"I understand." he said, knowing full well if he saw Doctor Madison again he would have to end up in the hospital once more. However a hand was held out and Timothy leaned back, staring at it cautiously before back up at the man. Eyes darted back down, then up again, and down. Slowly he reached out, wrapping his hand around the other and giving it a small shake. "Thank you." he said again softly, surprised at how non-intimate this touch was. It made him smile again.

Madison had to fight to keep his smile from changing when James finally took his hand. he returned the small shake and let go, "i'll be keeping track of the nurses' checks on you and will keep in contact, but if you need anything at all, here is my card." he handed James his business card with a hand written number on the back, "that's my cell phone. I understand you are making a sort of phone support group for you, and i would love to be a part of it. you have a good day and call me for anything, even if you trip and scrap up your knee, ok?" he grinned and waved as he left, feeling better as he moved to his next patient. Daren smiled, the doctor was a good man through and through. maybe he and James could become friends as time wore on. who knows, they might even develop into something more. Daren knew for a fact that Madison would take care of James and treasure him. that and they both were recovering from something big happening in their lives so they would both be able to take the slow, slow pace they would need to start a new relationship. Daren stood and helped James to his feet, "alright, let's get you seated and we'll blow this joint!"

He nodded, gently taking the card and looking at the number, still smiling softly. "Thank you, Dr. Madison, I'll remember this." and gave a slightly brighter smile toward the man as he left. He was really nice for a doctor. Timothy couldn't remember seeing a doctor who cared so much about their patients. His eyes were a different shade of blue, a very nice shade. A gentle and soft shade, not like Daren's which were dark, deep and sharp. His were protective. And speaking of Aomine, the man helped him to his feet and slowly helped him into the wheechair. "Time to leave, then." he said with enthusiasm, grabbing the nearby teddy bear and placing it on his lap, scratching at the dried sauce stain.

Daren saw James scratching at the stain and smiled, "Don't worry. we'll get it out, if i can't then Anna can. it's amazing what that woman can do." he pushed James to the elevator and then out the lobby, heading for the parking lot. "Iroh said they parked my car third row to the left, first slot..." he looked and saw it right away, "there we are." it didn't take long to push James to the car and unlock it. "alright, let's load teddy into the back and you in the front. where do you want to go first? we could go grab some groceries and then stop by Anna and Tarte's before going home. we can get your clothes this afternoon, once you've settled in. or we could get clothes first and then the rest. it doesn't matter to me the order."

Anna? Oh, Timothy paled almost immediately, remembering they had to go to a bakery. They were getting something apple though, like apple pie or pie in general and suddenly he wasn't hungry at all, throat twitching and ready to close. The chilled winds hardly bothered him as he went outside, Daren speaking about what they should do. He didn't want to go to the bakery now, he wanted to wait, put it off as long as possible. "Clothes first." he said weakly as the teddy bear was placed into the back. "I think I'd like at least a set of pajamas and enough clothes for eight days."

Daren nodded, "Sounds good to me. we'll head to the mall then." he helped James into the passenger seat and crouched down beside him, "you look pale, are you sure you want to go shopping right now?" he didn't want to push the man too far. "I know, we'll go the Burlington." it had nice clothes and there wouldn't be very many people there at this time of day so it just might be perfect." he folded up the chair and put it in the back with the bear before getting in the driver's side and pulling out. it was strange doing all this with only one arm, but he managed. there wasn't much that could slow him down for long. "it's not far from here, and we should be able to get everything you need there." true to his word, they turned into the parking lot less than ten minutes later and parked as close to the front as he could get. normally he parked in the back, but with James he wanted to get close. "alrighty, here we are." he got out and got the chair before helping James into it and pushing him through the moving doors into the store. "men's section is this way." he pushed James to where he could see the different sections within the men's and stopped, "Where to first? top, bottoms, shoes, underwear or pjs?"

"Um, if that's where we buy clothes." He was going to die, a mall, teenagers, they'd all stare at him for being in a wheelchair. His mind swirled with these thoughts before Daren commented on his appearance. "No, no I'm all right." He said with a weak smile. "Burlington's coat factory?" He asked, ready to panic. He, he was dressed like a hoodlum and Daren wanted to take him to a nice middle class store! He looked out the window at the fall scenery, rubbing his bare arm nervously as Aomine spoke. It was rather quick though, suddenly in the parking lot, being brought out (and clinging to Daren for dear life while doing so), and then rolled in. Everyone dressed... like he and Daren were. Was this the middle class? When had fashion changed? He was so used to suits and there weren't really any good ones here. But they found Burlington in the mall and soon traveled around before finding the men's section. "Pajamas." he said. "Then underwear, then clothes. We'll need a basket though, won't we? I need so much. I'm sorry." he looked at the clothes before down at his flip flops. "I'm really sorry."

