Before should have moved. He should have started running or pressed himself flat against a surface. He should have done something when the not-Aria b***h fell to her supposed doom and instead became this giant Godzilla wannabee. But too late. When the first attack occurred, Before felt the full blast and let out a blood curdling scream.

It seemed that any and all attacks that could possibly blind Before would. The heat burned at him and he couldn't see s**t. "s**t! s**t s**t s**t s**t!!!" he cussed, a gloved hand pawing at his face while the other clutched at his wheel. "Boss? After? Bix? Tika? ANY NON-TRAITOR HUNTER?!" he yelled out, blindly grasping at the air.
Put your trust in me, silly Before. Vanna instructed with a quiet authority.
Scorched flesh grimaced as the Life Hunter trainee pulled the collar of his coat as high as it would go. He still had bandages, didn't he? Later, he'll use them. Right now, Vanna was telling him to trust her when he threw her. Alright then. With both arms on the wheel, Before began to spin, gaining momentum.
I will return, silly Before. Vanna promised, just as Before blindly hurled her. She soared in a surprisingly graceful arc, cutting through the FEAR-laced air and colliding against Red's wings. b***h needed to be grounded, far as Vanna was concerned as she ricocheted back towards her partner's waiting arms.
Or rather right at her partner's waiting arms, sending Before toppling to the ground with a thud.
"Vanna? Vanna? Is that you?" he asked but was only answered with silence.

Tika had long sense given up on her trap gun. Specially now with the giant... Aria.. Red. .. . Double agent... MONSTER!? Oh s**t!
Lucky for the teen she'd been out of range with the shock wave and been able to find a safe enough spot to protector her self from the blue flames. That wasn't to say she was completely scott free. She wasn't. But Tika knew she was lucky. When it was safe, the hunter took a stance summoning Atti to her hands to prepare to fight.

Still reeling from his self inflicted wounds, the reaper Mot got to his feet, only to be tapped on the shoulder. He assumed it was a friendly, and turned to see who, only to turn again as Candace was now in his face. His terra cotta eyes widened, her teasing slander grating his confidence. She kicked him swiftly in the gut with her steel like boot weapons, sending the cowboil stumbling backward, clutching his stomach and hissing with pain. "You..Jackdamn.." It was a ghoul though. How could he attack a ghoul? This was the kind of situation Hel had warned him about.
However, Mot would not have time to worry about deciding how he would rationalize attacking a female, as a monstrous force erupted from the cliff side.
That was Red? How could it be? The feeling she gave off was unmistakable, albeit unnatural.
The ghoul with the pumped up kicks would have to wait. This was a much bigger problem, even worse than the scythe wielding false reaper.
Worse off, something in the air made his bones ache. Was it from the kick earlier?

This was the second surprise hug Colette received in the chaos, except this time she wasn't shoved away, and she was actually thankful. As the scene played out before her, Colette felt her stomach sink. Red was seemingly destroyed, and then returned, but what was she? A creature so enraged she risked all of their lives? The fire licked at the Reaper's unprotected flesh, and yet it wasn't as bad as it could be. Colette only assumed Danny's own body was absorbing what fire she wasn't receiving. She didn't have the time to relax however, as an unexplainable ache went through her entire body. What was happening? Perhaps a side effect of the fire?

There was no time for hiding now. Her team mates and even the enemy were attacking an even bigger threat. Capturing would have to wait, this was a much bigger threat.
With Atti gripped firmly in her hands, the huntress charged, leapt in to the air, but totally missed the tail when she landed. So much for looking cool.
Stop trying to be fancy and hit the damned thing!
"Your right Atti... Sorry..." She had goofed. She had goofed bad.

Everything was still trapped in this sort of surreal state. Things were on fire and there were people mobbing the shape that twisted and loomed above the group of students - the Goliath to their David. Shehk's own eyes glowed as they stared back into those of the figure that stood over them, reigning powerful. She was mighty, almost majestic in a way. Her crystal-clear chaos rampaged the field and wrecked havoc on everything. Everything except the hunters themselves. Flames and destruction did that for her.
Students fell before the entity that was meant to be a savior. And in all of it, the same 'why's played through her head like she was reading a novel and somehow found herself reading the same line of text over and over and over again..no matter how much she wanted to move on from what line she was on. She still found herself back at that same block of text over and over and over again. What she wanted was to get to the part of the book where the plot twist made sense and the reader was allowed in on the little secrets that would make the story more enjoyable.
Not that this story was meant to be enjoyed.
When Amrita reached out for her and embraced her, Shehk winced. THe wound in her back still ached, burned shut by flames, but it was forgotten in place of that pain that seemed to overtake her heart. She'd felt that pain before - Nukpana had inflicted it upon her in a manner that even this scenario now tried to rival. But it was hard for it to be the same...not when the situation nor the relationship destroyed were so different. The pricolici looked to the Vetala, tears still streaming down her face...yet unable to make any expression that didn't seem lost.
After a moment, she spoke quietly; "If that's all she was, then you didn't know her. She was a werewolf, she was a person, she had a life outside of the school sometimes, she had friends, she had allies, she had people who relied on her and put their trust in her. To some students, she was their hero...
She was my hero.
She fought for us, she might have even betrayed us at some point.....and she died for us. She died for us and now she has to have come back as this....shadow..of herself...and it isn't fair. She didn't deserve this. She didn't deserve any of it."
The tears began again, Shehk beginning to sob.
"IT SHOULDN'T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY, RED" she shrieked up at the impending figure. "HOW DO I FIX IT?? HOW DO I SAVE YOU FROM THIS?? TELL ME! TELL ME!!" Her voice quieted after a moment. "What do I have to do so we can all go home together?" she whispered, finally.

