Sawyer Loupohl ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦" Well, I'm only in my thirties and am already a partner in my firm, so I'm very, very good." He crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow. " Exactly how many cases do you need my help with?" ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

"Not many, but they're tricky cases." Cecil explained. "Several prosecutors are refusing a case because the defense is very talented. As long as you take the case you can just stand there. As for the other defense cases, I have a suspicion that the prosecutor is tampering with the evidence, but I don't have any proof. If you're as good as you say you are then maybe you can still beat her. Or at least keep her in court long enough for me to find anything.""YOU'RE UNDER ARREST!"

Sawyer Loupohl ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦Sawyer sighed heavily and pulled out his phone, looking over his schedule. it wouldn't be easy, but he'd find the time if Cecil really needed it. " Alright, alright. But I need you to be flexible, there whenever I need you. I'm used to an entire board helping me with research and such, but I can do with just the one. Is there an assistant you can get me? Because I don't think I have the time to fly Carmen here." ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

"Well, I think Detective Waltz will make a good match with you since he's focused and strict, but seeing as though he's not here right now I'll work with you until he's back." Cecil said. "The trial starts at the end of this week, so you don't have to start today, but soon. I'll get the reports." He turned and left."YOU'RE UNDER ARREST!"

Sawyer Loupohl ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦Sawyer put his phone away, staring after Cecil with a strange look on his face. " It looks like I'm going to have to start working late again. Parker's going to be so upset," he mused, mostly just thinking aloud. ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Cecil Tealy "Trying to spend one on one time with your son?" asked Cameron. "Me too, but mine is still very distant. He just recently got some form of attachment to my partner. I guess that's why I like Officer Cecil so much, he looks like he'd be one of my son's friends." Cameron West

Sawyer Loupohl ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦" Consider yourself lucky. Parker's almost thirteen, so he's struggling between loving his single dad and hating his mother and her new husband, and just hating us both." He laughed mirthlessly, then gestured to Cameron. " So what's your partner like? I don't really hear much about him, or Detective Waltz's either. All I know is that they both look younger than the two of you and are good friends with each other. That's all anyone says about them." ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Cecil Tealy "Oh no, my son hates me with every fiber of his being and likes to explain that to me daily when he's not throwing a tantrum." Cameron laughed before being asked about his lover. "Liam... Well gee, how do I explain it? He's very clever and witty. Don't get me wrong, he's nice to everyone, but I'm pretty sure he's more mischievous than other people. He's also pretty sadistic." he said with something in his smile. "It's actually a funny story how Liam and Freddy's partner met. I think I'll have Freddy tell you all about it some time. Maybe when we go out for drinks again." Cameron West

Sawyer Loupohl ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦Sawyer was about to protest the policeman's words about his son, then quieted as the man's lover was talked about. The lawyer chuckled, looking away. " Well, I can tell he means a lot to you. When I married my first wife, I talked about her just like you talk about Liam. I'm glad you two are still together after having a kid. I hate to say it, but even Parker couldn't save my marriage. Not that I didn't love Holly." He paused, then rubbed the back of his neck and laughed. " Listen to me, going on about my ex-wife. I'm just like every other middle-aged creep." Sawyer then looked back down the hallway. Cecil sure was taking a long time. ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Cecil Tealy "Hey, it happens." shrugged the smiling cop. "So you ever think you'll remarry? Or are you going to relax for a while?" He paused when he heard something particular on his radio. Beyond the static was the mention of some kind of thief. Cameron glanced over at Cecil's office just as the blonde walked out. "Here are the files." he said while holding them out to Sawyer. They were over a restaurant that had burned down, but the owners hired a private investigator that accused a regular customer/former employee of burning the restaurant out of spite. By the look on Cecil's face, he didn't hear what the radio sputtered out. Cameron West

Sawyer Loupohl ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦" I don't really know," admitted Sawyer after the radio quieted. " I mean, I like being married, so maybe. I guess the third time's the charm, and besides, now I can marry whomever I want." He offered a smile, then turned and accepted the files handed to him. Opening the folder, he looked over the statement and offered evidence. " This is all complete nonsense. All of the evidence is circumstantial and the private investigator clearly muddled a few details to keep himself clean. I need a couple hours to look at it all, but I'm certain I can build a case in defense of the former employee. Do you think he did it?" asked Sawyer. ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Cecil Tealy "Whether I believe he did it or not doesn't matter. Prosecutor Yuu has a silver tongue that helps him when the evidence doesn't. If you think what's there is too easy, chances are he does too or it's easy for a reason." Cecil advised. He looked to the cells. "I could try and get the accused in for questioning, if you think you need it?" Cameron West

Sawyer Loupohl ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦Sawyer scoffed. " Please. I deal with prosecutors like Mr. Yuu all the time. They think they're smarter than they are and that they can just fill up the holes in the evidence with a charming smile and pathetic anecdote about their dog that died when they were kids." He smirked, crossing his arms and leaning down a bit. " And when I'm done with them, they wish they died with that dog. I've ruined careers with less, Tealy. Trust me, this guy's would walk in seconds if I were his lawyer." He gestured to the cells. " However, I do need to talk to the defendant before I proceed, see if he minds me taking over his case. The attorney the court assigned to him clearly has no idea what he's doing, so I'm going to take over. Do you approve?" questioned the tall blonde. ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Cecil Tealy " The fact that I gave you the court files should be enough of an answer, but I'll say yes for legal reasons." Cecil shrugged then moved to get the prisoner ready. He wasn't sure how to feel about Sawyer's confidence. It was annoying, definitely, but was it relieving? He had seen plenty of confident lawyers go in only to fee Prosecutor Yuu's ego and winning record, but who knows? Maybe Sawyer was different. Ten minutes later the officer returned. " He's waiting in the questioning room." he said and motioned for the lawyer to follow him. After a short walk they found themselves in a small room with only a table in it. Seated at the end of one table was a fidgety man in a beanie and baggy clothes. He eyed the two warily, wondering why he had been called out again. Cameron West

Sawyer Loupohl ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦The lawyer walked in, sitting in front of his new client. " Adam Baum, age 22. You were in and out of juvie up until you turned eighteen, usually for misdemeanors and such, turned your life around by the time you graduated after your mom died. Now you're an art student and occasional barista. That's good for you, Adam. I'm sure your dad's real proud of you." He closed the folder, then leaned forward. " Why do you think you're being fingered for this arson, then? Out of all the other ex-employees, why do you think they targeted you?" ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦
