((Sorry, I was waiting to see if HoidToid wanted to get a post in, sorry...))

Kayoe was still upset, but was greatly relieved that Zera had managed to run before he got to the point where he would pursue her. There was one time where he had chased a man a few miles because of his curse, and he sure wasn’t proud of it. While it was good that Zera was out of danger he wasn’t sure about his traveling companions. His emotional state was unstable and he was very likely to get angry with all the hormones still raging. There seemed to be one solution that would let everyone stay safe, although he wasn’t overly fond of it.
“Sorry,” He said as he turned to the others, “I’m going to have to be a burden on you for a while.” With the precision of someone who had done this many times before, Kayoe smacked himself with the broad side of his own sword, rendering himself unconscious.

((If anyone else is up to going on then I am, if you guys need me to RP with while Kayoe is unconscious then Zera can show up again (she knows Kayoe well enough to know what he’ll do, and that it would be safe to come back in a few minutes). This is a group role-play so, while I can do one on ones, if it will just be me and Je suis a toi, it wont be worth doing. (It’s not you, the story line just seems to lend itself to a team thing, rather than two people.)

But Tanyeera seems like she’s just waiting on Aranai, (not to speak for you or anything sweatdrop ) it can be troubling when a certain person that you need answer from drops out, or is really busy as the case may be...))

((You can go ahead and bring Zera back if you would like.

I'm perfectly willing to keep the RP going as long as we get more team effort. As Shadowone said, we can't keep this thing going with only two people. It is unfortuante that the person we need interaction with is not available, but can we try and find a way around this and keep going?))

Adencia shifted back quickly and knelt next to Kayoe.

“Crap.” She murmured to herself, “This makes things more complicated.”

She took his sword from his hand and sheathed it. Adencia understood why he did what he did; there just couldn’t be a more inappropriate time. They had to get camped by sundown and having to carry someone would slow them a bit. Adencia looked back to Thorn then to the trail where they had come from. Isarelle was just now leading the horse out into the clearing with the others following behind.

Adencia turned her attentions back to Kayoe and turned his head to the side. He had hit himself pretty hard, obviously hard enough to knock himself out. He wasn’t bleeding or anything but one could be guaranteed that he’d be feeling some pain when he woke up.

Isarelle looked around to see where the three others had gone off to and caught them off to the side. There was standing Thorn and Adencia bent over Kayoe. Expecting the worst she let go of the horse’s reigns and ran to them.

“What happened?!” she asked quickly.

“Kayoe’s curse.” Adencia said blatantly. Isarelle would have liked a little more explanation but that was all Adencia really had to say.

“Is he alright?”

“He’ll be fine, he’s just unconscious.” Adencia answered, then looked up at the sky. Already the day was wearing on and the morning was fading into afternoon, “We have to get going if we are to reach our destination. We can have him carried by the horse. There was a girl with him just before you all got here. It seems that they knew each other well. I’m hoping she’ll return and help us.”

Isarelle nodded grimly and looked up to the fallen tree. “Did Kayoe do that?”

“Yes.”

“Do you think someone should go after this girl he was with?”

Adencia shook her head, “I didn’t see which direction she went. She could already be out of the forest for all I know.”

[[I'm sorry about tha I had to put my dog down late last week, her kidneys failed, yes it was the contaminated dog food. I don't really want to talk about it but I'm back now sorry for any problems I caused]]

((Oh, sorry to hear that, it's fine, I have two dogs myself, I also had to put one down a while back, it sucks...))

((Oh no, don't apologize. That one was out of your hands and it is completely understandable that you wanted a break. I was just worried that everyone had quit on me! You didn't cause any problems, really, I was just making sure everyone was still in on this with me.))

Kayoe almost stirred as the sword left his hands, had he been asleep naturally he would have been awake in an instant, but because he had been knocked out, all that happened was some reflexive muscle contractions. He didn’t wake up to hear what was said about him.

