As Pupitar rocketed down hoping to smash into Electabazz he was instead met with the ground as the electric foe had done some impressive acrobatics to dodge the blow. He hit the ground with a cloud of dust stirring, and Pupitar was quickly back up on his 'feet' ready to advance. Crenu was of the same mind and didn't waste time, smirking lightly to see the Electabuzz on the defensive. "Don't give them any breathing room, bury him in a Rockslide." Pupitar was all to eager to put his opponent down, having to make up for the worthless spider messing up the last round. Eyes glowing as he stared at Electabuzz a large chunk of earth levitated from the ground and flung itself at the electric type with great force, breaking up as it did so raining rocks down over the area. It was a move of great power that could even take down multiple targets in multi battles, it was a favorite move of Crenu and Pupitar alike. They had worked hard to change the pace of this battle and they weren't going to give it back so easily. To control the field was to control the battle, the basics of any war.

Carlos was sleeping on deck, huddled up in his poncho with his sombrero over his eyes. He almost looked like an ornament as he slept soundly amidst the sea breeze and the warm tropical climate of the Hoenn region. When the boat came to a stop and the dock crew started fastening it to the posts the young man awoke and sprang to life. "Ah que bueno, we've arrived! To bad there's no gym leaders como Surge to pass the time on the boats. But we're back home!" Carlos let Maria out of her pokeball and smiled as the little blue bird fluttered out and perched atop his sombrero. She chirped happily and spread her cotton wings enjoying the Dewford air and warm sunlight. Carlos cracked his neck and back as he stretched and grinned, hurrying off the boat and hitting the sand glad to be on dry land again. Vamos Maria, let's go se la familia, I wonder how they are?" Carlos swung his guitar around to the front and started strumming gently, walking along the sand as he started to sing, it was good to be home.

Train sat on her bed, rummaging through her bag for lack of anything better to do at the moment. She came upon her wallet and wrapped the chain around her fingers a few times before letting it drop and pulling the actual wallet part open. She fingered through the money and was a little surprised; she had more than she thought. It was nice how it seemed to accumulate there, since she didn’t buy items much. She thought of maybe going to the PokéMart and seeing what kinds of things they had here. Though, she only had one badge, so there would be a limit to what they would actually sell her. Still, maybe it was worth a shot.

She slipped the wallet into one pocket (pajama pants with pockets were surprisingly difficult to find, but she was adamant), and unclipped a couple of PokéBalls (Pikachu and Raticate) and dropped them into the other before closing up her bag and moving it to the floor. She got up herself and left the room, feeling a lot less embarrassed than earlier at the way she was dressed. Still… Maybe she’d look for some sneakers while she was out.

Train’s first stop was, indeed, the PokéMart, but she found herself under whelmed by the options for her there. She really wasn’t all that interested in TMs, and the rest of the items were just… Well, practical stuff, but she kind of didn’t want to just spend money willy nilly on them? Perhaps it was a bad thing to be stingy about, but, oh well.

Next she found herself at a clothing store, but after browsing some of their shoes, she decided that she really did not have enough room for an entire pair of sneakers in her messenger bag. Nor did she need to added weight. She did, however, decide to grab a pair of flip flops. Though not her favourite kind of shoe, they were small, light, and looked a lot less stupid with pajamas than boots did. She inquired about the gym as she was checking out, and the salesgirl almost laughed as she told Train of the numerous trainers she’d seen exit the place completely soaked.

As she was heading back to the Pokémon Center, Train realized that her regular clothes weren’t the best option for her upcoming gym battle, anyway. In fact, she still had a bathing suit shoved away in that bag somewhere…
PostPosted: Sat Jul 21, 2012 7:44 pm

It didn’t take long for Train to find the crumpled swimwear in her bag. It was a pretty small bag. She had swapped her wallet for her other two PokéBalls (though she could not in any way see Growlithe being used in this fight, she felt bad leaving him there all alone. …even if he probably didn’t know it) and quickly changed into the bikini. She pulled on her swim trunks and looked at her PokéBalls, which were placed on her bed in the order they’d been on her belt. As she looked at them, she realised she had no way of telling which ball held which Pokémon… They were all just normal PokéBalls. She kept them in pretty good shape, too, so there weren’t like, scuff marks or anything she could use to tell them apart…

She dug bag into her bag and pulled out her pencil case. She didn’t have any markers, so she tried very hard to write the first letter of each Pokémon’s name onto their respective PokéBall, but that…wasn’t…working so well. It would probably just rub off in her pocket. She sighed, and, realising that there wasn’t really much else she could do, pulled out her belt and clipped the PokéBalls back into place. Wearing a belt with a swim suit would look a lot less ridiculous than having no idea which Pokémon she was calling out.

