Two of the Hyena's that had been surrounding Niobe had darted off to pick on the larger lion.
Benoni's head was high as he stood there, his eyes narrowed into tiny slits, his tail snapped out behind him. Then they attacked, a thrio upon his back, as two lounged at his throat, a couple danced around the attack laughing and watching..pacing back and forth.
Benoni let out a roar in anger as he fell upon his back, smashing the thrio back there. The sound of a skull cracking aiding in Benoni's stregnth as he reached down with his muzzle and shank his fangs into a hyena's muzzle, ripping his head backwards the upper jaw broke as the hyena then fell to the earth limp. At that time a pair of hyena's raced off, not liking the turn of things.
Standing back up, he growled low and deep as the pair on his back jumped off, only to attack his sides. The single male still clung to his throat, Benoni swung around, using the male like a club to knock into the others. With a whimper the hyena let go of his throat, only to attack once more. Benoni saw this coming, he brought his paw down upon the creatures head for a death blow. As the hyena fell, he then turned his attention back towards the pair attacking his sides...
His coat was wet with blood, his mane caked in his own and others as he turned and grabbed a hyena by the scruff of its neck and smashed it against the earth repeatedly.
The screams of the dying hyena caused the rest to skitter off back to they're own den to regroup. But before the second attacking hyena could get away, Benoni pounced him..breaking his neck as he bit down. He then tossed the beast into the grass.
Benoni then lifted his muzzle and let out a winning roar, warning all those who dared to attack...

Cayimmi could hear the echoes of the raging battle... Or was it his imagination? He could almost see his mighty hero fight the gruesome foes, his fur rising with brawling excitement. His paws shook, drawing more lines on the rocky floor while he paced around the entrance. With every sound that did reach his ears, the wish to join Benoni grew burning intensely.
It all seemed familiar in a way. Too familiar. Yet, Cayimmi trusted the grey lion from the bottom of his heart. Benoni wouldn't let it... And, this time, he'd make a difference, if they durst coming near the cave. He'd protect them with all he had... His family.
When the triumphant roar sounded, Cayimmi's anxiety turned into cheer glee. King Benoni had won, and they were all safe again! Rash and impatient, the purple cub dashed away of the den, heading as fast as his paws allowed him to congratulate Benoni's feat, ignoring whether there would still be any risk to him or not.

The scent of blood was heavy in the air, Benoni's eyes closed for a breif moment, his body was on fire, blood laids splattered all over the earth and tall grass. He opened his eyes and let out a snort, thick bellows of hot air rushed from his nose and mouth as he turned to head back towards the cave.
His family protected for another night, he felt proud in this moment. Though his body was badly wounded and bleeding, Benoni walked without a limp though his hips ached. The sight of a purple hued cub rushing towards him put him on alert once more...His instincts took over and he raced towards the cub. "Cayimmi!" he roared out as he then spied a hyena moving in on the cub, with a growl Benoni urged himself forward.

Upon hearing the roar, Niobe let go of the dead beast. Her ears perked forward as she listened, the cackles had died down, her eyes darted into the darkness as she then began to drag the gaezelle back towards the cave.
Her movements were jerky as she dragged it backwards, pausing every once in a while to pant and look around. She had no idea where Mandolin had gone off to, with a soft snort she continued onwards until she was backing into the cave, her prey clutched tightly within her jaws.
Niobe had returned, with a feast for the pride. She was proud of herself, she'd broughten this beast down basicly on her own. "Hello?" she called out as she turned to look at everyone...where was her brother?

Venya had closed her eyes, witnessing bits and pieces of what had happened. She was happy that her family was safe. As her eyes opened, she noticed that Cayimmi had left. She wanted to run after the cub, but she knew her intrusion would only make matters worse. As Niobe returned, the little cub came over to the lioness. "Lady Niobe, I congratulate you upon your hunt. Your brother, King Benoni, went to protect us...unfortunately a dark cloud is forming..." She gazed out toward where the purple cub had ran away. "Cayimmi had run to meet our King, but...I fear there may still be some laughing dogs around. I do pray everything is alright...." Her tail waved gently as a look of sincere worry marred her young face.

Cayimmi's joy gave in to confusion as he saw Benoni dash to him. Was there something he was missing? "What?" A question that was answered in a matter of seconds, as a faint chuckle behind him rang as an alarm on his ears. The cub only had time to try and leap to get his neck out of reach, the hyena's fangs grabbing his tail. Running for it before the wounded Benoni could lay a paw on the matter, the hyena pulled Cayimmi along, lifting him up, confident it hadn't been a lost night. Soon, it would be one less lion cub on the world that would grow and seek hyenas out and, in the meanwhile, fill in their stomachs... If only he wouldn't insist on that pitiful growl of his... Why couldn't prey just be quiet and lay limp? That's why it liked carcasses the most...
Interrupting the merry thoughts, Cayimmi made sure to prove he wasn't simply defenseless anymore. With a jolt of energy, combined with a survival instinct and his bitter rage, he reached out to one of the hyena's legs, sinking his fangs and claws deep, with unexpected strength. In pain, the once attacker let go of Cayimmi's tail, trying to shake him out. When he did, his muzzle was covered with blood, and an assassin spark was lit on the cub's golden eyes, eyeing the ripped muscles and broken bone. It surely hadn't been like one of those playful cub bites, with measured force. No, it was his chance to stand for himself, and Cayimmi was simply going to shine. No matter how foolish it was...

