Mac found the beacon Jericho, and was so happy he nearly hugged the boil; he didn't, but the thought crossed his mind. He was convinced that this was the real Jericho for several reasons, one being that Jericho had always had golden eyes, and two because he was actually here. His hallucinations never bothered to have anyone but family appear to him, and while there was a first time for everything he would much rather die with fake happiness than nothing.

He was suitably distracted with the cling-on again, and didn't take much of a listen to what Charlie was babbling about; he was Charlie, and that was that. Lizzy didn't look hurt, anyway. Well, unless you counted 'exhausted' as a form of hurt. Then she looked thoroughly pummeled. The Reaper let himself be dragged to Jericho, and his black eyes followed her dead-weight slump to the ground.

"Uhh, wow." He whistled. "Great not-letting-go skills, there." Stupid Girl. Rolling his eyes, he looked up at Jericho, and then at Charlie. "So, uh, who gets to carry the dead weight?"

He would, if no one else volunteered.

"Not a bad idea Mal. Not sure how we could be going in circles though. The map had a pretty straight forward path," he said to the Plague doctor.

"Be on your guard. She is not to be trusted. Those who come from the fog never are."

As soon as the voice finished speaking, Jericho looked as he saw three figures emerge from the milky blanket that covered them all. Lizzy, Mac, and... Charlie (if he recalled correctly) were all there. Wait, when did the other pink haired demon come to this path?

"See? It's all a lie... look at those yellow eyes.. they mean they can't be trusted..."

"I have yellow eyes you know," he grumbled under his breath while grinning faintly at Lizzy as she approached. Patting her lightly on the back from the hug, he soon stepped back.

"Fool! She will be your end! She will kill you a-"

That was when the spider girl collapsed... asleep.

"Yes. I'm sure she'll kill us all," the dragon mocked the fog before letting out a sigh. In the meantime, he put away his wooden sword so he could pick up the girl. Just as he got her up, something dark and purplish collided right into him, knocking him over. Grunting as he hit the ground, he thought he was under attack and instinctively punched out at whatever had 'rammed' into him.

Malodore eyed the new arrivals warily - Lizzy it knew, sort of. The other two were either mostly or entirely strangers to it. It didn't feel that it could judge if any of them were hallucinations or not, at least...

Well. Best to keep on going until they either found the lighthouse or it collapsed in total exhaustion. It raised its voice, focusing on the Riley-thing. "Pardon me, doppelganger, but how far is it to this lighthouse of yours?" Shot in the dark, but perhaps a creature born from the fog would know its extent? Maybe?

When Lizzy fell over the little pink haired demon went right with her. Charlie was laying right beside the pink haired demon looking quite confused. The bruised eye Lizzy had earlier was now completely gone. Weird. Then when Lizzy started snoozing Charlie felt his eyes also grow heavy and in seconds the little demon was out like a light too.

Nap time.

Riley was doing a bang-up job of forgetting everyone behind her existed. Especially that one particular person who was scraping it's hoof against the gravel, as if it had heard her previous thoughts about not wanting to hear it's hoof steps and said 'haha, I will make it impossible for you to do so'.

Yes, she was doing a great job of ignoring that.

Her fists were balled up tight as she focused on nothing more than taking one step in front of the other, barely noticing when others came out of the fog to group up with them. She looked like a woman on a mission - and that mission was to stop caring so much that her heart was breaking, and make off of this island alive.

"Pardon me, doppelganger.."

Riley stopped dead in her tracks, her eyes widening for just a moment.

Oh. No. It. Didn't.

Riley turned her head, very slowly, and a medieval glare met Malodore's eyes. The rest of her turned as well, and she took a few steps to meet up with it, standing less than an inch from it's face. The tip of it's beak scraped against her face for a moment, and it made her heart sore to think of the last time it had done that.

Listen you.. She growled animalistically. I know you're not in your right mind. Which is why, when we get out of this, I am going to stop being angry. I am. But right now, as long as you still don't believe I am the one person in this world who needs you more than anything, I DON'T WANT TO HEAR YOUR VOICE AGAIN. I CAN'T. YOU'RE BREAKING MY HEART, OKAY? So you just .. just .. LEAVE ME ALONE.

She swiveled away, grumbling something about doppelgangers and plague doctors and idiots.

Well, that answered his question.

