hallway seemed to stretch on forever. Mike giggled at the thought of releasing Titanium in here and doing some remodeling.
Mike's backpack seemed to be getting a little warmer, as the egg no doubtidly rustled around.

"I like the thought of staying together," Kasiya repeated, trying to pretend she wasn't scared. As they crept down the hall, she came upon a door. She put her finger to her lips, and called softly. "Nina?" as she opened the door. Then, blushing a little, she shut it again.
"What was in there?" Flannery asked curiously.
"Broom closet," Kasiya replied sheepishly, and lead them down the hall. They came to a familiar room, Kasiya remembering it being the one Giovanni had summoned a hidden stair case in. "Now how did he do it?" she mumbled, and clapped. Nothing happened. "Hmm." She wandered over to a bookshelf, and prodded each book firmly. A cleverly disguised switch clicked as she pressed on one of the books, and the staircase was revealled. "I guess this is the emergency button," she shrugged, and pointed at the stairs. "These lead to Giovanni's office," she added. "Let's go."

Mike followed closely, clicking the automatic option on his gloves. "This can't kill but they're bound to send them running." He laughed, for once happy at one of his mother's inventions. He shushed himself, sticking close to Flannery. 'I'll protect you!' He mouthed to her, a coy smile on his lips. He gentely interlocked his arm with her's, shaking. Was it from fear or the tremor in his heart?

'Yeah, but who will protect you?' Flannery mouthed back, smiling. She could feel him shaking, but she couldn't be sure why. I thought he loved thrashing Rockets, she thought, making a move to follow Kasiya.
Kasiya, already tired of her 'fearless leader' act, put her hand on the banister, urging herself to go forward. She glanced behind her to make sure Mike and Flannery were right behind them, in time to see them talking to each other with silent words, arms linked. She turned her head sharply, bit her lip, and pressed on, starting to climb the stairs. The made no sound as they climbed, and once they arrived at the top, a solid, oak door greeted them, as if it had never been damaged. She reached out and touched the brass-coloured knob, but didn't turn it, as she had a sudden flash back of the Espeon's Psybeam striking her in the chest. And then she fell, in a shower of broken glass... Her other hand closed around Fang's Pokeball, and she grit her teeth. "Ready?" she said to Mike and Flannery, without turning to look at them.

"Heh, small world," he shook Jaeshan's hand. "Looks like we're here for the same reason, bucko." Flareon hopped onto his trainers shoulder and barked happily. "Once I get my Scizor, we're going to be off," he looked at Flareon and smirked, "And this time, Surge is going down, right?" The Pokemon barked happily and the Egg in his bag gave a slight wiggle.

Mike thought for a moment at Flannery's question. He shrugged, 'Doesn't matter, I just don't want you getting hurt.' He looked down, a vulnerable look on his face. Pulling his arm away gently, he reached for Xanthos' Pokeball, gripping it tight. There were only two things on the boy's mind: Inflict some lasting damage, and protect his friends. Mike looked over at Flannery; he'd feel so guilty if even a piece of plaster fell on her.
"Ready set."

Kasiya nodded, still not looking at the two, and turned the knob. No surprises there, it was locked. "Well, we've done it once before," she said, nodding at her Sandslash, who'd kept quite close to her, "and we'll have to do it again. Brick Break that door, Digger!" Kasiya said, her voice hushed, as she took a few steps back. Digger got low to the ground, as he readied himself. Then, with a surprisingly quick burst of speed, the Sandslash was leaping at the door, his long claws extended. He hit the door once, near the top, again, near the bottom, and followed up by spinning around in mid-air and kicking it with both of his hind legs at once. The door burst inward, off its hinges, in a shower of splinters. The door lay in several pieces, with a very pleased-looking Sandslash perched on top of it. "Great job!" Kasiya cheered, and Digger ran back over to her, waving both clawed limbs in the air. She picked him up and hugged him, putting him back down quickly. "You weren't so heavy as a Sandshrew," she laughed, recalling him safely into his Pokeball and stepping into the office.

"Sakura! Watch out!" Anna yelled, as she rushed in front of the Aerial Ace attack, taking it head-on. She faltered for a moment as she was knocked asunder, but regained her composure after a few seconds. She frowned at the Absol. "You think you're so smart, don't you?" she said. "That was a nice try and all, but not quite nice enough." Anna closed her eyes and concentrated for a moment, as both she and Absol's health was equally adjusted by use of Pain Split.
"Oh, crap!" Sakura said, as she ran madly away from the Tyrannitar that was charging at her. "Wait," she said, "idea!" Through a moment or two of concentration, Sakura used Sunny Day to brighten up the room, by use of an almost identical source of the real sun. Due to her Chlorophyll ability, the Gloom's speed increased, and she was able to outrun the overgrown dinosaur.
Krystal turned her attention to the Absol, and an annoyed expression became present on her face. Without saying a word, the Dragon Pokemon spun around in circles multiple times, and had created a small amount of electricity; it was just strong enough for a Thunder Wave. She loosed it at the Absol, hoping for it to strike.

Giovanni smirked, walking a few steps backwards from the battle. Tyranitar let out a roar and stood tall, stomping its feet. Absol growled lightly, taking the Pain Split. However, it jumped in the air, narrowly avoiding the Thunder Wave. "Block out the sunlight, Tyranitar!" Giovanni called out, "Sandstorm!" From the holes on its body and from its mouth, the dinosaur let out a load of sand the spun furiously around the room. Tyranitar disappeared behind the sand. Absol jumped into the air, its eyes stinging from the Sanstorm.
Absol reared its head back and set out another Aerial Ace, throwing it in the direction of the Gloom once more.

"A Scizor?" Jaeshan nodded. "Nice." He made his way back over towars the counter, eagerly awaiting the return of his Pokemon. Surge is going to be a busy man, he thought, drumming his fingers on the countertop. 3 battles. Tomorrow, most likely, he thought, noting the time. The last few days had seemed to take forever.