She put the belt on loosely around her waist and grabbed her room key. She put her hand on the doorknob and took a deep breath before pulling it open to leave the room. She was pretty confident in herself and her Pokémon, but she was still really really nervous about challenging a gym leader. Especially since her last one hadn’t ended exactly…gracefully.

The teenager found herself in front of the gym rather quickly, and stood before the large doors for at least a moment before entering. She was a bit taken aback; the place was literally just…a giant pool. Trainers dotted the walk way and the pool alike, and she was just…a bit surprised by it all.

The Tomboyish Mermaid was lounging in a lifeguard chair, overlooking the pool and its current inhabitants, the gym's populace having grown since her early morning match. She still reflected on the battle with Riza, still trying to decide how annoyed she was that she lost. She still recalled the belligerent Crawdaunt and instead decided she would have to catch a Corphish herself sometime in the future to use in battles. They certainly seemed eager to fight. As her gaze swept over the pool and the poolside, she noticed the newcomer, a girl with dirty blonde hair who looked a bit surprised by the decor. The redhead grinned before calling out to her.

"Hey, you!" she pointed at Train from her seat, though she sat up to get a better look. Her voice was loud enough to carry over the revelry of those in the pool, and some even quieted once they heard the gym leader. "You're here to challenge the gym, aren't you?" Misty called, already slipping from her chair. The girl in question answered the affirmative. "All right, everyone out of the pool! There's an official Cerulean Gym battle going on! Where's the ref?" Misty removed her jacket, revealing the same one-piece swimsuit she had worn earlier. The blonde ref stepped forward as the rest of the trainers removed themselves from the pool, filing either onto the bleachers or to see the aquarium. Once the pool was empty, save for the floating beds that were still usable for Pokemon battles, the ref began to speak.

"Let's get this official gym match going," Liam said, lifting up a hand. "The leader of the Cerulean Gym, Misty, versus the cute new challenger! Three Pokemon allowed, no items, no switching! Begin." He stepped back after raising his arms above his head and letting them fall, to which the redhead rolled her eyes and chose a Pokeball from the belt wrapped loosely around her wrist. Misty released Goldeen into the pool, the Goldfish Pokemon already splashing about. He was eager to return to battle and prove himself. "What's your name, anyhow?" Misty asked, not minding as the water splashed at her feet as she waited for Train to release her first chosen Pokemon.

Jett listened to the older boy's story intently, remaining silent for the whole part of it, though expressing his interest by raising his eyebrows and letting out a soft, "Oh," on occasion. Jasper certainly had quite the experience during their time apart, and he wondered how he didn't even see two Rockets while he headed to the route. Perhaps they went another way... or they had moved while he was still training with Aerosmith and Athena. But he glad that Jasper was unharmed during the incident and that his team was prepared to handle themselves. When the boy finished, Jett laughed softly.

"I doubt anyone expects that," he said, recalling something his brother had told him, "but the best you can do is be prepared, should it happen, I guess. I'm uh..." The raven-haired boy paused then, only for a beat, before he continued, tone quieter. "It's good, though, that's you're all right. Some Rockets can get vicious, I heard. There was that whole thing at Slateport on the news, not too long ago..." His hands turned Naja's Pokeball over and over again, almost like a nervous tic, but he didn't appear to notice. Jett glanced over the counter, noticing the pink-haired Nurse Joy and asking suddenly, "So, what're you gonna do now?"

