 Nori flinched slightly at Kemuri's words, looking down and away. "I..." To be honest, she did not really know why she had returned -- or how she could express the emotion that brought her back with words -- and by the phrasing of his question, it sounded as if her return was a bad thing. Her hands shook, so she wrapped her arms around her waist and gripped her jacket at her hips. After a moment, she spoke again, her voice little more than a hoarse whisper. "I found my father -- my other family -- but I -- I don't think they want me, either. They were nice to me but then -- then they all left and never came back and I didn't know what to do or where to go because there was no one for me to go to and I just felt so lost and--"Her words caught in her throat as it tightened, a wet heat prickling in her eyes.

What he was about to do was completely out of character. Without any hesitation he reach out, grabbing Noriko by the shoulders and pulling her in against him. "Welcome home Princess of the Rain." he spoke in the same tone he normally used. He had always felt connected to Noriko in some way and during her absence he had feared for her safety. This would probably be the first, last, and only time he expressed his true feelings, but that gave the Sanin a sense of comfort.

At first Nori flinched and cringed when Kemuri reached out and grabbed her shoulders, unsure of what to expect. After all, did someone not claim that those who abandoned Amegakure were considered traitors and put to death? However, instead of hurting her, he pulled her to his chest and welcomed her . . . home. The tension quickly melted from her body and she wrapped her arms around his middle, burying her face in his chest and relishing the feel of security he offered -- despite the acrid scent of smoke that seemed to leech from his pores. "Thank you..."

Nayely came through the clouds and then swooped down to the ground and got her wings to retract back into her body as she approached Kemuri hugging someone, which made Nayely curious and sniffed the air and stopped dead in her tracks. "N-N-Nori?!" She said surprising as the rain suddenly stopped due to Nayely's emotions at the time, but she didn't move any closer.

Nori froze at her mother's voice, bristling further when the rain ceased. Nayley never stopped the rain. What did that mean? Was she that angry? The teenager jerked away from Kemuri as if burned, her heart hammering faster in her chest. The urge to run and hide griped her, but she shoved it down. She could not run forever. If she was to be punished, then she would face that punishment. That was part of the reason she had come back. Better dead than alone.She took a deep breath, straightened, and turned to face Nayley, her expression cautious and fearful yet resolute. "H-Hello, Mother."

Nayely couldn't shake off what Nori did, leaving and causing Nayely inner pain as if her heart was going to break. Nayely looked down and then walked as if brushing Nori off now and then was side to side and she suddenly turned and grabbed Nori and began to hug her tightly, which the rain started to start, but it didn't touch Nori or Nayley, only around them. Nayely had a smile on her face, and a glittery tear that ran down her cheek as she was so happy to see her daughter once more.

When Nayley started to walk toward her, head down and expression unreadable, Nori stilled and paled slightly. Fighting the tremors of fear that shivered down her spine, she remained rooted to the spot, bracing for the worst. She squeezed her eyes shut as the woman neared. This was it. This was the end. Nayley would kill her for what she had done -- for leaving and abandoning her village and home. And then the Amekage was squeezing the life out of her. No. Wait. She was not dying. Nori cracked her eyes open, blinking in surprise. Nayley was hugging her, the rain falling everywhere but on them. She had stumbled at the sudden grab, her hood slipping back from her head, and now something wet dropped to her neck. A tear? Nori turned her head slightly, arms still out as far as they could be to steady herself with her mother hugging her so. Was Nayley crying? For her? For her return? Her hands slowly moved to the Amekage's back, hesitantly returning the hug. Maybe Nayley loved her and wanted her after all. That realization brought a half-choked sob to her throat and she returned her mother's embrace with full force.

The clone began to step away, not wanting to be in the way of the reunion. When it was clear that Nayly would not simply kill Noriko, he felt it was safe to back off.

Nayely released her and then looked at Nori. "Im so happy to see you, ever since that day, my heart has fallen apart." She said to Nori. "And please, i didn't mean what i said back then, it was something not to be taken seriously." She said with a sigh. "So what brings you back here?" She asked.

Nori forced her tears down as her mother stepped back. What was the point of wearing goggles to keep water out if she was just going to put water in herself? She smiled weakly at Nayley, glancing past her to Kemuri. She was grateful for his presence, and the way he seemed to watch the Amekage almost suggested that he had expected a different reaction from her as well and had remained to ensure Nori's safety, hovering nearby like a worried father. At that thought, Nori's smile froze and faded and she dropped her gaze to the muddy ground. She was not certain she wanted to tell her mother everything, so she gave the short and vague version of her earlier ramble to Kemuri. "I had nowhere else to go."

"Oh..." She said in a sadden tone, but now things are different. Nayley grabbed Nori's wrist and pulled her but then she turned her, grabbing her other wrist and placing them behind her back, taking out wire and tied her hands behind her back. "Sorry Nori, i still have to abide by the Runaway policy and i have to restrain you and bring you in...but i will take them off when we are at the house...its just that the guards are watching...so i need to follow the policy." She told Nori.

Nori opened her mouth to say more, but the only sound that came out was a soft gasp of alarm, fear, and pain, when her mother suddenly grabbed her wrists, spun her, twisted her arms back behind her back, and bound her wrists with wire. For a moment, she tried to struggle against it, but a mixture of her mother's explanation and her own resigned acceptance made her stop and relent to the "arrest." Still, panic gripped her chest. Would her mother keep to her word or was this all just a trick to take her down without a fight -- not that she could put up much of a struggle, anyway.

Through the flickering light of the lightning in the rain another shinobi could be seen approaching the gates early that morning; before the sun even peeked over the horizon. It was Hiro coming from the fortress in the mountains as he signed in with the gate security. As he walked by there seemed to be a minor dispute involving a young girl, but since her appearance was far more mature than Hiro remembered he couldnt recognized that it was Noriko from a quick glance. After signing in Hiro made his way to the academy.

Nayely wasn't happy that she had to do it to her own daughter, but rules were rules when it came to that kind of policy, but it was her word that is law about what happens to the captured runaways. "I feel bad doing it to you Nori but those are the rules, so lets go home so that i can take the wires off and to right you in the Missing Nin report and have you pardoned." She said as she tugged on Nori's arm to make it seem forceful to the guards yet it really wasn't to Nori, just a way to fool the guards.

Nori nodded wordlessly, though a part of her still doubted the truth of her mother's statement. Still, it would not hurt to play along, and though the tug to her arm was not exactly painful, she gasped, whimpered, and stumbled, doing her best to look the part of a captured traitor -- which, in a way, she was.
