Misty looked back over at CJ and gave him a little smile. Suppose it would be okay... Savage was no longer a problem, Kingpin will probably back off a bit after the stunt CJ pulled. She was just... paranoid still. That had to be it.
When Dundee jumped up, she quickly turned her attention towards him. ”Is it time to go?” she asked. He was her ride out of Arkham after all.

Gossamer was too weary at this point to really focus in on the little details. She turned around as she heard the door close and the man begin talking again. ”That makes two of us I suppose.” she replied, looking back at Doctor Villa.
Usually she was... calm... when she had nothing to fight or go after. Right now she was more confused than anything. No target to go after, nothing to run from, the doctors weren't that bad, and the guards had calmed down some. She... wasn't feeling like not being cooperative right now. But, who knows how long that would last. She didn't even remember what she did to get in here.
= = = = = = = == = = = = = = = =
Meanwhile, the “reporter” had made her way out of the hall, and was being escorted by the guards back out of the building. Her expression was calm. Collected. But “unhappy” was practically permeating the air around her. The guard had looked back at her a few times, but had thought better about asking what was wrong. He led her to the door, and escorted her down the short walk to the car that was waiting for her. Nothing fancy... a rather humble looking little used sedan.
She got into the passenger seat, thanked the guard, and motioned for the driver to pull away. The older man did so with a nod, and carefully drove the car away from Arkham. He waited until they were a fair distance away, before glancing over at her and giving her a small smirk.
”So, how did the whole “Anna Belle” alias work?” he asked.
The woman groaned. ”Using my middle name as a full name sounded like a good idea at the time.” she replied.
”Did they recognize you?”
”I don't know...” she sighed, running her hands through her dark hair. ”My head is in so many different places right now... I don't even know why I came over here.”
”Did you find out what you wanted, at least?” the driver asked.
”You mean to make up my mind if I wanted to kill him or leave it as a justified murder?” she asked, looking over at him.
”I'll not be judging either way, Miss Savage.”
”I don't even know if I still have that title.” she said with a groan.
”I wouldn't see why not. You've been married to Mister Savage for a few years now. I'm not sure what makes you think any differently. Far as I know you just went on vacation while he went about taking care of business matters.”
”It's a little more complicated than that...” she sighed, rubbing the bridge of her nose.
”Gotten any divorce papers?” the man asked as he made a turn into the city.
”No...”
”Then I'd say you're still married. Even if you 'aint, Mister Savage seemed to love you and your son enough to take good care of you.”
Rebecca was quiet for a moment, then sighed again. ”God and that only makes this harder...”
”One thing at a time then..” the man suggested. ”Worry about all that later. You came here to see the guy that killed your husband. Did you get what you wanted, or will you be looking into it more again?”
Rebecca grew quiet again for a few minutes, staring at the floor under her feet. Then, she gently turned around and grabbed a large purse from the back seat and brought it up onto her lap. She settled the bag onto her lap comfortably, hugged the black leather against herself, and tapped her fingers against something large and hard that was wrapped up inside of it. Her fingers making a dull tapping sound as though it were something metalic inside.
”Miss?” the man asked.
”The guy has kids of his own... Vandal was involved... he did what he thought he had to to protect them.” Rebecca began, still tapping at the bag. ”If it were Sage... I can't say I wouldn't kill someone to protect him. Still...” she sighed, then looked down at the bag in her lap. ”Three years... quite a long time to grow attached to someone. I'm without a husband, and Sage is without a father. Do I even the score? Or do I let it be because I wouldn't wish this pain on another mother?” she asked herself, then turned and glanced out the window. Watching the city pass her by.
”I suppose Natalia will be doing what she can to avenge Vandal anyway...” she continued with a heavy frown. ”Perhaps I should just let her give it a go while I decide who I'm feeling more angry at.” she said.
Then she looked back down at her bag, and pulled the flap over the top of it down. ”Right now... just take me back to my son.” she said as she looked down at her golden reflection. Whatever was in the bag was gold and polished so finely that everything around it was captivated in a slightly curved reflection. ”I'll look into things more later...”
”Whats that, Miss?” the driver asked.
”Oh... just something I found while I was on vacation clearing my head.” she replied.

Dundee nodded. "I wish I could stay longer, but I forgot to run back to headquarters and recharge the ring . . . last time that happened, I had to catch a ride from NASA . . . peeps weren't too happy about that." he said, a little embarrassed as Arell looked on with a brow raised.
"You'd think dat'd be right up yo' alley. Ah well, some tings don' change!" Arell growled. C.J. nodded understandingly.
"Come back soon, alright, darlin'? Just, err, not in one of these." he asked, looking down at his prison uniform and back up to her.

