▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ Hello Darkness, my old friend, I've come to talk to you again Because a vision softly creeping Left its seeds while I was sleeping And the vision that was planted in my brain, Still remains, Within the sound of silence.
In restless dreams I walked alone, Narrow streets of cobblestone. 'Neath the halo of a street lamp I turned my collar to the cold and damp, When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light, That split the night, And touched the sound of silence. ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ Morgan held out his hand as Atticus introduced himself, though it was a foreign gesture to him now, it seemed the appropriate thing to do in front of another human being. "I'm Morgan Duke... I was a teacher at St. George's before..." he said, but paused and composed himself as he asserted, "Yes, before."
Once they had exchanged enough pleasantries for Morgan's taste, he said, "As much as I detest adventure at this point in my life, it stands to reason that we are both in need of another place to stay. Might I suggest we look together and navigate what remains of our city?" He pursed his lips and looked around, weilding his cricket bat in hand before he sighed softly and continued, "Though I haven't the faintest clue where we should start. I would, however, recommend that we proceed with caution... for 'it is better to be careful a hundred times than to be killed once,' as the saying goes..." Clearing his throat, he looked to Atticus to lead. The younger man certainly could prove to be the first rabbit through the snare, as it were, and pave a save path for himself. Besides, Atticus and his physique looked to play the part of a strong lad that would fend off those that opposed them.

Sebastian Shortly after he said, "Hello?" Sebastian heard a small chirp of some sort. It appeared to be a tiny bird, landing on a tree branch right next to him. It was relieving to be in the company of such a subtle creature. No sooner had the bird landed on the branch, than a door above him opened up, revealing a girl.
"Hello." The girl replied back to him. Sebastian stood there for a moment, not even sure of what he wanted to say. All he knew was that he saw a place that looked safe, and he didn't want to be down here on the ground anymore. "Uh- hi." He said awkwardly. "I don't mean to be a bother, but I was just walking through this forest and saw this... magnificient structure. To be honest, it looks a lot more safe than being here on the ground." He said.
"Well, I was wondering if maybe I could come inside. Just for the night!" He assured, seeing the girl's face. She looked tired, and Sebastian was normally a very polite individual, never asking anything of others. But tonight was different. Very different.

Xavier stood up, after assurance that Coraline was alright. He stepped over to the side of the rooftop, and peered down the fire escape. Icarius had fired off some shots, and he feared they were trying to get up. But for now, it looked as though they were too stupid to climb.
Xavier stepped away from the side of the roof, and surveyed their surroundings. The rooftop was pretty desolate, besides the small door, which he figured led down into the gun shop. If the infected didn't know how to climb a ladder, there was a slim chance they would figure out how to get up here.
"I'll keep watch here." He said to Icarius, taking a seat at the far corner of the roof. This gave him a clear view of the alleyway, the front of the shop, and the video arcade where the infected came from. There seemed to be someone hiding in there. Xavier heard them call to Icarius, but didn't know what they had said.
Cocking his gun, Xavier laid back against the side of the building to rest.

Coraline looks around to see Xavier and Icarius doing their own thing. She gets up and looks around the side of the building where the horde of zombie's are trying to get to the fire escape. She watches them seeing them struggle. It didnt amuse her to see many people covered in blood and limbs falling apart, she was just wondering. They have no memory what so ever, yet they know how to walk, run, eat, and fight. Then Coraline remember's the brain retains base facilities, namely gross motor function. In its near-mindless state, it grasps no remains of emotion, personality, or sensation of pain. Coraline watches for awhile then walks back to her spot where she was sitting. She grabbes her shotgun takes it off safty and puts it beside her.She puts her head down with her hands in her pockets and closes her eyes. Thinking how they are going to leave.