Train was honestly relieved that the gym leader had noticed her and whatnot, rather than forcing the teen to make her way up to the other girl awkwardly and make herself known. Things unfolded rather rapidly from there, and Train had to rush to her spot on the opposite end of the pool. She rested her right hand on the belt as the announcer spoke, and she felt the blood jump to her face when the announcer, uh, mentioned her. She was very unsure how to feel about this and chose to simply ignore it, staring very intently at Misty’s Goldeen for a second before the gym leader's question got to her.

"Oh, uhm, my name is Train," She replied, looking up at the other girl. She then proceeded to snatch the first ball off of her belt. She clicked the button once so the PokéBall grew, then, after a very short hesitation, heaved the ball out over the water so that her Pokémon was released onto one of the floating beds.

”Alright, Pikachu! Show time!”

Kasiya was pretty sure at this point that if she never battled or even saw another Crawdaunt for the rest of her trainer career it would be too soon. That Mark guy she'd battled a few times now and Mike, and now Riza had one too. It was a little amazing to see how many people had the same species of Pokemon. Now, Kasiya wasn't sure what sort of tactic Riza would employ to deflect or somehow counter Rosemary's Petal Dance, but after witnessing her performance in the contest last night, she was certain it would be effective. Or, they could just charge into it headlong, and Kasiya watched with amazement as the lobster stood strong against the flurry of petals, managing even, to go through it and then suddenly the Meganium was crying out in pain as Diemia's Brick Break hit home, doing a lot more damage than Kasiya thought it would. She grit her teeth and said nothing, knowing that she couldn't give any orders now as Rosemary had at least one more turn of Petal Dance to go, perhaps a second, and when those turns were up, confusion would set in and this would get much more difficult for the blonde. Once again, the mane of flowers on Rosemary's neck shimmered a brilliant pink and she directed the storm of gorgeous petals at the Crawdaunt. She couldn't let her trainer down now!

Kasiya had also noticed, out of the corner of her eye, that Amy and the other girl's battle was starting to get interesting, as the redhead had sent out an impressive Onix, and Amy had quickly countered with her sweet Bayleef. Kasiya had to struggle to hold back her squeal of excitement, and she really wanted to talk to Amy and have Rosemary meet the young Bayleef. Perhaps they could be friends!

A cloud of gloominess was still hanging over Jake's head as the group crossed the wildflower field, his initial amazement by all the sweet smells and vibrant colours quickly erased by his misery. He hardly noticed Grotle's indignation over Cirrus' treatment of the flowers, as the Grove Pokemon was nowhere near as fast as the Shinx and could only totter along in the kitten's wake, trying to perk up the ruined flowers. He also hadn't noticed the quiet coming from Jade either; in fact he didn't really notice anything until they'd actually made it back into town and were standing at the counter of the Pokemon Center. "Hmm? Oh, no, I don't think I need anything," Jake answered, finally recalling a rather winded-looking Grotle. "Though, we should probably nose around for some real camping gear, otherwise we could be in for another rough night." He knew his sleep had been troubled the night before, and he hoped he hadn't kept Jade awake because of his nightmares. And though he was beginning to trust himself less and less, he couldn't bear the thought of traveling alone right now.

The pair's Pokemon were returned to them rather promptly and Jake thanked the nurse as he slipped the Pokeballs into his pocket. He felt much better now that he had real footwear and semi-real clothing, and he slipped his aviator jacket back on, feeling an odd sense of comfort and security attached to the garment. "So, should we find some camping stuff? Or did you need to go to the PokeMart for something?" he asked, already heading toward the door.

It was difficult for Karrigan not to wince when Amy released Flora from her Pokeball, not only because she knew it didn't mean good things for Aegeus, but because she'd also clenched a fist with her impaled hand, and now she could feel a wet warmth starting to seep through the bandages. Aegeus was much swifter now that he'd increased his speed, but all of the speed in the world wouldn't save him from the Magical Leaf that Amy just called for. They couldn't outrun it, but perhaps they could deflect it somehow? Karrigan continued to clench her fist, suddenly wishing she'd sent out Lennier or Ikouma instead. Aegeus hadn't seen battle in some time, and Karrigan had been dumb enough to send him out when she knew very well her opponent had not one, but two Pokemon that had severe advantages over him.