“That horse won’t carry him; you would have better luck convincing a unicorn to bear him then a domesticated animal.” The elf girl appeared again in a different tree, and looked down at Kayoe. “...Idiot,” Zera jumped down to Kayoe’s side and sighed, “he’s going to give himself brain damage one of these days.” With strength that was greater than a normal female elf, Zera managed to lift Kayoe up and onto her back. She was strong but like Kayoe in that her mussels were really more efficient than unusually large, trained that way so that they would have force behind there blades without being slowed down by extra weight or presenting a bigger target.
“And he says he still needs to sharpen his skills, why did he go and do this then I wonder?” Zera was more muttering to herself then anyone else in the area she then turned to face the two other women nearby. “I’ll carry him, I can’t fight this weighed down, but I can keep up.” She paused for a moment then remembered something she turned to Isarelle, “I don’t believe you were here before, I am called Zera”

((Sorry, I guess it is just a bit silly to wait on one person. Its just that I'd like an answer to the question and I'm afraid if I post anything else, the question'll be ignored.

But you're right, the continuation of the roleplay should come before me asking questions. Again, sorry about not posting.))

Tanyeera forgot about her question to Aranai as she spotted an unconscious Kayoe with Thorn and Adencia bending over him. About to call out an inquiry, Isarelle beat her by a matter of seconds and she listened carefully in to the conversation.

Finally she said, "The horse is already burdened by our supplies, it would go even slower if it had to carry him too. Plus there's the matter of having to tie him to the saddle to keep him from falling off. Why not let me carry him? At the rate we're walking, I should be able to handle his weight just fine."

((Sorry. I was just having difficulty finding a way to slide into the action without being just a loose end. I see it now.))

Cerdik had watched the duel between Kayoe and Zera with silent awe. Their proficiency, speed, and elegance was indescribable and quite possibly unmatchable. They had to have known each other well for there was no other explanation for that display of prowess.

Still impressive-- although not nearly as amazing to Cerdik as the duel had been-- was Kayoe's ability to bring down the tree with a single swing. The phrase "physically impossible" had just been stretched a few miles within Cerdik's mind.

And now Kayoe had gone and incapacitated himself and Zera had returned. She said she could not fight while carrying such a weight, and seeing as Kayoe was unconscious, it seemed unintelligent to burden one of the more capable fighters with the task of lugging a body around. Timid as he was, Cerdik knew when to be assertive, although he often failed in coming across as confident as he wished. Slowly, he walked forward.

"It be a waste of your prowess, expending energy on the haul of Kayoe's form. You be far more adept in battle than most of us. I will support him so that you may be unrestricted if the need so arises. Please, allow me to grasp this opportunity in aiding the troupe."

Tanyeera looked at his diminutive form doubtfully. "Forgive me Cerdik, I do not mean to deny you your chance to aid, but I must ask... are you certain you can handle the weight? And do not worry about my fighting prowess, I have been trained to be capable of fighting, no matter how burdened down I am. My hands may be occupied, but I will still be able to use my feet if battle proves necessary."

She knew she could too. Kicks, especially kicks in various tender spots and weak points, were an excellent means of taking down an enemy. If you used your feet right, punches and general participation from the arms could be simple overkill.

Zera nodded in agreement, she had seen people who used their feet to fight before, it could be quite fearsome.
“It would seem that letting err... I’m sorry, err... you carry him would be for the best. Our style mandates speed and skill above most else, but if you are capable of fighting while carrying him, where I am not...” Zera walked over to Tanyeera, and although slightly reluctantly, offered her load to her. “Don’t do anything reckless.” She said as she handed Kayoe over. Zera then turned to the group in general.
“For those of you who I have yet to introduce myself to, I am Zera. In all honesty I’m not quite the warrior Kayoe is, but I feel responsible for Kayoe incapacitating himself, and will try to make up for his absence in the meantime.”

“It’s very nice to meet you, Zera . . . Well . . .” Isarelle began, “I’m sure it won’t matter who carries him. We’re still in the forest now and for centuries these trees have been quite safe. We will not need combative aide until we get out of the forest and into the clearings. Brigands and bandits and whatnot. And even they are not much of a threat to such a big group. I can almost guarantee that our travels through the forest will be safe through the day.”

Isarelle looked to every face – all those standing and then to Adencia who was still kneeling. The young elf appeared to be under a stress of a kind, her head bowed and her body stiff.

“Adencia?” Isarelle questioned.

