He was trying very hard to not care, but the truth was that he did care, and it was making everything just that much harder. Ian wound his way through the throngs of people, not saying a word as he pulled Shiloh along, though he felt the warm stickiness of the slime beginning to coat his fingers where they were wrapped around his wrist.
He stopped at the nearest launcher, turning around finally, his gaze slightly odd. His fingers slipped away from Shiloh as he reached for the riggings, wordlessly holding them out for the other to strap him in.
"I thought you were dead," he said, in a deliberately calm voice. He forced another smile. "I saw that...that thing eat you."

She really needed to work on not getting a little dreamy-eyed in the middle of a mission. Lance's shouting still got to her at least, though she was a little curious about the missing division leads herself (hopefully they were prepping some sort of cavalry). As it was, Stormy was about to start going on the rove for Gale (if not to partner up than to at least check up on him) when she felt large hands take her.
"O-Oh, um, hi--" someone was being really friendly, but she was bristling inwardly at being yanked into--w-wait was that the harness hold on, "WaitI'mnotreadycanwetalkaboutthis-!"
In the pause the giant (holy God) took to readjust the aim, Stormy grabbed the daggers and stared with wide frightened eyes, because for a moment he looked--no, wrong voice. Wrong voice, okay, stop panicking. But she was still trying to find a way to voice her protest as politely as possible, which she learned the hard way didn't work--being soft spoken only got her properly launched without a countdown.
She started shouting in Spanish as she was tossed into the air.

Dakota urged the girl over, slapping his hands on her shoulders and looking at her intently.
"Molly. Trust me." He continued to grin at the girl. "Let me get you into the gear and...." His hands came around her, fitting the jacket on her as well as buckling the buckles. The whole time, he was totally feeling her up because it was Molly, and because she always got a different kind of nervous when boys were involved.
"It'll be easy, just go in, hit it, drop back down and we'll do it again. Fun! Orders fun!" He hugged her tightly, "I wouldn't do anything that would get you hurt Sweet and Petite. I love you too much, and Candace would kill me." He kissed her cheek before moving her to the catapult.
"Okay on the count of three.....THREE." And then launched her.

"HOUSTON WE HAVE LIFT OFF."

“You’ve gotta be shitting me.” Those were the only words the raven-haired sun hunter could muster out when the insanity titan still stood strong. It was still alive and kicking after all of that? You know what? ******** you. That’s what. Alaska was almost done with this monster, but then the assistant leaders clearly intended to have the hunters keep fighting. Well, it wasn’t like she could bring herself to disobey orders… She shot Mark a tired look as he went on to explain. In a nutshell, be ******** careful with his precious babies, whatever they were. She could ask about the technicalities later. For now, she had to find someone who could strap her to that machine (was this safe??)
Bright green eyes warily stared at the other hunters being thrown at the titan. The grim realities of being in the sun division. Her weapon snickered before she found a certain life trainee. Ah yes.
“Hey Loser.” She called out to Quinn casually, a tattooed handing tightly clutching his shoulder and spinning him around to face her. “You’re gonna help me. Now.” Her lips were set into a thin line and her eyebrows were furrowed. Clearly, there was no room for negotiation, and her grip suggested there was no use in running.

"Yes." Mimsy nodded pleasantly at Shiloh, giving him a little smile. "You too. I wish you luck." She couldn't fault Quinn for his disbelief - it was more than a bit strange to her that anyone would think that way, but not everyone could be brilliant. "They are always that way. ' We're all mad here', et cetera. I suppose our line of work could be considered working towards the assurance of their safety, however, if you would like to view it that way," she explained. It was nothing near her line of thinking, but if that was what he needed, she could offer the suggestion. As she listened to his final question, her eyes trailed after one of the airborne offensive hunters, who managed to land almost flawlessly on their target. She didn't answer, and made no indication that she intended to.

And off she sailed, until she was nothing but a speck in the horizon. Someone else started to load the launcher he'd been using, because it was aimed so perfectly, and that left him with nothing to launch with. Before walked by, offering his help - and Robert couldn't see any way around it. He had to do things the hard way. "OKAY BUDDY." He clamped down on Before, slapped a harness on him, and tightened the straps. "This ain't gonna be pretty, but - " With all of his strength, Robert lifted Before up over his head, and flung him out towards the monster. Because Robert thought he was strong enough to launch a man that far with his bare hands. He was. Completely. Wrong.

