I know where Blaze is, and I apologize for the hold up on his behalf. He is indeed held up by finals and has been for a few days, so I told him not to worry about posting too much and helping me with plot stuff with his free time. As for Sonus, I haven't a damn clue where he is, though I presume the same.

That awkward moment when you see a design by accident and go "I want that to be my next RPC."

It seems Hatter's thrown a curveball to guild canon. If the Katena have been sealed all this time, how do they know english or japanese or whatever it is everybody speaks in a guild based on an english adaptation of a japanese comic and cartoon series.
I propose the Katena either
A) Understand all languages as a racial feature, via empathic telepathy implicit understanding of the meaning behind words.
B) Can learn languages via racial telepathy somehow (Like Starfire from Teen Titans, minus the impromptu CPR)
or C) The lazy solution: Whatever they speak is understood by everybody for "REASONS" and they understand other people because HEY LOOK, A DISTRACTION! *flees*
Personally, I like C.

While this could ideally be a curveball (hell i didn't even think about it for the following reason) consider that they've been sealed for a while, sure, but they've been around for a long, long, long time too. While there aren't exact years to it, they could have heard the most rudimentary starts of English, and while it wouldn't necessarily sound the same they could get an idea of where it came from and what language he was speaking. That being said though, with your point being considered, none of the rpcs in the guild, aside from each other and the oldest of the old Shinigami, would be able to understand them either since they'd honestly be speaking archaic dialects. Not to mention, speaking strictly of the Canon, a few of the Espada spoke outright Spanish, both in the English and Japanese series adaptations (not that anyone understood them). So there is that to take into consideration as well. Although thanks for pointing that out, as I hadn't really stopped to think about the problems a bilingual speaker such as the Hatter would present, given that he was born and raised in England and wandered east as a soul, only picking up a second language after passing on.

The few other guilds I've been in that've brought up the problem usually just said that shinigami and other spirit peoples have some kind of inherent property that lets them understand what everyone says as if it were spoken in their native language. It's a pretty convenient system as long as you don't look at it too hard.

iChan-Chan That awkward moment when you see a design by accident and go "I want that to be my next RPC." I feel ya. Since making Faun, I've seen two other character designs I wanted to make into Katena.

Mmm most guilds I've ever been in with multilingual characters have often held it as some rpcs understand it, others don't, depending on their past life experiences. However, most multilingual rpcs also tend to be intelligent types who learned the language in the class room before death, or had pasts filled with traveling and learning it from their parents, rather than going about and picking it up via ear like the Hatter did. He actually had to piece everything together on his own, for the most part. Still, most guilds lack multilingual rpcs (despite the actual canon apparently being quite filled with them) so it doesn't come up as often. As for the rpc, yeah I saw the concept and took my chance before the muse passed. Finished him too, so now he gets to sit and look pretty forever.

I'm with ya there, I ended up making a Tiger and most of a Rat based offa characters from some random manga I read recently. Can't use them, but hey! If Faun gets offed, I have backups.

Eh, I just make them compulsively. I think somewhere close to sixty percent of the rpcs I make never see use. I just get a concept I really really like and then make it. I've handed out a couple over the years too, but not much else. I just enjoy the long thought out process of making a character, so I do whenever the idea strikes me.

I tend to use all the characters I make at some point or another. They don't always keep my interest, but everyone gets at least a test toast. Janus is actually a character from a non-Bleach guild that went belly up before it even started. I liked his concept too much to let him die, so I reworked him as a shinigami and let him sit in storage for two years. Kinda nice to use him for realsies after all this time.