Or it would have, had the Dragon not dropped the stupid, sleeping ghoul. Facepalming, Mac went to go 'rescue' Lizzy from the ground...until Charlie fell, too. What the Jack?!

"Dear Jack Below, they're related. They have to be." Mac grumbled to himself, looking between the two and wondering if he could carry them both. As he was closer to Lizzy he continued to pick her up, manuvering so the ghoul was piggybacking him. That just left Charlie.

"Do we have ropes? That'd make this a helluva lot easier." The Reaper was grumbling then, a stream of unhappy complaints (sounding suspiciously like accusations of character and the correlation of hair colour to narcolepsy). "Either that or we could just kick him, and roll him in the right direction." He mused aloud, placing a heavy boot on Charlie's shoulder, and pushing to roll the slumbering fallen angel over.

Malodore blinked as the Riley-thing stalked away, then tilted its head to one side, its eyes narrowing slightly. That.. had definitely seemed threatening. Intensely so. But it was loath to leave the group, now that it had grown larger. In any case, hadn't it been able to down her with its FEAR earlier?

Safety in numbers. But it would keep an eye on her, just in case.

Instead, its gaze swiveled back to - oh. Now they had two pink-haired demons down. How splendid.

"... Mac's... Fine... Arachne... Petro... Candy mountain..." She mumbled softly, arms wrapping around Mac's shoulders and neck as she buried her face into his back, smiling to herself at how warm it was; it was all done sub-consciously, really... After seeing her friends "die" in the fog, knowing that they're actually alive and well was a load off her shoulders. The voices continued to whisper at her even as she slept, but she was too tired to care.

All was well, at least for now.

'You forgot Sepheran, little ghoul, you forgot-.'

"S-Seph... I... Ah... I..." Her voice faded as she stirred; she wanted very much to wake up, but found that she couldn't - she was too tired. Way too tired. Would they notice? Let it be a nightmare please... Let the basilisk be there with them when she finds the energy to open her eye lids and see for herself if she had simply been dreaming of leaving him behind.

Mandy had been carefully retracing her steps back, cursing that she wasn't wearing her boots which would have left nice distinctive marks, when she heard Winnie call out for her to wait up. Only to realize from the call it sounded like Winnie was moving in the wrong direction.

Hadn't she told the ghoul to stay put!?!

See no one listens to you.

LALALA NOT LISTENING.

...Who's the six year old again?

Mandy just mentally poked her tounge out and received an eye roll in return. At least she left again. Jogging in the direction she heard Alwine head off on it was a blissfully silent few moments before the ghost came onto view.

W-Was that two yellow lights floating above her head...? Now come on that was just odd. It wasn't even scary or doubt educing or anything. Kinda comical actually. Giving the lights one last look she focused on the ghoul herself who seemed rather... Out of it.

But not in a bad way at least. Or maybe just not violent. But either way she didn't really have time right now, who knew how long the group would wait?

...actually where was the grow. Jack. They where lo-

Oh hey convenient fire beacon. Not even questioning if it was a trick she took Alwines hand and started leading her towards it.

"Come on, we don't want to be left behind."

Thankfully they weren't and soon they came upon the group, even if their fire guide had gone put it had been a simple thing to follow the direction and she'd even found a useful trail someone had left.

Though she wasn't so sure she should be so happy about catching up when she saw the state of the group, it was rather tense. And not at the fog and the dangers within but at each other.

What had happened when she'd been paying attention to Alwine...?

Focusing harder she noticed that a lot of the tension was between their leader demoness and... Doc? She hadn't noticed them before! She couldn't resist giving a little shout out to them seeing as the others where busy with each other it seemed.

"Hey! Doc!"

At least they didn't have to worry about smaller injuries now, she remembered its proficiency.

As Riley had turned away, she just barely managed to see Jericho being slammed into by Sheridan. As surprising of a sight as that was, it was the fact that four, not two, students were sprawled on the floor. She heard Mac's question as he picked up Lizzy, and looked around.

Two dragons on their asses, Petro up ahead, and the only others left behind to help were.. Malodore (ugh) and.. was that Claire?

Great. Just great. Riley grumbled, taking a few pounding steps towards the dozing boy on the floor - Charlie. CHARLIE. OF COURSE IT WAS CHARLIE. - And slinging him around her back. She held on to his arms, bringing them up in front of her, and heaved herself back to a standing position.

No more excuses. Everyone move forward. She muttered unhappily.