"Aegeus, use Rock Tomb," she called suddenly, the command feeling as though it had magically appeared on her tongue. The Onix gave a loud roar and slammed his tail down on the ground, and pillars of rock began to shoot up from the ground, one after the other in a straight line, starting at the point of impact and charging straight toward Flora. The first Rock Tomb blocked some of the Bayleef's Magical Leaf, but not nearly enough to protect the Rock Snake from the damage and he roared savagely, instantly shedding his gentle and calm demeanor in favor of a more intimidating one.

"Yeah, that Slateport thing," Jasper repeated, nodding slowly. To be completely truthful, he hadn't paid too much attention to all the news broadcasts and stories they ran, though he had heard enough to know that it had all been instigated by Team Rocket, and that they'd caused a lot of damage and injuries as well as stealing quite a few Pokemon from unsuspecting trainers. From what he knew of them, the organization originated from somewhere in the Kanto region, and over the years had slowly spread their influence to Johto and Hoenn, as well. He wouldn't be surprised if in the coming weeks, they were to learn that Team Rocket was also making appearances in Sinnoh and Unova as well. Jasper glanced back in the direction of the treatment room, unable to help but wonder if Koffing had once belonged to a trainer out there somewhere, only to have fallen into the clutches of Team Rocket. Those thoughts were unsettling and he suddenly wanted his Pokemon back, right this very moment.

Jasper turned back to face the lobby, noticing Jett's spinning of a Pokeball in his hands and he wondered if the younger boy's thoughts were similar to his. He also couldn't help but grin as he remembered meeting the dark-haired boy and their boisterous, mop-haired companion as he'd simply stopped to ask a couple of girls for directions and then the next thing he knew, he was a spectator of the first double-battle he'd ever witnessed. It also occurred to him that neither of his new friends had really seen him battling all that much, and that made him wonder what they thought of him as a trainer. After all, Jasper didn't think much of himself, as he was sure most people could have accomplished the few things he had; capturing Paras and returning a naughty, runaway Pokemon to a prestigious professor, and fending off a couple of novice Rockets that didn't seem to know their Pokeballs from their other balls. He decided then that even though he really disliked being called a Pokemon Trainer, he would really have to step up his game from here on out.

Jett's question caught him slightly off guard, and he shrugged, not knowing if the boy meant now - what would he be doing with that Koffing - or later, following his and Scarlet's gym challenges the following day. "Koffing's in good hands here," he answered, chewing at his cuticle, but he looked towards the door and nodded. "After you guys have your battles tomorrow morning, I was thinking of heading back to Violet. Seeing if that Falkner guy can handle Ditto and Totodile." He smirked, wondering if it would be against the rules to have Ditto use his normal Pikachu-form to zap all of the Gym Leader's Pokemon into oblivion, or if he'd have to made Ditto take the forms of the bird Pokemon Falkner were to use. He'd definitely need to train if he wanted a snowball's chance in hell of winning that badge. "What about you? After you secure Bugsy's badge, where are you heading next?" It hadn't occurred to him until just then that their trio might split up as ambitions took them in separate directions.

Jasper's story had impressed the dark-haired youth some, especially since he could only imagine himself in some state of panic if confronted by some grunts who wanted to take his Pokemon away from him. He realized then that he had never seen the older boy battle before but presumed instead that he was by all means capable: Jasper, in their short time together, seemed quite level-headed and clever, not prone to make ridiculous or rash decisions or let his insecurities get the better of him. And Pokemon like his Ditto and Totodile and even Paras would prove to make a diverse, formidable team. He considered it for a moment longer and saw his friend smiling, perhaps at some far-off memory, and found himself faintly grinning in return, though he did not mean to. He averted his gaze and watched the others in the lobby, though there were not many, and realized how long a day it had been.