Misty smiled, then gently reached one of her hands through the bars to place it on his cheek. "I don't plan on getting into any trouble with the twins demanding my attention." she replied with a smile. "And as long as Dundee doesn't have work to do or anything, I'll see if I can come back again tomorrow."

C.J. smiled back, his heart warmed at her touch. "Well, I'll be here, hon. Thanks for helping us out." he said with sincerity and compassion in his voice as Dundee looked on. He almost didn't WANT to have to get them apart, but it was a mighty long trip back to the planet. At least Fisk and Savage weren't that much of a problem anymore.
"I'll make sure of it. Y'all have my word. Now, Misty, y'mind comin' over here?" the Mississippian Lantern said as C.J. hugged Misty with his other hand, slipping it through the bars.
"Be safe alright?" he asked.
Arell watched on. He still wasn't too sure about the whole situation, but as long as his little buddy was in a better mood now than he was earlier, then that would be alright.

Misty smiled and gently rubbed her thumb against his cheek. "I will... I'll see you tomorrow." she replied. Hesitantly, she drew her hand away from him and moved away from the bars. She walked up to Dundee and stood beside him before looking back at CJ to give him one more smile.

C.J. smiled back and stepped back when she got near Dundee. With THAT kid with THAT ring, there was a very good reason.
"Okay. Here we go!! See ya tomorrow, fellas!" Dundee said as Arell nodded. It was there that Misty and Dun' got covered in a blue light . . . and like a flash . . . they were gone!
((Exit Dun' and Misty))
Arell looked at C.J. with a brow raised. "Did we j-jest see what I done thought I saw?" Arell asked as the Marylander nodded.
"Yep. Well, hopefully they didn't wind up on the Moon or something." C.J. said and looked around.
"Wait, were we serious about those cheeseburgers and coffee we asked the guard a while back? I dunno about you, but I'm hungry again." C.J. said, Arell raising an eyebrow.
"Maybeh. Am kinda curious when chow is 'round here." Arell growled as C.J. went back to the bunk. He saw where he stashed the other envelope. I sure heard enough about this thing, should I see it for m'self? he thought as Arell was back and forth.
"Why d' I got dat sinkin' feelin' dis ain't gon' be like de last time we was in jail?" the big Cajun asked before noticing C.J. looking up at that envelope. The other one was stashed away next to it, but it was the unstickered one he was looking at. Not opening it, not reading the contents, just looking at. Like he was contemplating something. "Aww, HELL, man. You ain't fallin' for 'er again, are ya?" Arell asked. C.J. looked over.
"Sorry dude. Can't help it . . . I mean, hell, Arell. I know I was mad, and I know I said some things, but now that I know what's up . . . it's . . . aw, hell, man. I know I'm probably tempting fate here, but I'll say this much, I'm gonna marry her one day." he said. Don't know HOW, but I will. he thought.

"Very good," Dr. Villa replied in return, turning towards Donna. The strange look in his eyes was gone, any trace of it abolished, as was the smile.
He looked down the hall, towards the Joker's cell, and sighed, shaking his head slightly. "No, not right now. I need..." He cut himself off and looked at Donna. "We need to re-evaluate the present data, to ensure we can lead the clown as much as possible in the direction we want." A small smirk formed on his lips. "A few small surprises, he might overlook, but if we lose control of the situation, he'll wither taunt us, or try to kill us. Neither situation are very useful for us."

”Not at all.” Donna agreed. She looked down the hall towards the Joker's cell and frowned some. ”I don't have any objections to holding off on visiting the clown again." She certainly hadn't enjoyed entertaining the clown earlier, and she wasn't feeling up to him leading her around like that again. Or worse. She hadn't had any patients who were that violent, and she wasn't sure she'd know what to do in a situation where someone would lash out. "So... shall we continue this in your office?" Donna asked, turning her gaze back towards Dr. Villa.
From the other end of the hall, a guard came through a doorway wheeling a cart of food drays. It was close to meal time anyway, so the two new inmates wouldn't have had to wait long. The guard pulled the cart down the hallway until he stopped in front of CJ and Arell's cell. There he pulled two trays off of the cart and carefully slid them through the thin horizontal gap between the bars. "Here ya' are. No burgers, but we'll see about that tomorrow. Everyone pretty much gets what the cook makes for the day."

"Thanks anyways, man." C.J. said, reaching down for the tray. w than he was before . . . maybe the whole anger about being cooped up in this dump cooled off. After all, the duo weren't as crazy as they seemed.
Arell went for his, too. Kind of nervous to get the lid off, he wasn't sure if this cook was about as bad as Dundee or actually had taste. When he saw C.J. eating, Arell looked up.
"Whatcha think, che'?" Arell asked.
"Needs hot sauce. A LOT of it." C.J. drawled, still eating.