Amrita flinched. "I never said that was all she was, Shehk." The Vetala said quietly. Of course she would have friends and allies and be a hero to some; it wasn't like Professor Red was above all these things! She was a scareling like the rest of them. She never knew the real Red though, no matter what she said out loud. Unfortunately, she said that part in her head, and continued on out loud. "B-but I knew her to be strong, and I knew her to be brave, and I knew her to not sit and---." Then the shrieking happened, and Amrita flinched away from the ghoul, her ears ringing with how close she'd been to the noise. Now she was at a compelete loss at what to do; she had never tried to help someone like this before, and if she had tried it had never backfired. All she could really do was stay near Shehk, and be there for her until someone better at this showed up. Or something else happened. Either way. "I wasn't all awake for most of it, but even I know she fought to the bitter end." Amrita said weakly, quietly. Fought to the bitter end and became that, but she fought regardless.

"T-Tess...?" Her voice was soft, filled with uncertainty before she inhaled deeply and called out again, her voice still shaky but louder, "TESS?" There was no way she was going to attack the beast, not when it could be their professor... No way she was going to... Attack...
She tried to shake the feeling off, but found that she just couldn't - that feeling she felt back on that island was back. It made her shiver without the need to feel cold.
And it was difficult to ignore.

Something was wrong, light was growing from the vally where Red had fallen. Maybe Red was coming back? She had to be, she would never let this happen to them she would save them. She wasn't weak, she wasn't some frail student she was Red she would...
....
She would bathe the world in flames.
Even as Cass pulled away Sammy could only stare at the pillar of Blue fire washing over the field, her clothing had long dried up after the earlier waves of fire, this one took it's effect and turned it on the Ghoul in full. She had only a moment shrugging her jacket off one arm and raising it up as the flames blasted her, skin singed, dried, and burned behind the jacket. When the flame finally passed her jacket was ruined. Patches of it burned clean right through so she simply dropped it to the ground. Slowly she stumbled along towards Amrita, Shehk. Her friends; they were alive. For now. Even as she walked ghosts of other seemed to flicker by. Nox was laughing at her, Red scowled off to the side. Hellma was screaming at her; pointing out her flaws and arrogance all over again. It was like a knife to the head cutting through the very FEAR that made her causing her to stumble to the side in pain.
Eventually she made it in time to listen to Shehk's cries. She turned looking towards Red or what had become of her wondering the same thing. "I don't know Shehk... I don't know anything anymore. She was.... she should have.... it shouldn't be like this." She stumbled forward, standing between the two ghouls and Red. "Ami, take care of Shehk...okay?" She looked back towards Red with a frown, it wasn't it angry one, it was the frown of someone who had lost their hope's and dream's.
"We might not have a choice anymore... we can't let this go on or... or Red's going to kill all of us..." There she said it, she didn't want too, but it was true, Red didn't even seem to hesitate with that attack burning student and hunter alike in a single minded fury.HP: 11 ow 10 fire and ow 3 mental brain pain

"Danny? Danny, are you alright?" she asked. Never mind the declaration of friendship. "We have to do something." Colette looked at the hunters and students attacking Red, or what was left of their Professor in that hulking beast. She didn't' want to hurt it -- Red -- yet, or at all if it could be helped. That was their professor. "I.. I'm going to see of I can take out one of those things that tried to put us in nets while it's distracted. Don't die?" It was a very simple request.
Colette picked out a hunter, the one she had missed from before, and headed his way. If he was busying aiming, maybe it would be harder to miss him. Colette's FEAR shifted into her swords again, and this time much less flowed in compared to the first attack. The blade of each weapon split down their jagged center to reveal something resembling teeth, and as the FEAR poured in, those teeth grew in length for a fierce bite.
Weapons positioned for a stabbing motion, the Reaper charged at the boil once more. Please don't miss this time, she told herself. All she needed was to get something -- any limb of his between those blades for even a slight bite, cut, or scrape. Anything was better than missing again.
As she was about to attack, Colette could feel an abnormality in her FEAR. Something went awry, and her weapons simply vanished. The Reaper stopped in her tracks and began to panic. "No, no, no!" This had never happened before. She stood both defenseless and distracted while flicking her wrists once, twice, and a third time before they finally were summoned; returned to normal and her unprepared.

As the fire razed over the ground, Harrison was thankfully not caught in the hottest part of the blaze. He heard Caelius give orders.
Retreat. Second-most sensible thing he'd heard all day. Strike fast when you have the advantage, then get the hell out of dodge. That was real tactics. Now, if maybe they could work with getting on the same page with headsets or formations or hand signals. He didn't want to deal with any kind of giant animal on fire.
He held up his pendant and voiced a wary but relieved Return, only to have it sputter at him and do nothing.
What was the matter with it?
Return, he repeated, Return.
B0nez, what's the matter-
B0nez's present was distant, flickering like a bad lightbulb, and a stuttery song Harrison didn't recognize began to repeat in Harrison's head. It was the auditory equivalent of a David Lynch movie.
He looked around frantically. Jerry and Gale and a few others with long-ranged weapons had already shouldered them and sent them firing. There was nowhere to run except the cliff, nowhere to go except forwards. The creatures were falling apart, just like the pendants, and B0nez. Some of them attacked his squad members. Others turned horrified towards the Monster as they got burnt up too.

Though, when Tika looked back to find Before, she frowned.
I think you tripped over him. How did you not see Before right there?
The teen had no answer. Before was literally right there. But something seemed off? She wandered over to the older hunter and put a hand on his shoulder.
"Before..?"