"You'll definitely give him a run for his money," Jett replied after a pause, slightly surprised by the inevitable news of their parting ways. He should have expected that Jasper had wanted to go on his own journey and adventures, but he did not think it would be so soon... The dark-haired boy realized he would miss Jasper, then. He thought over the next question carefully, wondering how he was going to spend his time after Bugsy. Would Scarlet leave, too? Being all alone, he might have gotten on a train and just switched regions, if he was perfectly honest. But he had just gotten here. "I'm definitely gonna head to Goldenrod after this, pick up some things and maybe challenge the gym there. But I dunno. I guess... I just want to get better." He thought of Miharu and Sam, then, and how they had completely trounced both Scarlet and him. But he wasn't angry at the two girls, or disappointed with himself. The thought only brought a sense of excitement, the idea that he could be as strong as them, with a full team of powerful, unique Pokemon. His gaze fell upon Naja's Pokeball for a moment. An Arbok and a Gallade, not to mention a Noctowl and a Beautifly... and who knows what else I can get? "I'm gonna work on my team," he decided aloud, looking back up at Jasper with a serious expression. "I'll catch more Pokemon and we'll train and earn badges... and someday soon, we'll meet and have a battle. Okay?"

"Give it your best, Train!" Misty called out with a friendly smile, though it quickly faded when she saw the blonde's first choice in Pokemon: a Pikachu. Electric-types were not among Misty's favorites, and whenever trainers brought in those little yellow Pokemon she was always filled with a vague sense of dread. The pool was not the best battlefield to use a Thundershock on. But that didn't necessarily have to be the case; Misty could gain control of the battle just as it started if she played her cards right.

"Goldeen, use Supersonic!" she called, pointing a digit at the little yellow mouse. The Goldfish Pokemon complied immediately, already nearing the Mouse Pokemon with slight caution. Once close enough, the Water-type opened its mouth and generated the odd soundwaves that, hopefully, would confuse its opponent. Misty should only be so lucky, but she was also curious to see how this girl would rise to the challenge. Every trainer seemed to battle differently, and she loved to see what her newest challenger's style was.

Amy felt a slight pang of guilt when she saw her friend wince, wanting to apologize for something but knowing that she should not. Instead, she focused on the battle at hand, and her own fists clenched when she heard the command for Rock Tomb. Rock-type attacks made her nervous, mostly because they seemed to be sheer power and strength attacks that would bulldoze over Pokemon. Not many coordinators she had seen employed Rock or Ground-types, but she knew that they were strong and that the attacks would be large in scale. Which meant that it would be more difficult for Flora to avoid attacks. She bit the inside of her cheek and tried to think of a counter, and fast, but all of the attacks Flora had would not stop the pillars from rising.

"Try to move out of the way," Amy called out, knowing that she must have been too late from the speed of the attack. Flora leapt immediately to the side, but one of the pillars of rock struck her and sent her tumbling away, off her feet. The bespectacled girl glanced back at Aegeus, a little taken aback by his new demeanor, but tried not to let it get to her. Intimidation was a common tactic in battles, even Jerome and his Cacturne had used it during their contest round. The thought of that disaster made her jaw clench and she waited for Flora to struggle back to her feet, the Grass-type being a little shaken from the force of the impact. "Use Razor Leaf," she said, and immediately the quadruped released a small set of leaves that sliced through the air, intent upon slicing into the Rock Snake Pokemon.

Jade had forgotten about their need for camping things, but she realized that it would probably be a wise decision to get at least some sleeping bags to avoid having back problems for the rest of her known life. She thanked the nurse as her Pokemon were given back to her, fully healed and in their Pokeballs, and attached them back to her belt. There would have to be a lot of intensive training sometime soon, especially if she was going to keep with Cirrus and not release him back into the wild. She didn't know how strong Eterna's gym leader was, but she wouldn't underestimate an opponent and let herself by humiliated in front of her friend.

"No, I don't need anything from the Pokemart," she said, mentally checking down the list of things she already did have. She had some Pokeballs left, and they would have to be enough for however many Pokemon she intended to catch in the forest. "Where do we get camping gear, though? Lead the way, cowboy." Jade wasn't sure why she even called Jake cowboy, but it quickly settled as a nickname for him in her mind and using it gave her a small sense of comfort, even if he would leave her stranded when she told him that his only companion was actually a runaway. Well, she supposed that everyone had baggage. But even the blonde seemed a lot more put together than she was.