"Yes, my office would do just fine," Dr. Villa replied, walking up to her with a very small smile, satisfied with the work they had done so far. He motioned with his hand for Donna to walk with him.

”You'll just have to try and take that up with the cook tomorrow. You should get papers letting us know what you prefer to eat and what-not tomorrow.” the guard replied. Till then, this is the last meal of the night. You two aren't gonna have much to do until tomorrow, so try and enjoy it if ya can.” The guard then adjusted the plates and began rolling the cart down towards the other inmates to give the rest of them their dinner.
The ones who were allowed to have a tray and silverware in their cells anyway.

Donna sighed gently, then began walking along side Dr. Villa back to his office. Gossamer watched them as they left her, then moved closer to the glass of her cell to look around the hall way.
While they walked, Donna pulled her voice recorder back out of her pocket and began rewinding it so that it would be ready by the time they got back up to the office. ”So... how long have you been working with the Joker?” Donna asked, trying to make the walk down the hallway not so quiet. She couldn't recall if he had mentioned how long he had been working on Joker's case before, and she didn't think she had asked. Though... she might have. Such a busy day she didn't remember.

"No sweat. Dis'll do fer now." Arell drawled as the two kept on eating. This would have to do in the meantime. C.J. still seemed to have Misty well on his mind while eating. Now that things weren't as bad as they thought, maybe they had a chance of being together again!
Arell on the other hand, only had one thing in mind: FOOD!
Needless to say, not much went on that night. Until after dinner . . . when C.J. finally got the curiosity to take out the OTHER letter. Not from the kids but actually from Misty herself. He opened it up and read it as Arell tried to find something to DO.

In the note, she apologized again and again, and explained what had happened. About being attacked when the kids were having their play date in the other cart, then catching sight of them the day she left... panicking and leaving. Everything that CJ had heard about today really.
She apologized a few times again. She couldn't get a hold of him, or anyone else for that matter. As soon as she found out how to contact him, she'd send him this letter along with the one the children had made for him. Probably a few of them... she wasn't sure where they would be at when she finally did find CJ again, but the children were persistent about sending the rest of their family everything they could. They missed their uncles, they missed Delores, and most of all... they missed their father. Momma just couldn't get the voices right for the bedtime stories no matter how much she tried.
The letter went on to say that she missed him too. Very, very much. She loved him, and she understood if he was upset. If he was angry at her. If he never wanted to talk to her again. She didn't blame him for it... but she didn't want him to punish the kids because Mommy had screwed up. As soon as things blew over, she wanted to move back to where ever CJ was. If he didn't want to be with her, she'd understand, but she wanted him to still be in the children's lives. She could live just close enough that the children could come down and visit him, or be in an area where he'll travel through often. Just... something where they can still be together.
And then... there was a vague little paragraph towards the end of the letter. One that hadn't been brought up tonight at any point.
”There's... more too. Something else I should probably tell you. But, I don't know how you're feeling right now, and I don't want to make you feel like you have to feel one way or the other about if you want to ever see me again or not. I hope that... if you are angry at me... we'll be able to talk calmly at least once. If not...”
Then the ink slowly slid from the last letter. Jerked away from her fingers curling against the pen. An occasional habit Misty would have if she became overly upset while writing something down.
”... I'm sure the children will tell you all about it when they find out.”
Then, she apologized again, said that she loved him, and didn't want him to ever think otherwise... and signed her name.

C.J. looked at that last paragraph. Well, he wasn't gonna punish the kids for it. They did no wrong. Well, nobody did any wrong, he just was in the wrong place at the right time. But there was more?
"Looks like I ain't the ONLY thing hiding a secret."
Dude, Dun' leaked.
"WHAT?!?"
Yup. Spilled the beans.
"Okay, that's kind of predictable."
You took that quite well! I'm proud of you.
"Thanks. Just uh, don't worry if you get a bill for a snake farm. I got Dun' a present. It's big, it's long, it's kind-of a cobra."
*FACEPALM*
But there was more? Well, this had to be good. Arell looked down at C.J.
"You REALLY gon' go through wit' dat thang?" Arell asked. C.J. nodded.
"Damn right. I love her, dude. Once I get outta this slammer, that's my first stop." he said with a smile. So what if he was tempting fate.

"Which time?" Dr. Villa asked, a small chuckle emerging from his throat as they drew ever closer to his office, "I first worked with him before I published my book. When I left to tour the world as a result of the book's success, I joined a very small group of doctors who've worked with the clown and lived to tell the tale. When I returned, it only made sense that I resume attempting to treat him."