Morgan Duke, Atticus committed it to mind, it was a thing he hoped he wouldn't have to remember alone, he would prefer if the man attached to it stayed alive, but if not Atticus promised himself he would remember the name of anyone who helped him, at least until he perished himself. He could tell Morgan had a difficult time talking about the recent past, as Atticus was sure he would too, if he dared speak about himself, he didn't care to dwell on the past, he wanted to think of only of the future as he was completely aware nothing would ever be like it was before, even if he did survive. Morgan spoke again, and Atticus realized the man was intelligent, and incredibly well-spoken, as was he, which would have been quite useful to them before though he knew it may still help, it was just depressing to know that two college educated, respectable men had less of a chance to survive than a couple of common thugs, he sighed before responding, "A part'ership would lie-ly be beneficial, though I must confess I've never 'ad a reputable sense of direction."
He scratched the back of his head, and looked around, aware that though his university was only yards behind him he had never had reason enough to venture into the city so he knew very little about it, his spending holidays in France with the family and never having any friends to go out with had never bothered him until now. As Morgan spoke again, he sighed even more deeply, so he was stuck in a dead infested city, with another man who knew about as much of the city as he did, and who seemed to be looking at him as though he would make quite good bait. "...careful a 'undred times, then. Sounds lovely..." Atticus stated quietly, slowly realizing that Morgan intended him to lead, which worried him just about as much as the creatures he'd seen shambling around. He couldn't deny it though, of the two he did look to be a little more competent, while he had cordy muscles from running the track almost every morning, a stout frame, and a brave air about him, where as Morgan was older than he, with the frazzled look of a man of intelligence that had been pushed too far into incivility. He brandished the bat in front of him, taking notice that Morgan had a similar weapon, and with a grin he quickly wiped away he walked forward, in the same direction he had been going, directly opposite of the university.

"People might look at you a bit funny, but it's okay...""They're not paying me any attention. I've got to leave here, I can't risk staying. Zombies could pour in from either end of the alley at any moment." Iridaeon took off towards a nearby mall where he had a summer job. Sebastian "Thank you so much!" Sebastian exclaimed, taking hold of a ladder at the base of the tree, and climbing up. He waited for the girl to lead him through the door of the treehouse, then stepped inside. He was immediately hit with a gust of warm air. The treehouse was insanely cozy inside. It was brightly lit, and smelled like wood. "You have no idea how much better it is in here. Thank you." Sebastian said once again.
He heard the girl speak to someone, and looked around. He suddenly noticed a boy whom he hadn't seen at first. The bird who had greeted him was perched on the boy's shoulder. "Oh, hello there." He said to the boy. He looked behind him to make sure the door was secured, then turned back to face the two inhabitants of the treehouse. "My name is Sebastian." He said, extending a hand, and waiting for either of them to take it.

There were too many people, too many flammable things… things just weren’t going to go well if things continued to go in this direction. Most of the zombies could be taken down with a few shots, but there were more out there that were… armored. She knew that this wasn’t normal. She hadn’t even seen them ever be able to do something like that before! “What the hell is this?!” Giving a sound of pain as one of the makeshift weapons clipped her arm, Tora snarled as she damned the idea of no fire.
Holding onto her arm, she snapped and the zombie went up in flames. She nearly singed herself with how close the two were, and there were more in its place in a matter of moments. But, before she could get her gun back out, something flew out and… ate it? Stunned for a moment, Tora turned to the side, shooting in between the makeshift armor pieces. Whatever help was there was great in her mind. “There aren’t many left. Just keep thinning the bastards out then let’s just get the hell out of here!” If the zombies in this area were this advanced, she needed to get Ziggy and the survivors and they needed to find a place to hide out immediately. If anything, the ship could be their hideout and they’d find a way to make it work.
Eyes snapping to every movement, she almost missed the zombie that went for her with some type of… flail? It was too big to be moved, but… that’s what it seemed like. She dodged, almost slipping and landing against Verra. Moving so they were nearly back to back, she spoke fast, “There are three above the rest, keeping some type of watch. They’re armored, so get them first, Verra.” Knock out the brain, if that’s what they could be called. █║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌│║║█║█║▌│█║▌│║║█║☰ ☱ ☲ ☳ ☴ ☵ ☶ ☷(Sorry for being so late so often now Dx )

Bartholomew blinked in surprise at the ambush. "Well, I quite wasn't expecting this..." He murmured as he whipped out his pistols. He heard a low moan behind him, and turned to the face of the undead. He gasped in surprise as he heard an unfamiliar voice warn him. He took a step backwards, and tripped, landing on his butt. The zombie lurched over him, a warm smile on it's friendly face. Shakily raising his pistol, Bartholomew lined up his sights, paused briefly, and fired, vanishing the head in a burst of blood. "Everyone stay together!" he yelled as the chaos continued, trying to pick off the zombies to conserve the ammunition. He was hit from behind. Bartholomew grunted and dropped a pistol, turning to face a zombie, holding a lead pipe. "What the hell?" he said, holding his arm in pain. It took a step closer, foolishly grinning, the pipe raised above his head.