Train was at a loss. She wasn’t really sure how exactly to counter a sound wave generating attack, but instinct still drove to her to call out, ”Try and dodge it, Pikachu!” Even as she said it, it just seemed kind of…ridiculous? Running away from sound…but she didn’t have time to dwell on the fact. Pikachu turned to run to the end of the floating bed, his goal being to hop to another, but the waves were already upon him. They actually knocked him back a little, and as he struggled to his feet, Train could already tell something was off. The Electric-type stumbled as he stood, barely managing to stay on his feet. She barely held in an exasperated sigh; this wasn’t exactly how she’d pictured this battle going.

”Oh, Pikachu…” She murmured, heart sinking. Well, she certainly wasn’t going to use an Electric-type attack right now. A confused Pokémon in a giant pool firing off electricity? She didn’t see that ending well in most cases. She quickly skimmed through her Pokémon’s movepool in her head, and boy did he learn a lot of attacks that required electricity. She didn’t think that something like Double Team would go well, because if he could barely stay on his feet, how was he supposed to maintain solid illusions of himself? ”Alright, Pikachu, try to get your focus back! Hit that Goldeen with a Tail Whip!” She finally commanded. It wasn’t anything special, but it wouldn’t be a disaster if he couldn’t pull it off, and if he did, then it would still be helpful.

Pikachu nearly lost his footing for the probably eighth time, despite being on all fours to try and help his balance. He finally placed his two front feet down firmly, and though he was swaying a bit, it was better. Train’s words came to him a bit muffled, but he was pretty sure he got the gist, and his tail began glowing faintly as he prepared for the attack. He took a couple of steps forward but stopped almost immediately as the bed was rocked by the water and he lost his footing again. The glow died down and it became very obvious that this attack was not happening.
PostPosted: Sun Jul 22, 2012 6:10 pm

The redheaded gym leader felt a bit more at ease now that Pikachu would have a harder time using its Electric-type moves, since they would be the ruin of her Water-types. Goldeen seemed particularly smug itself, diving deeper into the pool as the mouse fumbled about and tried to keep a hold of his footing. Misty called for him to come back to the surface, casting a slightly apologetic glance toward the challenger for fear that her Pokemon was being rude. Goldeen got a bit proud sometimes, and that would be his undoing, most often than not. Once Train ordered for a Tail Whip and it was not executed, Misty made no expression nor remark, only carefully observing the yellow mouse and hoping that it would not fall into the pool. That would be a mood dampener, to be sure.

"Horn Attack," she called instead, and Goldeen dove back under the surface before turning back upwards, beginning to gain momentum as it swam towards the Pikachu. Finally, it leapt from the water, aiming to pierce the Electric-type with the sharp horn on its head before it arced over the floating bed and returned to the water, already bracing for some sort of retaliation.

Pikachu shook his head, hard, a couple of times, trying to clear away what felt like muck in his brain. He was vaguely aware of Misty’s voice, and stumbled a step to the side, looking up and over the water. He wasn’t even sure of what his opponent was anymore, but he tried to see something in the water. Suddenly, Goldeen was at his side, and a sharp pain was forcing its way through his body. Pikachu was knocked right over, wincing as the water hit him as Goldeen splashed back into the pool.

It hurt (ITSELF IN ITS CONFUSION kill me), but now that he’d been all jostled around he actually felt a bit more alert. The water didn’t seem so vast and endless, and he shook his head a few more times, listening intently now for Train’s orders.

She’d been quite aware that dodging the attack was probably out of the question, and Train had been thinking of what to do next. As Pikachu turned his head and actually looked her in the eyes, Train’s hopes began to rise again. He still seemed a little off, but it was a lot better than the bumbling Pokémon that had been in his place just a moment ago.
"C’mon, Pikachu, hit that thing right back with an Electro Ball!” She remembered seeing this attack in her Pokémon’s movepool, and though she wan’t very familiar with it, from what she’d read on her PokéDex it seemed like a pretty good move. Thundershock and Thunderbolt were both pretty general moves, and with the vast amount of water surrounding the place, including covering the walkways and bleachers, she could only imagine that if it went wrong they could end up spreading out over nearly the entire arena. Electro Ball was much more concentrated, though, so it seemed like a pretty good choice for now.