Sharra only knew that he had to get to the lighthouse. He'd long ago been separated from the others, well...he'd no idea, and frankly by this point, the voices had almost convinced him that staying away from the main group had been a wise thing. They'd whispered of betrayal, and it was hard to denote which voices were outside, the sinister enemies, and which ones were coming from inside the nergal's own head. That, and he was starting to see visions once more...this time of his claws dripping with blood, his aunts, desperate and ragged, glaring at him accusingly. He a traitor....they whispered, the last of his bloodline...so disappointing...

...and she'd been such a nice ghoul.

Always and ever did he bring up Yaya, and the guilt in Sharra's heart and mind only kept increasing. He'd run back to her side right now, if only he knew the direction. At least then, they wouldn't be facing their fears alone.

Speaking of which...what was all that yelling? Noting that it sounded vaguely familiar, he went stumbling towards it, claws still gripped tight about his flashlight. If it was friend, well...he'd approach them, cautiously...if it was foe...hnn, better than blundering about aimlessly in all of this.

There was still blood on his claws...Jack...

The dragon...was that...Aksaja? Breaking into a run, the nergal, unable to see where he was going, nearly ran into one of the other's aimless swings into the mists, taking a glancing blow along one arm, Sharra's shirt ripping. Enemies! Mind kicking into full panic mood, he snarled, clawing out at the perceived opponent. "BEGONE!" He snapped, an almost desperation to the word.

His mind was going...going...and he'd be left raving mad, a shaking huddled mess waiting to be picked off by the nefarious reapers. He couldn't let this happen, couldn't let the voices take him!

Malodore turned at the sudden sound, stiffening slightly - but, unlike earlier when a voice calling for a doctor had lured it away into the fog, the person calling out now actually was coming to it. Ah! From the Christmas Town trip, it remembered... now that it saw her, anyway.

... She was probably real. Why would it bother to hallucinate someone it barely knew? It did tilt its head to one side, though. Had her eyes been yellow like that before? Hm. "Hello," it said, politely. It didn't add on good to see you again because... well, really, was it good to see anyone here?

Though what it wouldn't give to see Riley. The plague doctor sighed slightly as its stomach twisted again. It certainly hoped she was okay, wherever she was.... then again, she was so competent and skilled that she was probably already at the lighthouse. Maybe she'd even already found the mysterious signal.

Sigh.

It trudged along behind the doppelganger, still dragging one hoof. Marking their path.

And suddenly there were claws coming at him out of the fog, familiar claws. He knew these, and yet his mind and the affects of the fog twisted them into the claws on a dragon's foot - long, black, curved and already slick with blood.

"NO! GET AWAY!" he countered, swinging that pipe yet again. He was aiming for the elbow joint - or where it would be were this a dragon. On a humanoid, he was more likely to hit somewhere between the elbow and shoulder. But either way, he couldn't let the dragon grab him.

His father would carry him away, into the fog, and kill him . . . and he'd never see the others again. Ah Jack he could see the glowing eyes coming for him . . .

Arachne stiffened, sure she had heard more shouting coming from the fog; Sepheran?.
'Sepheran?!' she yelled, holding her torch up and shining the beam along the ground, and then higher in sweeping passes, trying to see if anyone was nearby. She'd spent too much time alone, she had to find the others - even if it meant stepping back to where the fog was the thickest. She swallowed and walked forwards, calling names as she went.

Sepheran, Elizabeth.' she paused as the voice of her mother started up again, and then shouted again.
'Petro, Mac!'

They're all dead you know. The crystal ball never lies. Those aren't your friends.

'Shut up.' she snapped, a prickle of fear running along her back. What if that was true? No, no, she would have to find their bodies the way she had seen them to believe that. She forged on, shouting their names every so often.

WHY. Why did she have to be so connected to Malodore's mind. Why had she allowed herself to intertwine so definitively with someone, to the point where all it had to do was think of her, and she could hear it. Why couldn't she just.. just..

Why couldn't she just block it all out.

Malodore's thoughts would have been welcome and touching, if it didn't somehow feel like it was thinking of someone else. She was right here, right here - and it acted like she was a stranger. Some foreign body, an unknown that had to be extricated or at least quarantined.

Her hands gripped Charlie's arms tightly, but even filled with that warmth within them, they felt empty.

And so did she.

She barely turned her head when Arachne's voice filled the air, but she managed a weak thought nonetheless. You're getting closer, I can hear you. Keep walking.
