A ring of light encircled her and raised a powerful barrier. Rivera's blank eyes continued to stare at the sky. The energy was channeled from a star, a white dwarf this time, to form the forcefield shield. The force of the shield was powerful, with a power magnitude off the charts, only because it was erected by will of the multiverse. It flared blue on contace, throwing aside any unwanted creatures or persons within two feet of her. Water splashed up, dispelled from the shield along with several pieces of gravel before the shield vanished and water pooled around her ankles and shins again, swirling pink until blood and water mingled without swirls.

As the battle raged on, Lorelai quietly made her way to the outskirts of the action to watch and observe. She had a high-tech looking pair of goggles on, and was carrying around a number of gadgets with her, all hooked up to a rather advanced looking laptop computer. Sitting in a tree a safe distance away for the moment, she pointed her equipment at the battle going on between Rivera and Kira, hoping to gather some useful data. Useful for what, she wasn't exactly sure, but it never hurt to learn new things. As she typed away on her keyboard, she noticed that there was suddenly a second person in her tree, sitting on the branch opposite her.

"Hello!" she called out cheerfully, giving a polite smile and a wave before going back to her typing. "Quite interesting, isn't it? I've never seen ambient waveforms like these before. That girl's etheric resonance isn't even supposed to be here right now." She smiled at this, apparently pleased, and adjusted a few of her sensors.

Lorelai shook her head, smiling cheerfully as she analyzed the incoming data she was collecting from Rivera. "Good luck, but I doubt you're going to be able to do anything about it," she said, casually typing away at a mile a minute. "It doesn't seem that she's caught in it so much as the direct cause of whatever is going on around here." Pausing for a moment to scratch at the side of her head, she continued. "And given the strength of the energy she's radiating at the moment, I'm not sure if even she herself is capable of stopping it."

"Helpful?" she asked, her eyes reflecting the data flashing across her computer screen. Smiling, she shook her head. "It was never my intent to help or harm anything going on here to begin with. My interest is solely in the data I can gather," she said, her fingers clacking against the keyboard as she chewed on the end of her pen. "Something like this only comes around every so often, you know. It's a researcher's dream, really."

Lorelai shook her head, taking her pen from her mouth and waving it back and forth in front of her. "I'm afraid you're mistaken," she said calmly. "Research is far from the only thing I care about, but I recognize that there's not much I can do in this situation." Glancing back to the small nexus of power gathering around Rivera, she sighed a little, shrugging her shoulders but still smiling. "But when there's good data to be had, it's a scientist's responsbility to collect it."

Looking back to Kira, she nodded, smiling supportively. "At any rate, don't sweat the small stuff. I know for a fact that this event is not the end of the current timeline. I can say with all certainty that the planet - at the very least - will make it out of this one in one piece."

Lorelai kept mostly silent at this, nodding slowly as she typed another page or so of notes into her laptop computer. Looking slowly back up and over at Kira, she smiled softly, twirling her pen in her finger. "Yes, I am a scientist," she said plainly. "And a time traveler, too, so I know a thing or two about how fate works. It's not entirely immutable, of course - few things in this world are." She looked back at Rivera, and then to Kira once more. "And currently, all temporal trends point to a continuation of the timeline. Anything more specific than that is hard to say."

"In lamens terms?"Kira asked.Geez...I can barely even keep up with this...I mean I sleep through most of my classes...He thought.Well...Focus on the present, Rivera is in something big and Usagihana's hacking didn't much help tell me this...He thought.

Kira suddenly heard a splash in the water and jumped from the tree.He saw Rivera laying down in the water and quickly grabbed her."Kai!Help me out here!"He commanded to the other one there.

Shepard had watched the most of the events from the trees in the back. When he saw Lorelai he decided to go see if she found out anything. He jumped down and ran over to her. " Hey..uhh Lorelai..did you find out anything? I saw you taking data on whats happening." he said running over to her. Strangely HK-47 was not by his side like it normally was.
