I realize there's a point to them transforming into cars and stuff on cybertron, I'm just saying it's more fun when you can't look at them and be like 'that thing could ******** me up' before you even KNOW it's a robot. I like 'Oh, hey, it's a cute little tape recor- OH MY GOD! NOOOO, NOT MY ARMS!!! AHHGHAHAHWOIFHAW!'

And Im telling you two things: One, that them keeping the same alternate forms forever would be lame. Can you really see Soundwave turning into a tape recorder in an animated series made today? Boo on that. Not to mention that 20 metre tall robots dont make cute little tape recorders.

And two: turning into an Earthen vehicle on Cybertron is also lame. Hence, on Transformers:Cybertron, they have Cybertronian forms. If you watched it, youd know that the jungle-like planet has insect and beast-like Transfomers. Guess what theyre like on the "Speed" planet. On prehistoric Earth, they had dinosaur forms. During the Industrial Revolution, Bumblebee is a steam locomotive for Oa's sake!

They turned him into a Stealth Bomber for Cybertron. Though in the movie he is going to be a six foot tall boom box.

Cool. Though I was shocked when I saw Shockwave, mind the accidental pun. They kept him so close to the original character it was astonishing.

Bull s**t. Soundwave is always the most badass as a tape recorder. Wouldn't it be funny if they made him an iPod for the new one? xd I've watched Cybertron. I dislike it for that very reason. They go places where disguises aren't needed. It bores me.
And no, giving them the same alternate forms wouldn't be boring if they would kill someone off once in a while like they should. Like in comics. Lots of people keep the same costume forever. I realize that may be hard for YOU of all people to grasp, but some people do. And then they die. And new people come along with new costumes and new powers. Like when Hotrod ascended to Rodimus. Badassitude, changing forms without just saying: 'Oh yeah, that tape recorder is now a plane'

OH! Okay speaking of which have you read the G.I. Joes/Transformers mini set in WWII? Soundwave is one of those honkin big remote phones. Guy who redesigned the characters got the idea from watching Simpsons and seeing the Gill character use one! xd

Oh and speaking of Hotrod, what kind of metal were his balls made of for him to get Optimus killed, assume the mantel of power, AND demand that everyone call him Rodimus?

But then what would he do like open his USB port and let out little pixelated things? Maybe a roll through different album covers that come to life. Hm...

"Nooo, not the iSock!" rofl I get the feeling that would just turn into a huge marketing ploy. Maybe a less well known MP3 player. Rio?

He would have to keep a visible clickwheel on his chest for maximum cool. As for accessories, imagine a Transformer with built in speakers. whee

Wrong, if Soundwave was a tape recorder in the movie, Paramount would never hear the end of it. And if you want them to keep the same forms, why do you turn around and say he should be an iPod in the movie.

Anyway, in Cybertron, not Transforming because they dont need to be incognito would be lame. Like I said, what good is being a Transformer if you dont Transform. Speed planet would be very boring indeed if they walked around all the time. xp

And I hate the revolving door of death in comics. Thank goodness it only afflicted the Transformers in the movie.

At least it's a logical progression. Like I said, HotRod to Rodimus= Ultimate Cool, but Soundwave to Airplane makes about as much sense as Geoff Johns to Mensa.

Soundwave was initially going to be a black ops helicopter that released minions for the movie, but fans kinda got pissed at that so more recently it was announced that he was changed to a very large boom box.
