Speaking of the Rock Thrower....He was still yelling at the Rook of course, and had infact scooped up several rocks, hurling them up at the creature with his one working arm quite well." Come on motha' ********'! What'choo got?!" As his anger increased, his cognitive faculties decreased and language went out the window. He wasn't sure what this damn blot in the night was, but he'd be Damned if he was going to let it get at his friends or get away with sending him all over the road.
" Get down here right ********' now!" Damion had caught the flash of red and was now aiming for that specifically, scooping and throwing rocks he made at that elusive target. He figured his left arm was simply dislocated, and it was, and would likely fix that in amoment, if the thing didn't find what it was looking for or him.

HonoRaven She glanced at the mage with a dazling smile as she leaned back and twisted in Anuksu's lap in ways that a proper lady would never have even contemplated as she reached out to snag a corner off the mage's sandwich. "If you ask him nicley I bet he would be willing to explain the mathematics of it...but unless you plan on selling your soul to a god or two I doubt that you would be able to pull it off on your own without some serious prep work in advance.""Mathematics?" A dull expression crossed Scarker's face, then he started blinking quickly. "That... Might make sense..." The 'corner' that Hono grabbed ended up being a half of the sandwich, cleanly cut with a small bit of energy. The last bit off the sandwich was stuffed quickly into the mage's mouth as a small notebook and a pen slid out of his pocket and his hands flew to them. For those keeping score at home, you'll remember there was a rod he was twirling through his hand. That rod continues to twirl, it just happened to leave his hand when his hand left the space that he was twirling in. It's now hanging in the air, spinning furiously. As for what the mage was doing with the notebook... Let's just say that he was showing off his geometry skills to himself. Symbols, diagrams, and equations were quickly covering the pages. Hono might be able to regognize some of what he was drawing as arcane in nature, but he was making too many of them too quickly to figure out much more than that. After a time of this (it didn't take long, but the notebook was just over half full) He stopped and grabbed the rod and a strange, small hook-like object out of his pocket. A cover from one end of the rod was flung off (to hang in the air at the mage's shoulder) while his hands were working deftly, with the hook and the pen, inside the hole that the missing cap made. If Hono twisted slightly (Anuksu might have a better view) she may be able to catch the glint of tiny metal threads in a very... chaotic pattern inside the rod. Scarker's prodding only seemed to increase the chaotic pattern. "If I'm right about this, I won't be quite so useless after all. Oh this is going to be so fun if I get it right!" He paused a moment in thought. "If I get it wrong... not so much. So let's get this right, shall we?!" He quickly went back to work, hook and pen twisting and prodding their way within the rod's filaments as he started humming a little tune.

Once Max and Rae had moved to the roof Lucind tried hard to show a less haphazard driving style.
And then...there was a ramp.
Knowing about its source she headed straight toward it, even pushing the gas a bit more.
"Okay, and what happens no---"
And then, there were wings.
And they were good.
Grinning broadly despite the fact this was still a critical situation - who knew what this shade would come up with next -, the Siren eagerly tried out the new ways the steering was working after the transformation. This resulted in a few unexpected jolting movements, each accompanied with a new grin and a "Whoops" or "Sorry".
"I've got it now. Really. - Sooo, you wanna hit it, huh? 'Kay, let me see..."
Nodding at Sun, Lucind guided the raven-hummer in a neat dive towards the shade, though not directly headed at the thing. She hoped that the magically formed flying vehicle would watch it's wing while she navigated it close to the trees.

First Damion, now Max stealing his thunder?
"You asses!"
Seriously though, Laz was happy the guys could do something about the current situation. He considered the car's change, and what kind of intense magic it took to make them fly.
A sigh. "It's not even... looking for us anymore. It cracked the earth to get someth--" Lazenca leaned hard out of the window, not sure if the wind would cover his words, but he may as well try. "Uhh.... Damion!" Didn't know the guy, but they'd already said his name. "You see anything down there worth keeping away from the Rook?"

As a side effect of using the series of living things that made this Carbird possible, the radio kicked on. Static buzzed through as it adjusted itself and in a few seconds, there was a song... I just wanna fly....Higher, higher, higher, high, high, high... Oh, I'm sure proper therapy Lu will learn to forgive me.
Max said in return. It was an odd feeling letting someone inside your mind for a conversation, odder still that he was a very poor psychic and required and egregious amount of concentration just to form thoughts into something similar to verbal communication. So instead, he spoke back. Put your arms around me, baby, put your arms around me, baby... You know...that does make a kind of sense. Shade, shadow, darkness..but...hmmm...He turned to Raven with a grin. A grin that spread ear to ear and said nothing but trouble was filling the mind behind it. His mismatched black and white eyes slowly slid away from her for a moment as if he was pondering this very deeply before, as if he hadnt a care he said. You know, I havent a clue.I just wanna fly...Like a birdie in the sky up so high... That was of course something that, with all of Maximos' reading and studying and history of adventuring, came rarely, and when it did come. It was met with what Raven saw. A sort of deep child-like spongy curiosity. And an eagerness put forth in that fact.... I suppose we'll find out soon enough!Put your arms around me, baby, put your arms around me, baby... And almost as if fated, Lucind's hands graced the Car-bird's controls and it seemed to give at her touch, the steering wheel loosened, and seemed to almost push into her hands. Sort of like a dog nuzzling into ones hands to be petted. Maximos' right hand clutched Ankokuko tightly, and jerked it forward as sort of white plume of incandescence drifted from his right eye. Damion was shouting something, and Wulf called something out of the car, but over the sound of whooshing air, Max only hear a blurb of it. The massive bird took Lucind's direction like any good car would. It reared back its mighty head, which would of course require a shift in the cabin, and it let out a shrill cry. This seemed like something of a cross between a raven's squawk, though naturally much louder, and the sound of car engine revving furiously. The two sounds swirled together in a wholly unnatural combination and tore the sky easily. I....just want...
Grow your wing and fly
...To fly...

