The nightmare could never really be kept at bay. That was the hollow realization that came to her when deja vu hit.
The runes lit up a crimson that made her nauseous and anxious, but there was a mercy given this time: the deaths inflicted were short and sweet. A strangled sound left Stormy as Candace fell, because she had said not to touch the shadow, and now it was happening again, and the colors didn't matter, the creatures didn't matter, not even the horsemen mattered. What mattered was that she was powerless again and that Gale had to watch someone close to him die before his eyes. Hadn't Candace been the one he said was like his sister?

Pale as a ghost, she grabbed Gale's arm with the strongest grip she'd managed yet and pulled him back wordlessly, summoning Thane as she assumed a defensive stance. A shaky, colorless defensive stance. Stormy tossed him a look over her shoulder that belied absolute Fear that her posture couldn't quite convey, but also that she was there. Trying.

During the time Ryan was attacking, he had yet to spot Kat. If there hadn't been a freaking giant, spiny lizard trying to kill him, he would have been looking for her, to insure she was safe. However, the lizard gave him no chance. Attacking him every, and everyone else, every chance it got, and forcing him to keep his attention on it.
Hopefully she was okay.

Keep going, keep going. That was the chant that Ofelia had in her head as she tried to drown out any and all thoughts of Rue. Keep going and take them down, keep going and go home. Ofelia was hungry, Ofelia was tired.
She finally had the bracelet off and she could finally go and buy things. She was going to go and buy those weird oranges that another new guy was talking about and she was going to share them with him. She was going to buy something sweet and share it with Clover too.
Ofelia needed to buy things for her birthday, which was coming up too. This year she didn't want to celebrate it alone and even if this was something like an early present she didn't want anything less. Her blades connected with another monster and tore it down, doing her best to keep going.
Being a Sun was awesome, you always hit hard.

He barely managed to lash out at the next one, and while Song came in contact with it, the large majority of his survival was more dependent on the way he rolled out of the way of its foot.

There wasn't time to do much besides attack the giant lizard monsters. You know, to keep them from eating her.
Armagnac was happy. This was the kind of fight the weapon liked. Up close, brutal, no fuzzy feelings involved. Just straight up hacking and slashing.
Sherry decided she didn't like today.

No particularly defining features stood out to Mimsy as she examined the reflection of the sun. Of course, it probably didn't help that her eyesight was not as good as it could be, hindered by the removal of her glasses. Startled by the sudden snap of electricity in the air, she dropped the lenses into the sand by her side. As she blinked through the blur of poor vision, she thought she made out some movement that was definitely not going to be beneficial to them. She didn't have any time to scramble into a more feasible fighting position before one of the creatures was staring her down. Even without her glasses, it was very clear that there was a mouth opening towards her. Apparently, Mimsy was not allowed to exist in a timeline where Dakota was not defending her. Were she not currently being devoured by a lizard creature, she might have grieved over this fact. HP: ded DMG: 0 Total HP: 141

Ofelia happened to catch a glance at the others fighting in between taking her own strikes. She frowned deeply as she watched Kat get taken out of the picture, then another hunter - the same one as before - and she sucked on her teeth as she took another swipe at the beast.
Her stomach rumbled for a moment as the blades connected with a hit, effectively bringing down a monster all on her own. Ofelia was pleased enough to have done so, if she could think about it, but that wasn't the point. The point of the matter was her fellows were still getting taken down.
Jake and Sherry were okay though so far and that was relief enough. Stormy....well, Ofelia would need to talk to Stormy when they got back.

Sherry's weapon was in a rather swell mood, honestly.
Sherry wasn't. Large toothy monsters and days full of death were not her idea of fun. Why couldn't they have a nice mission involving fluffy minipets or something? Why was there always dying?
Not that she had time for such musings. There was really only time for more hitting of lizard monsters.

"Matkojebca, matkojebca, kurwa." It was one steady stream of swearing from Lucky today. One last stone creature glanced off the toothy end of his saw. He was pushed back, closer to the center of the circle and the gate and the horsemen. Everything was moving so fast, he couldn't even tell if anyone had fallen yet, or who.