There was a brief pause before Max spoke again, his voice darker and obviously confused by the doctor's invitation.
"I—dinner? What the ...uck are you talking about?"
This was followed by some scuffling noises before another voice, one much more upbeat and friendly (although equally bemused), carried over. Oliver had taken over the conversation.
"Wow, dinner sounds ... man, but for now, I think you should worry about the horde. ...ports are telling us that a dog or, uh, naked woman just entered the hospital? Is ... friendly or hostile? By the way, if anything ... to Natalie, I will tear you apart with a—"
"Focus, Oli. You guys need to ... upstairs and fortify the doors. Surveillance counts at least sixty left, and they're finding ... to crawl through. The faster ones seem to be getting inside by way of air ducts and windows."
Several seconds passed before the walkie talkie crackled again. This time, Max's voice came through crystal clear despite the awful reception.
"But Oliver's right. If anything does happen to her, I will kill you."{{Alice, how long do I have until Natalie is up and moving again?}}

Icarius frowned as the figure by the video store walked away from them, leaving them for dead, but he supposed he would do that if he were in that position as well. He looked around to see if there was a gap small enough to jump across and decided that there may be one corner where someone could get better footing, and the Zombies would be none the wiser to their movements. They were a bit thick, after all.
Icarius walked back over to Coraline and Xavier before he said, "There is a smaller gap between this building and the next. I think we could make it, and it would throw the Zombies off our trail for a while at least." He shrugged before he went back over to the ledge and backed up a moment before taking a running start and launching himself off the building; gun in his belt and hockeystick in hand. He landed on his feet and caught himself after a few steps before he looked back at the other two still on the gun shop roof.

Grimly, without much hope, Morgan followed the younger man as he walked away from where he had come from. Morgan looked around nervously, hefting the cricket bat in his hand as if it were only a necessary burden. He didn't know if he had the heart in him to kill those people--no, those things ever again. He'd seen so much death... he needn't see more.
Morgan heard only silence as they walked save for the steps of their footprints and it was rather unnerving. He felt as if he had to say something, and murmured softly, though half to himself: "'It was a spring without voices. On the mornings that had once throbbed with the dawn chorus of robins, catbirds, doves, jays, wrens, and scores of other bird voices there was no sound; only silence lay over the fields and woods and marsh... No witchcraft, no enemy action had silenced the rebirth of new life in this stricken world. The people had done it themselves...' Rachel Carson's Silent Spring... rather fitting I would think..."
Morgan frowned and glanced around nervously as they started to enter the downtown area which would've usually held so much movement and life, but was strangely so very still and lifeless.

Atticus hadn't been particularly optimistic when he's left his bed earlier that day, but the small about of optimism he did have was quickly squashed when he heard Morgan's quiet recitation. The gentle murmur of his voice was both soothing and utterly off putting, it reminded him both of his father's readings and of the creepy verses always recited at the beginning of horror movies, and he wasn't quite sure how to respond. "Would it have been worth while, To have bitten off the matter with a smile, To have squeezed the universe into a ball, To roll it toward some overwhelming question, To say: “I am Lazarus, come from the dead, Come back to tell you all, I shall tell you all.”" He murmured, remembering a favorite poem of his, and thinking it the best way to respond the his strange traveling companion. He put the verses from his mind, realizing that neither of them were what he needed to hear at this moment, though he was sure that no one was going to stroke his hair and tell him "Tout cela va bien se passer, le fils."
Walking forward, he saw they were quickly approaching downtown and though it seemed still and rather quiet he had a sinking feeling in his stomach that something terrible was bound to happen, and almost just as the thought passed through his mind a close by shuffling caught his ear, the sound of heavy footsteps scratching over pavement sent his mind into overdrive. "Morgan," he hissed, turning his head only slightly so his voice carried over his shoulder but nowhere else, "there 'es someting up a'ead." he felt the kick of adrenaline inside him, as he prepped for a fight he hoped wouldn't have to occur, but he never knew what waited beyond the twist of the road, for he knew that it could be a vast multitude of things from a flesh eating disaster to a goddamed chipmunk that his paranoid mind had blown way out of proportion, regardless he wanted to be aware though, even if it was a small woodland creature it would be a good chance to see how he and Morgan worked together.