Damion could, infact, hear Lazenca, how was a mystery but there it was in his ear." Say huh?" Something it was looking....maybe. The earth elemental paused and fell into the earth mentally, letting his magical new senses search the earth. If there was, he might feel it, but he was always one who felt better by looking with his eyes. So he did the only thing open to him....he ran towards the Rook and it's searching singular eye.
" Freaky cyclops."

Music blaring the Jeep spiralled in for a swoop, and from the ground the elemental dove in to fight.
In the distance, a few miles away from ground zero, a brilliant flash would light up the sky enough to be seen even through the lights of Gambino itself, even, dimly, towards Barton, and even Reen, should anyone have looked.
And then all was darkness. It was hard to tell who had one and who had lost, because there was nothing left but a crater. There was no sign of the second group left, nor of the Rook that had detained them.
The forest resumed it's night time courses of action, showing that nature was pretty adaptable if push came to shove.

Ah, clear skies and clearer waters. Even as winter reared its ugly head, the isle stayed a beautiful, warm paradise until the very last days of Autumn. The water was too cold to swim, but the air was fine enough to wear nothing more than long sleeves, and the occasional scarf for the sake of fashion.
Down a boulevard, a lone man walked. Already, christmas carols were stuck in his head, and he was absently whistling them with his arms full of paper grocery bags. Jericho was not wearing the fashionable scarf, but he was wearing a hooded, longsleeved black shirt ... with surfer shorts.
Winter fashion misstep aside, he totally couldn't see where he was going with those huge bags.

A small woman was meandering at her own pace down the lane, enjoying one of the last few warm days of the season with the hood of her cloak thrown back. She was looking around at the shops and other fancy things she passed.
"I wonder if I should get a new whetstone," she mumbled aloud. "Or maybe anothe-- UMFF!"
In her absent-minded window shopping, she hadn't noticed her bootlace coming untied and had promptly stepped on it, earning herself some skinned palms and the wind knocked out of her as she faceplanted on the cobblestones.
"... ow," she wheezed.

Jericho peeked what he would between his colossal shoppings. His ears had not failed him: a damsel had just kissed earth, only a few feet before him. It took the young man a few seconds to react, not used to people falling down on the sidewalk as he neared them, but soon enough, he made himself helpful.
"Are you okay?"
Awkwardly, Jericho set down his bags. They somehow managed to defy gravity enough to stay standing, and he reached to offer a hand to the sprawled woman.

She coughed a little, wincing as her lungs remembered how to work again. Pushing up from the ground some, she took the offered hand and hauled herself to her feet. Her warm, brown hair fell forward across her face; with a practiced gesture, she combed it back with her fingers. It fell back into thick waves almost to her waist.
"... uh, yeah. I'm alright. Thanks." Avoiding his eyes, she brushed herself off, trying not to smear the blood from her hands on her clothes, especially not on her cloak. "I should..." she started. ...change my name to Clumsy. "Uh... probably get cleaned up somewhere."
Taking stock of herself, the only real damage was to her hands. She gingerly picked a small pebble out of her flesh, dropping it with an odd look.

"That was quite a plunge." He took a quick look at the woman's hand, scraped quite thoroughly, then at his own, reddened by the lady's blood. He quickly hid it away, in case she might worry about about dirtying in, and looked around him.
"Oh, there!" Jericho pointed at a tiny building, marked with a white "i" over a blue background. "That's a tourist info booth. They have bathrooms, and probably a first aid kit. Are your legs hurt?"

"Yeah, I-- I'm a little clumsy sometimes," she stuttered. The bleeding wasn't too bad; she hadn't left skidmarks on the ground, anyway. She looked down to make sure, just in case. Why was he wearing shorts? Weird...
"Huh? Oh." Looking in the direction he marked, she saw said booth, then looked down at her knees. "Uh... no. I'm okay. Thanks, though."
She blushed a little, embarassed at herself. Her fingertips toyed with the hem of her shirt, untucked and a little long on her, even if it was a lovely shade of green. "I uhm... I didn't catch your name."

It took hi nearly half a minute to get both overly full bags into his arms, but before long, Jericho was ready to follow. He wanted to get his hands cleaned and to make sure the lady was alright He was a nice guy after all.
"Humph," bags, "I'm Jericho." He said his own name in a strange accent, rolling the R a bit, as if it wasn't meant to be pronounced in english. "Sorry if I don't shake your hand or anything, they're just ... erm, and you are, miss ..?"

As he gathered his things, she bent to tie her bootlace. By the time he was done, she was as well.
"Merdice," she replied, pronouncing it like 'mehr-DEE-chay'. "It was nice to meet you." At that point, she expected him to go on his way, but he looked prepared to come with her. She coughed a little and started toward the booth slowly.
"Shopping spree?" she asked, gesturing at the bags.
