"Private military for uh... alright then." He leaned back in the chair trying to relax a bit but finding an empty stomach, a crazy red head, and no idea what was really going on it was rather near impossible to relax. "Military ******** ups are just as bad really... they don't like screw ups at all."

The rant continued onward though, his head cocked to the side, an axe? Alive and alive in their head? His arms crossed though it took a bit of effort as he watched. "So umm when and uhh how do I get this 'weapon' and umm where's yours? Is it like... shrunken down or something where does it go?"

Worst. Question. Ever.

"They don't kill you. Here they can and will. There's no dishonourable discharge. Just a ******** bullet."

Rep went from his over the top grand gesturing to immediately dropping all of his enthusiasm and giving Ro a very cold, very focused glare, his tone clipped and irritable. "They desummon. Into a totem form." He gestured with a finger to the two hoop earrings at the top of his right ear, but didn't drop the snarling hostility in his tone. "Those earrings are Tracey."

"And no, I can't summon him to show you. Because, if you must know." Despite not having asked. "I killed some old ******** woman on a mission or whatever. Got in trouble for disobeying orders. Weapon lockdown. So I'm stuck greeting the pod fodder for the time being till I can get back to being a ridiculous ******** badass okay? Its just a ******** temporary setback, so don't push your ******** luck by being nosey or when I get him back I'll introduce him to you." He'd leaned in uncomfortably close to the other man's personal space as he talked, and finally moved back, seeming to relax a bit, at least for a given value of relaxed.

"You get the weapon after this. There's a room with stone tablets in it. Those are the sleeping weapons. They choose you, not the other way around. You'll know yours when you see it." He looked him up and down. "I don't envy it, its going to have to work ******** hard to compensate for you."

His eyes went wide for a moment, "Bullet. Got it." Well that was a simple set up, listen well and you don't get shot. It was like home except instead of getting hit you got shot.

Suddenly what ever joy the talk of weapons was gone from the other boy. His eyes narrowing down and seeming to drill holes right through his head. "Totem's Tracey, right." What came next was a long full detailed story about how and why he couldn't summon said 'Tracey'. "I wasn't trying to be, I just, I just wanted to see I mean, you said it er he was cool I'm sorry I won't. I won't ask anymore okay?" Hands where held high a passive gesture, he didn't intend to offend.

Slowly he got out of the chair wobbling slightly. "Yeah well.... my dad said the same things so.... that's life." he glanced around at the pods and all the strange tech he couldn't understand. "So where... where is this cave can we umm go there now?"

It was satisfying how easily the other man folded to his intimidation and he couldn't keep the smirk off his face. "Good. You know when to back the ******** off. That at least is a ******** survival trait."

A thought, bouncing up and down in the corner of his mind for some time, finally got his attention and he raised a brow, right, things had been ruined by the phoenix and their assault on the facility. The weapons cove had been one of the casualties of that. It wouldn't be the same place he'd bonded to Tracey.

"Well. The old weapon's cove got kind of wrecked recently. A lot of s**t got kind of wrecked. Including a lot of dorms. Like I said, this place is a shithole. So I'm guessing there's some sort of place where they are keeping the weapon tablets we do have. I'd ask a labtech, might as well make those lazy ******** do something for their wages."

He headed towards the door of the pod room, collaring one of the passing techs with a snarl of "Oi." The other man gave Rep a somewhat comprehending and then disdainful look, yet another person who had heard of the abrasive sun hunter. He rolled his eyes in a "why me?" gesture.

"Here, take this new guy to the ******** weapons cove. Wherever the hell it actually is. You nerds are the ones who know this s**t. I did my duty and woke him up right, and briefed him."

The tech looked as if he was wavering on the edge of telling Rep to go take a long walk off a short pier before deciding it was just easier not to bother. He turned and headed away down the hall, beckoning Ro to follow him.

Rep smirked and pointed. "Away ye go. Once you have your weapon bonded and s**t, come pay me a visit. I live in 113, I'll fill you in on the bastards and s**t to avoid in this wasp's nest right? And I want to know what division you get chucked into too. "

Yeah you can thank my dad for that Though he didn't say it, the thought was clear in his head as he looked down avoiding the other boys gaze. Keep calm and carry on was the saying so why not stick to it.

"Oh. Well, that's not so good at all to hear." He frowned, did he really want to know what caused those issues? Probably not, or at least not best to ask Rep since he seemed to take a strong dislike to questions. He watched the boy go taking a moment to rest against his former home, the now open pod. Off to the side he caught a glimpse of the exchange between Rep and a labtech. It seemed harmless enough but it looked like neither liked the other one.