Pikachu registered the command much easier this time, and as he braced his body, a few stray spark of electricity began flying off of his body. A small orb began to form by his tail, and began to grow. Once it was about the size of a PokéBall, the Mouse Pokémon turned his body jumped up into the air a bit, using his tail to smack the orb straight down into the water where the Goldeen has last disappeared.
PostPosted: Sun Jul 22, 2012 6:58 pm

Misty smiled faintly, glad that the Horn Attack had successfully hit the confused little mouse, but she knew that their luck would not last forever. Even now, the attack seemed to jolt Pikachu to attention and Train took advantage of that, ordering some kind of Electric-type attack or another. Misty wasn't really sure what this one was, she hadn't heard it used many times before, but she knew that anything starting with Electro- or Thunder- usually meant she was screwed for the time being. "Goldeen, watch out!" she called, fingers curling into fists as she tried to look for the Goldfish Pokemon below water. But Goldeen had assumed that this would be another failure and began to prepare for another attack, despite the fact that the Electric Mouse Pokemon was already launching a projectile sphere of pain right for it. The attack hit directly, the electricity sending currents of shocks all over the fish as it flailed about. The redhead watched on, her eyes narrowing slightly. Water-type moves would not be as effective on the Electric-type, which narrowed down Goldeen's movepool by quite a bit. Not to mention how Goldeen was already looking a little worse for wear from the Electro Ball...

"Use another Horn Attack," she ordered, making sure that her voice was steady and calm. Goldeen was happy to oblige, severely annoyed from that last attack. After a pause, the goldfish leapt out of the water, lancing through the air again. Misty knew she couldn't keep repeating the same attack, and began to think that perhaps it was time to bring out some of the TM moves she had taught Goldeen. There was a certain attack she thought might prove quite useful in a situation like this.

As Pikachu landed back down on the floating bed, he wobbled a bit, having to step out with one foot in order to keep his balance. At this point, though, Train wasn’t sure if it was because of the confusion, or simply the water moving the bed about. She switched her focus to the depths of the pool, now, trying to make out whether the attack had worked or not. There seemed to be a bit of brighter glow in the water, and as the surface of the water rippled, she had hope that it had hit.

When the Goldeen emerged from the water again, it seemed a bit angrier, and she thought she could see some faint scorch marks where the attack had hit. She saw no point in hiding her satisfaction, and let a small grin break onto her face. This was quickly replaced by a more serious look, however, as she remembered that the fish was out to get her Pokémon again.
”Pikachu, do you think you can dodge it this time?” She yelled out to her Pokémon, but too late. He was already trying to dart out of the way on instict, but these beds were really not large enough to be running around on, and it was slippery now from all the water on it.

He toppled into the water as the Goldeen’s horn smashed into him, but he was thinking clearly now and twisted away from the fish. He snatched and clawed at the floating bed, pulling himself back up onto it and shaking out his fur, wincing from the pain of the attack. He’d now been stabbed twice in just about the same spot, and boy was it hurting.

Dodging did not seem to be a very plausible action here. Still, there was something else they could do to avoid these attacks.
”Alright, use Double Team!” The teenager commanded, planting her feet firmly. Her Pokémon stood on all fours and began to focus, and it was only a short moment before three copies of himself appeared on the floating bed beside him.

Leon was just about ready to reel the line back in when something finally tugged it under the water and began try to escape with it. He yanked hard, and as the bobber reappeared on the surface, a big blue and red something or other came after it.

”Good, good! Now reel it in, lad!” Mr. Briney cheered, watching Leon. The boy tugged on the line a bit and set about reeling the Pokémon in. It jumped up on its own as the line neared the boat, and it was now very easy to see that the thing was a Tentacool. It glared down at Leon and the trainer quickly retrieved one of his PokéBalls, tossing it up into the air and sending out his beloved Misdreavus. The Tentacool was already sending out a spray of poisonous needles at Leon, who dropped the fishing rod and jumped out of the way, at the same time commanding Muuma. ”Astonish!”