Stormy was still cursing in Spanish by the time she found her bearings (somewhat) in midflight. It was nice, for a moment, to be above it all at least.
< < This is a good trajectory, > > Thane intoned suddenly after several days of complete silence.
So we're talking again, then? She hadn't meant to sound petulant about it, and yet she also did.
The response was swift and cold once more. < < Concentrate, fleshbitch, or you'll fail us again. > >
And that was the end of that. Stormy swallowed down the lump in her throat as they came upon the downswing, the daggers burying deep into the monster's eye and temple as she made her rough landing. She could practically feel Thane's satisfaction ooze off him like fog inside her mind, but he didn't say a word--which was for the better really, because getting on the strap and ziplining down while on an actively moving platform was hard.
She made a slightly not so graceful landing and nearly fell over her own feet, jitters and adrenaline and pride and fear and excitement running through her all at once. "Uh, th-thanks for the lift!" she shouted at her impromptu partner, watching him toss another hunter with his . . . own arms . . . well okay then . . .

Shiloh followed Ian past the gathered groups, though with the Mist Hunter’s grip on his wrist, it wasn’t as though he particularly had a choice aside from digging his heels in and being stubborn for no reason, for which this was definitely not the time or place to be doing. Ian was quiet the entire way, and remained silent as they found a launcher. Shiloh took the rigging from him, and straightened the straps out before reaching around Ian and clipping the first one quickly around his waist. He finished fastening the second one over his back, and leaned back when Ian spoke, giving the strap a tug to test its secureness. “Yeah, me too,” he grinned, obliviously taking Ian’s smile for a good sign. “I think I did okay though, for being partially digested and all.”

The wall was intact, the dragon...insanity looming over it.
Now he was a knight defending a castle. He wasn't sure he could hit a lower point. But he was human. And they were going to die.
He followed the rest down to the barricades, and watched the demonstration, allowing himself a grim smile.
Finally, something fun.

Nevada watched as Chelsea flew, then hunted around for another hunter to shoot up, shouldering a new set of gear.
It wasn't until she saw the teal haired jackass she loved that she went over to him and wrapped her arm around his neck.
"Hi Jake." She smiled at the death hunter, "How do you feel about flying?" She was going to launch you Jake, and not even feel bad about it because you forgot Sherry. A little sort of payback.

After they had done all of that, the monster was still alive and kicking? Really? Wilson stared poker-faced at the insanity titan before sighing and listening to the next set of instructions. His heart sank when he watched a couple hunters fly into the air and soar toward the monster. He was supposed to do that? He couldn’t like, be the one doing the tying and prepping up instead? Really? Oh. Okay…
Well, if he was going to be flung at a giant monster, he at least wanted to have someone he trusted to do the launching. The death hunter searched around for a familiar face before spotting a familiar blond and his face lit up. “Ryan!” Grinning, he jogged over to the moon hunter and pointed toward one of the launchers. “Mind lending a hand?”OnionGrump When you've got the time kk hun <3

So basically they were to give the more offensive in deus false hope. Somewhere inside Quinn felt his gut drop a notch, trying hard not to think about that just yet. It seemed Mimsy was off the hook from answering the question though, because a hand soon grabbed Quinn and demanded his attention. Wide cyan blue eyes met Alaska's green; Quinn did not try and hide the touch of fear that traced his expression. This was the part in movies where the response would be 'oh no not YOU again'. Instead the dark skinned hunter squeaked. "H-help? How c-can i help you?" The hand was signal enough that he was not getting away easily. What did Alaska want exactly? He had a hunch... He looked at Mimsy, almost pleading with his eyes. Would she help him?

In all honesty, this shouldn't have surprised Before. From running around station to station and handing out gear, to actually using said gear, to being flung into the air, yeah, this was part and parcel of being a Hunter. And maybe because his memories of Robert had always involved being saved and involving some amounts of success, Before didn't panic, or scream, or get angry.
He instead drew inspiration from the awesome superhero stories Bix had shared with him during their trainee days. The Mist released his hold on the gear he was carrying, half to lighten himself and half to free his arms. His hands clenched into fists, one reaching forward, the other tucked to his hip as the wind whipped his hair about.
Before felt himself soar for a glorious second.
Then he dropped like a rock into the sand below.

" Robert," Mimsy sharply interjected. "That is not how physics works. You could not possibly transfer enough energy to achieve the right velocity without mechanical assistance, which - how convenient - is right next to you." She gave Quinn a look that implied there were plenty of senseless hunters within their own division, and heaved a heavy sigh. "If you are willing to accept my assistance, I could aid in calculating your necessary adjustments."

Bix screamed like the entire flight to the creatures head. Once on it he couldn't even describe what it felt like but it made his skin crawl. It's weird eyes were right there and... He fumbled for his daggers and jammed them as hard as he could into it's face before zipping caaaarefully back down. He wasn't exactly an expert with rope work. Dmg: 9 Ceres roll: 16 DAMAGE DONE: 144