“I’m. Fine.” Adencia cringed. She had felt it before as she first stepped out into the clearing. As her strength was regained and transforming abilities returned to her she was under the threat of experiencing another uncontrollable one. Though this time she could not fight it because of the toll it would take on her body. She would not be able to travel with the rest in a bad state.

Adencia looked up to Isarelle and she understood. Isarelle could see it in her eyes. Isarelle gave her a curt nod and she stood up.

“Excuse me.” Adencia said hurriedly as she darted into the trees walking far enough so that she could see them but they could not see her.

This animal was not as strong as the wolf was and was not of as great a size. Its willpower was weak, though, and this told her she had attempted to break free of involuntary shifting into the creature before. Adencia thought quickly to what animals she had tried to master, having already mastered feline and serpent. But what else was she close to getting under her wing? That thought brought back to her mind what it was. Wing . . . Eagle.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 22, 2007 9:26 pm

Cerdik merely sighed and nodded. Of course, no one understood. He knew he couldn't carry the body physically, but with magic, he was far more than capable. He didn't argue the matter though. It was probably best that Tanyeera carry him. Still, he felt put down for being rejected in one of the few instances he was actually capable of assisting the group. He did his best to shrug it off and refocus on the task at hand. Adencia was worrying him with her sudden disappearance, but he trusted the others to know what to do with that situation. He just hoped that nothing serious came of it.

Isarelle watched Adencia disappear in the trees but continued to try and see her through the dense foliage. She certainly hoped it wasn’t too serious like what had happened back at the manor. She kept her eyes on the forest only catching a flutter of movement. It had seemed like a brief flapping of wings.

And she was right.

Soon after a majestic eagle came flying to the forest’s edge, alighting on a tree branch. Where did this creature come from, she wondered. They were not common in these parts. Then she knew it had to have been Adencia. Letting out a small sigh of relief she waved at the bird, feeling a bit silly in doing so, to see if her suspicions were correct.
-
Adencia’s shift took all of two seconds, but felt a bit longer for her. It would considering how she could feel every bone shift and feather grow. It wasn’t painful or anything, it just felt extremely strange. She would never get used to the feeling no matter how often she transformed.

Adencia was happy to have already worked on mastering the switch from human to eagle because now she could control the form somewhat. She knew which direction she wanted and the great bird flew that way. She went to the edge of the clearing and saw everyone. Isarelle waved to her slightly and Adencia let out a call.

Isarelle smiled slightly and the eagle took flight with a great flap of its wings.

Tanyeera hefted Kayoe and trotted along easily with the others. As she'd suspected, Kayoe was nowhere near heavy enough to burden her down much or prevent her from fighting. She supposed she ought to be grateful to the hell-camp she'd been raised in for that...

She cried out as the whip struck her again, stumbling and falling as she tripped over her own chains, the heavy ball she carried bruising her ribs.

"Get up. Get up and keep running until I say you can stop you pathetic excuse of a trainee."

Her heart roiling with a mix of hopelessness, desperation, fear, anger and hatred, she staggered upright once more, still carrying the heavy iron ball attached to the chains wrapped round her arms and legs, and began to run again, bracing herself for the next strike of the whip.

Tanyeera wrenched herself out of the memory and unknowingly quickened her pace a tad. Grateful? No, she'd never be grateful for that. What had brought that memory on anyway? She'd hardly thought of that bit of her past for eons....

A cold chill crept down her spine. "Oh s**t."

Swiftly scanning her own mind, she confirmed her fear. Darkness was stirring. Soon she'd wake and Tanyeera would have to be on guard against her every single second.

She sighed. "Lovely. This is going to be just like old times."

Zera walked along nervously she didn’t know what any of these people’s curses were, and honestly didn’t know if any of them had a chance of turning violent, like Kayoe. She saw Adencia run off, and saw the eagle appear and was able to put two and two together. It felt kind of weird not being cursed in this group. By being ‘normal’ she was the abnormal person in this group.

She would frequently take glances back at Kayoe to see how he was doing. She found herself doing it so often that she was slightly worried that she might be making Tanyeera uncomfortable. While it had made more sense to have Tanyeera carry Kayoe, Zera had kind of wanted to do it herself that way she could keep an eye on him at all times. She also wanted to know when he was about to wake up because she had yet to decide if she wanted to risk being in the area when he did...