"Aye. Away I go, hoorah." He offered a little fist pump before moving towards the door, "Room 113, I'll be sure to stop by." He paused before he left turning around to Rep one more time to offer his right hand

His offered handshake got Rep's usual reaction to genuine friendly approaches, which was to simply eye his hand disdainfully before looking back to him and tugging the smirk a little higher.

"Handshakes are kind of ******** homo man." he stated curtly, before turning to saunter off away from the pod room before someone tried to fob off some other duty on him.

"Later!"

His hand fell to his side and an eyebrow quirked ever so slightly at the 'homo' comment. His dad would have disagreed, and also probably called Rep a disrespectful little s**t of a boy who needed an a** kicking and a round of boot camp.

Then again his dad was considered clinically insane right now and probably no where near him where ever here was.

Instead he shrugged, "Thanks Rep," he added as Rep walked away, "For uhhh what ever the whole pod things was." He waved back to the room before turning to follow the labtech.

A thought crossed his mind as he walked, he had mentioned something about killing an old women, that had to be a load of crap right?

The language barrier was not being kind to either of them. Lucky looked equally confused by Dwight's question, slowing the handshake down until something finally seemed to click behind his glasses and he finlet go of the poor guy's hand.

"I forget, sometime, polszczyzna is not easy language for Englishes." And then, apologetically, "Your languages is much difficult for me also. Is not to vorry!"

Szczeosny raised one finger in a universal gesture of 'just a second', and fished around in his pocket for a small book of Polish and English translations, phrases, and other helpful information he clearly hadn't looked at much before. It looked pretty pristine and new, and in fact had been something of a parting gift from his recruiter. Probably more for their sake than his.

He flipped around until he came across the S section, for Szczeosny. "Lucky. Is name, in English. Easier than to call me Szczeosny, am thinking..."

The pole clasped the booklet closed and glanced around again at all the curious glowing contraptions all around them. His curiosity wasn't going to be stifled for long.

"Is okay to ask where we are?"

"Uhhhm..." Dwight's eyes kind of glazed over, "...okay." After a moment he kind of snapped to, and then proceeded to talk to Lucky very, very slowly. "So um...Locky, welcome to Deus Ex Machina, right now you're in the pod area of the labs. You've been asleep for awhile, but your memories should return pretty soon. Why don't we get you out of here, and I'll make you some nice cocoa, and I'll give you a cell phone that has everything you need to know." Carefully the Life hunter ushered the newbie out, like he was a fragile creature made of glass that might walk into walls, and fall down stairs if left on his own.

Harrison was not expecting anything to happen, particularly. Pod duty usually meant long afternoons with a bunch of sleeping guys. It bothered him less than the bunks, maybe because of all the science monitors and beeping lines that meant alive or not so much.

He'd brought a folding chair, a sandwich from the cafeteria, and a stack of gaming magazines to see him through.

He was dreaming, Matt was dreaming of his sister her smiling face wearing a white wedding gown. It seemed weird but he was happy for her, she was marrying whom he considered the luckiest man alive (and he better feel that way for the rest of his life). Yet nagging in the back of his mind was, it wasn't real. None of it was.

The images of masked figures reappeared all sitting in the pews of the church replacing the friendly faces of family and friends. Even his sister was replaced with a woman holding a blade lunging towards his head.

"No no no NOT AGAIN!" He screamed falling forward smacking his nose into the glass before the door opened spilling him onto the ground.

"s**t, s**t that hurts," He replied rubbing the forming knot on his forehead.

It seemed like there was a lot more beeping than usual.

Harrison looked up from his magazine.

He looked at the guy on the floor.

He looked hesitantly towards the exit door.

"...Back from a mission?" He asked, hopefully. They had missiony pods. This could be one of those.

He started coughing as his bangs cling to his face, oh geez he felt as if he was going to cough up a lung as he clutched his chest.

"Where.... *cough* am I?" He replied to the voice that had mentioned something about a mission.

"What mis*cough*sion? Was I *cough cough* on one?" Was that why his head was all muggy? Was the mission his dream? Or that event with the masked groups?
PostPosted: Tue Aug 07, 2012 10:24 pm

Was coughing normal? The voice was ringing a distant bell.

Harrison put down the magazine. "s**t. Uh. You're...on an island? And if you were recently in a thing involving gas masks, you...made...it?" It'd been almost a year ago for him, and Harrison had mostly forgotten exactly what he wanted when he'd stumbled out of the pod.

"You got a name?"

Taking in some deep breaths of air he finally got the coughing to stop or at least long enough for him to sit down on the floor and look at whoever was chatting to him.

"Gas mask... oh yea I was there for that I think. The sort of nightmarish dream thing where we had to kill the other gas mask yea. Where some crazy pink girl decided to kill me. Oh yea... I was on the awesome pink team. The names Matt. You?"

He went to hold his hand out to shake it, but realized that involved him getting to his feet.
