Faeruithir TTMSHU do any of you eldar players use in 1000pt games 1 avatar 2 Wraithlords 2X5 Dark Reapers 2X6 Banshee's That army i vs'ed was a killer considering i play SM's my eldar army laughs at the SM. starcannons and a squad of reapers (i converted a missle launcher for him to carry - that means 2 krak missles that hit on 2+). im currently modifying my falcon so that it has a starcannon instead of the scatter laser that comes with it. buy a wave serpent weapon sprue it has one of each optional weapon on it. Then you can switch them out how you want...

i've got a question: i was thinking about getting a viper and was wondering what to put on it? do you think its even worth getting a viper for a Biel-Tan army?
currently i've got a squad of scorpians, squad of banshees, 32 gardians w/ weap. plat., farseer, 5 warlocks, squad of spiders, squad of reapers, 7 rangers, fire prism, falcon, wave serpent, wraithlord, avatar
i know that what i want to get next is another serpent (2 if i can afford it) a squad of fire dragons and a squad of hawks. i'd like to know if based on this army thus far, is it worth getting a viper? and if so, what to put on it?

Faeruithir Unit1294 Ghost, if your going to focus on range, why not get more reapers? only one? it just doesn't seem fitting. oh, and check out the war walkers too. even though alot of people might not use them to much, when you consider that they come in squads of 3 and can have 2 starcannons each (or whatever else you'd put there), thats not all that bad... anywy, check it out if you feel like it. Its a little thing called lack of money. Which hopefully if i get throug the program I'm in it'll get me 1k to spend on 40k first (eldar and witch hunters) May get into fantasy (deciding on either Wood Elves or Skaven)and Epic Armageddon (Eldar or Titan Leagions) Oh and paint and codexs.

Eldar can be ok but u can easily lose touch with the fun aspect of them and make them a winning force with no variantion, the banshee list for example with an army of banshees all in wave serpents very beardy...

Do not rely on them.

Vypers are great if you got alot of cover and always give them CM and a star cannon, that means they cost about 95 pts but its worth it. Trust me, I've only got one, with a Bs of 3 he doesn't hit all the time but when he does it almost an assurd kill, they move faster than weapons platforms and can still fire, great if you need more starcannons and want to increase your army's range attack. Also most people ignore them and shoot for the falcon, but if someone actually guns for them they're dead, because they are incredibly weak.

Do not rely on them. Yeah Howling Banshees you dont want ot rely on them too much. Sure you can have a squad full of power weapons, but at strenght 3 you need fives against Space Marines. With the new rules I'd go for Striking Scorpions, becuase they can infiltrate. But I'm purposly barring mymself from using close combat specialists. Wraithlord and farseers that it.

I'm new here. Anyone spair some advice for a guy looking to buy his first models. I'm trying to be economical, so anything that wouldn't be useful with a larger army probably isn't a good idea. I'm especially lost on the whole worldcraft thing. I really don't know who to play.

You do not need to go with A Craftworld idea for right now, wait on that until you know what you are really doing. As it stands, if you have A spare $110, you can get A usable army, that will be able to feild about 750 points, with relative ease. Just buy the army box. If you cannot do that, then go with A box of Defenders, and A Farseer, and that will tide you over for now. But I would go with the other if I were you. 3nodding

I left a long response to you on the TT forum. Also certain craft worlds have certain aspects. Some rely on jet bikes and speed but lack ranged support. Saim haiin. Some have elitest choice units and fewer numbers biel tan. One is a stealthy infiltrating but lacks Close Combat. Alaitoc. One is superior in there psychic prowess but lacks "warriors" ulthwe. (Most used and balanced) One has very few numbers and is nearly extinct according to fluff but have awsome fire power Iyanden. I suggest strait eldar until you learn to attack and live with them. Eldar are hard to play but once mastered unstoppable...

The battle group is the message I'm getting from just about everyone. It looks interesting, though. Does anyone have a suggestion on the paint scheme?
