A room of dolls.
A room of dolls. A visible shudder ran through Hanna. "Why... why would anyone want a room with...?" Her voice trailed off, head shaking and eyes wide in no specific direction. Whoever Tobias was, Hanna wanted to steer clear. As a child, Hanna had been fascinated by mysteries and darkness... EXCEPT DOLLS. AND CLOWNS. She blamed it on her father.
When he was in charge of watching her as a child, he decided to watch
Child's Play. He must have thought Hanna was asleep next to him on the couch, but she instead spent the next ten years of adolescence having scattered nightmares about her dolls coming to life and stabbing her.
Charming.
Afraid of dolls, come on now, girl, Adelphe drawled in her head.
Don't embarrass me.Hanna cleared her throat. "The basement sounds great!" Then, after a moment: "Maybe not the doll room. Let's not do that part of the tour."
"Lead the way!" she announced to the other two, happy to put space between herself and the newer newbies. She was feeling sensitive about her own awakening being an error too.
Neomi didn't want to come? Hanna stopped walking. "You sure?" she asked. It seemed better to go down there with 3 people versus just 2. But she didn't want to alienate this new girl either. Hanna kept moving toward the door, glancing over her shoulder to see if the peer pressure might bring Neomi along anyway.
Oh well, OFF TO THE BASEMENT.