He watched as he neared, Cayimmi was trying to protect himself. Benoni could chuckle about it later, as he came to aid Cayimmi. He lefted a large paw, claws clearly unsheathed from his paw and tinted red from the blood of the others, he brought his paw down over the mutts muzzle in a jaw cracking blow.
Benoni let out a deep and low earth shattered growl as his ears pinned against his head, he'd wait to see if him and Cayimmi had scared this mangy mutt off or would he die in a thoughtless brawl of wits and stregnth.

Limping and with the jaw hanging comicly, the hyena whimpered away, joining the rest of it's fleeing pack. "Ha! And don't you come back again!" Cayimmi yelled to the distance, proud of himself. Aside from a bite mark on his tail and a few small scratches and bumps from being dragged over some sharp edges and rocks, he was more than fine, like always.
"You sure kicked their tails, Benoni!!" Cayimmi beamed, turning to the king with an ear to ear grin.

Glancing down at Cayimmi, Benoni grinned. " You shouldnt have came out here Cayimmi. Thank you for the help though...but its dangerous out here." He lifted his head, his eyes scanned the land, " Now its safe..." He nudged Cayimmi with his nose. "Lets go see if they've returned with some food. I'm starved.." he glanced down at Cayimmi as he lifted his head, standing his proud tall stature he padded forward, several of his wounds continued to bleed causing parts of his coat to darken into a red tinted black.
"Cayimmi is out there?!" Niobe's face turned into one of shock and alarm. She could hear what sounded like another battle, then it died out. Silence. Her heart raced within her chest as she glanced to Venya, she fought with herself, should she run out there and find him...or should she stay here and protect the pride here...With a deep breath, her eyes scanned the opening of the cave as she gave into a worried pace. Her brother was out there, so was Cayimmi... She shook her head and calmed herself. She'd be no good in a panic.
She turned and licked Venya's muzzle. "Come..lets find Fae and our Queen and eat...surely you all are starved." She smiled softly.

"Well, you just couldn't do everything alone, aight? I'm not that little and defenseless anymore..." Cayimmi stated, smirking cockily for a moment. Ha, I'm important! I did something right! he thought, his flakes twitching at the word food. "Yes!! Eat eat eat!" The cub prepared to dash away when his gaze was caught by Benoni's bloodied coat. "Those cuts look a little nasty..." he said, calming down and settling in a pace by the lion's side.

" I am thankful for your help. Hopefully you will become a strong warrior one day..." Benoni let the mention of his wounds drop like a raindrop as it indeed began to rain. "Come lets hurry...I'm sure our Queen is worried.." He said as he quickened his pace to a fast trot, which hurt his aching hips but he hide it well.

Forgetful when it came to certain details, Cayimmi let it slip, barely remembering his remark. "Yeah, let's go!" he hurried as well, jumping over the puddles that were starting to sprinkle the land. "I'm gonna get all soaked with this rain..." he moaned to himself, huffing in annoyance.

Tequila glanced around, Cayimmi? Where in the hells did he go? Now she started to fret and it had started to rain, she felt helpless she couldn't go anywhere to defend anyone and she couldn't go search for Cayimmi. Her azure eyes started to water when she scented blood.
Jasmyn curled around the cub tighter keeping her warm when a soft drift came from the entrance as it started to rain. The cub just needed some food and warmth, she aswell had, had many cases of these when she was younger, she thought it was a bad immune system turned out she wasn't eating enough for her to grow.

She looked up at the Princess, smiling gently. "Please, go without me. I will wait here until the others arrive." The cub gave a gently nudge to the female's nose with her own. Venya got up and ploddled over near to the entrance of the cave. Her tail flicked gently as she waited, flakes waving. The scent of rain was heavy in the air as the pregnant clouds formed over them. Soon, the puffs gave birth to rain, the liquid pouring from the sky wetting the ground. A sense of worry overfilled her other emotions and needs, her eyes scanning the horizon for the two missing pride members.

Benoni's nose nudged Cayimmi into the cave as he padded through the opening, wet as sin he looked over his pride through his bangs which were plastered to his forehead. He was about to say something before a white and pink streaked paw shoved at the side of his head, he turned to find a fuming Niobe staring at her. He only sent her a lazy grinned before he continued to pad forward, climbing up to his platform he stood before his beloved and her sister. "Angel, food is here...go fill your tummy for many days." He said as he then nodded to Jasmyn.."You as well." He then flopped down to his belly and closed his eyes for a moment. Taking a deep breath he opened a single eye to look at Kila. To see how much trouble he was in.
Just as she was about to say something to Venya, her brother came through the sheet of rain that poured outside. She couldnt help her reaction to him, as she swatted at his head. Foolish she thought as she stared at him, though the grin he sent her made her smile in return. He was doing what he did, protect everyone. She knew it would be the death of him one day...
Her eyes then turned to Cayimmi, her slender frame moved towards him with a grace known to only her as she then picked him up by the scruff of his neck without warning, she had some herbs to give him as she had caught sight of his wounds. They were nasty too, she thought with a faint smirk, it would be a silent warning of not to be as foolish as her brother.
That is when she found Fae curled up into a ball, she put Cayimmi down to moved towards her daughter and stand over her, she nuzzled the ball softly as she then in turn licked her soft fur. "Fae, it is alright...all is right and safe.." She said softly, she looked back at Cayimmi. "Dont you move." she warned him.
