Two failures in a row were a bit difficult for her to take. Cheeks puffed out, she wandered around the temple for a while. She even walked outside and knelt down to stare at the rushing waters. The sound of running water was boring, but soothing at the same time. Daaiji closed her eyes. When she opened them, she shifted her focus toward the red lights scattered around the area. They were a pretty red, but she preferred the cool blue of her core much more. Again, she felt tempted to peer over the edge, but managed to tear herself away with more ease. She walked back inside the temple with her attention once again captured by the floating orbs. An arm shot out for one and she was rewarded with the sounds of another memory. This time she could hear her own laughter—chirping, loud, almost obnoxious. She grinned, but then tilted her head when she heard mumbled voices. They sounded indignant, disgruntled. Iyari, Senga! Come on!

With the fragment gone Tsumi continued on through the darkness in her current location but another small light caught her attention. Moving toward it she was able to pick up the little crystal fragment rather easily.
There was a glint of something soft. At least it seemed like it would be soft and in nothing but black and white but before she could really grasp what it was she saw the image was gone. What had that been?

Daaiji hummed softly as she strolled around the area. Her eyes looked up at the glowing orbs. There were many fragments she could try for, but she didn’t feel it was quite the right time for it. She kept walking, hands behind her back before her face lit up and she jumped for one. It was reassuring to feel the orb press against her hand as she landed back down on the ground. Daaiji tilted her head as she heard music and another voice. Such nice music…

Curious now about these fragments and the way they made her feel Tsumi started to seek them out. They were a little harder to find than she expected, the first two had been so easy but now they were sparse at best not to mention they didn't want to sit still.

Maybe it had been a bad idea to focus her attention on this. The fragments wanted nothing to do with her now but maybe....maybe this was what she had been looking for? She was still so uncertain but she wanted to know what another one of these fragments would hold.

She practically dove for the glimmering shine of the fragment, and greedily clutched it to her chest.
The memory that came to her wasn't a single event, but a sense of self that had been lacking. When she stood she felt more solid, more real, and she glanced down at her hands, fingers flexing.
What had been undefined was now concrete. A petite, dark skinned woman with ashen hair that fell in curls to her hips. The vivid blue of her heart, now dimmed, though that did nothing to stem the flow of emotions.

Her walk began to slow as yet another fragment slipped from her grasp. For a moment she thought her fingers hand managed to ensnare it but it had managed to float again and as such she was granted with no little clip of words or images.

It was like fate wasn't with her in the moment. The same fragment kept eluding her but there was no other close by to divert her attention too. It was a strange feeling, a sense of determination. She wanted to get this fragment.

Watching the falling waters was calming, at least for Linswo. They were a pale grey, a dull color compared to the cores he had seen, but he didn’t mind that. Just seeing the watery mist disappear into the fog was good enough for him. He sat down by the edge for a while, listening to the running water fall into the darkness. He vaguely wondered where the water went, but he had no intention of investigating that inquiry. Maybe someone would find out for him. That would be nice. Linswo looked up at the grey sky and red moon. “Hmm…” He stood up, heading toward the temple. Linswo peered briefly into the shrine door and looked up at the goddesses. Ah, so they wanted him to complete a task. He didn’t know how well he would do, but hopefully his performance would satisfy them. He looked back toward the rest of the crumbling temple. Unsure of what the orbs were like, he slowly reached for one and managed to hold onto it.
He visibly relaxed when he heard a violin playing, or was it a viola? Regardless, the tune was soothing and he became noticeably disappointed when the sound faded out.

Those fragments were his mission now, and he would focus on that above all else. He wanted more of that warmth, he needed to feel more whole. When he locked his sights on another of the crystals with its eerie glow, honing in on it, moving towards it as if drawn in by a magnet.
One grey fist closed around it, adding it to the other.
Come on, kiddo, we've got work to do. A masculine voice, one that brought a sharp emotion that Nifen could not yet discern, but more importantly, left behind yet another imprint of warmth. Fragments: 2

Finally, it was a small victory but finally her fingers wrapped around the fragment. The image this time was vague, something about pudding. What about pudding Tsumi didn't understand and like the rest once the small image was gone so was the fragment.