"No worries, mate," Daren said in his best Australian accent, winking at James. "they've got bags we can hand off the side of your chair so no worries." he had snagged one as they passed the entrance, but James must not have noticed. "pjs it is then!" he pushed James over and looked around at all the different styles and types there were. "huh, haven't bought actual pj's in years. they even have silk ones, crazy. what ones do you want to look at first?"

Timothy tried to smile yet tried to curl up all at once. People were indeed staring at him, children asking aloud why he was in a wheelchair and he gripped the jeans nervously. Stop looking, please stop looking, it wasn't his fault. It was, he'd been a bad boyfriend, but he was good, really. "Silk.' he said automatically, pausing and rethinking. Andrew made him wear silk, should he still wear silk? "Cotton?" he questioned.

"alright, we'll head to cotton and if you don't like anything we'll go to the silk." he pushed James to the section and then came around to hold up pairs and see if James liked them or not. "you can even get one of each if you wanted, i don't mind. i'd get a set of the silk ones for myself, but i'd spend all night rubbing the fabric together rather than sleeping.

Timothy was having trouble deciding, also finding a pair of pajamas that were soft but not silk or cotton. In the end, he'd bought three different pairs shamefully before they continued to look around. A lot of clothes Timothy needed help trying on, mostly how pant sizes were different with each brand before buying what they needed.. He was hesitant to go into the dressing rooms, but once in he clung close to Daren, this time allowing the other to dress him, doing his best to ignore the memories that dripped into his mind like oil slick. But that was over with and it was off to undershirts (Tim had demanded it) socks and boxer-briefs. They did also buy a pair of shoes. They were more hiking boots but Timothy downright declined tennis shoes, and hiking boots sort of looked like dress shoes. But soon they were in the car and driving again, Timothy wearing a sweater now. "Where are we going?" he asked softly. Just shopping had worn him out so much, and they still had the rest of the day to go.

"Just picking up some things at the grocery store for meals the next couple of days and then heading to Anna and Tarte's. they've already texted me to ask if we want to eat lunch with them, but it's entirely up to you." his missed text alert went off and he glanced at his pocket, had they sent another text asking again and he not noticed? the store he frequented for food stuffs was near his place so it took about fifteen minutes to get there, but traffic wasn't bad so he had a pretty much straight shot. he parked and was finally able to pull his phone out to check it. the text was from Iroh, and is frown deepened as he read it. I know you are heading home now and i was going to send you a list of things to avoid with James, but to be honest the list is too ******** long for a text. i'll email it to you, but if you are getting clothes then avoid leather, silk and satin. if you are getting food, avoid letting James see you buying ANYTHING long and slender in the produce. I am emailing the list now, be sure to read and memorize it as quickly as possible. Good luck, IrohDaren cursed himself, they had bought silk pj's. he shut his phone and smiled at James before getting out to get the chair. maybe he could hie them and claim they must have forgotten them at the store. it might work and if he just returned them, James would be none the wiser. he hoped so at least. it was easy to get James out of the car and into the chair. Daren could tell he was tire,d he was barely able to help at all with moving himself, but Daren didn't mind. "alright, what do we want to eat the next couple of days?" he asked as he pushed the cart into the store. he snagged a hand held basket and put it in James' lap, "Could you hold this for me, please?"

"Oh?" he asked, resting his head against the window sleepily. Did he want to eat lunch at Anna and Tarte's? Would he get killed? Would they gangbang him? It wouldn't be the first time. He heard the faint buzzing of the phone and yawned. "I don't mind." he murmured, eyes closing behind the glasses before he dozed off. To Timothy it only felt like closing his eyes before they were forced to open as Daren picked him up to put in the wheelchair. To eat? He yawned loudly as he was rolled in, nodding and taking the basket. "I like fish." he murmured, unable to hide his third yawn. "And coffee, and maybe some more fish." he murmured, wishing he had a pillow or was more awake.

Daren felt bad for waking up James, but he really had nothing in his cupboards and he didn't want James to be eating take out while he was recovering. "here-" he took off his outer jacket and rolled it into a ball before wedging it between James' head and the side of the wheeled chair, "here. try and get some more sleep, i've got this under control." he smiled and began to carefully push James along the isles on case he really did fall asleep. he would get what he needed for his menu, already having formed one in his head. they only needed a few more things from produce and they were done. he was worried about causing a panic attack here with possible memories and the like, but he liked fresh food and refused to get canned unless he had to.

"Oh, thank you." And smiled sleepily up at the officer, shifting slightly in the chair and resting his head against it. "are you sure?" he murmured, eyes closing against his will, hand moving up to remove his glasses. "If you insist, Aomine." and dozed off once more, eyes opening on occasion as though he thought he'd slept to long, but he'd look around then up at Daren before smiling and dozing once again.
