Dawn looked down at her hands. she started twine them together into an intricate knot as the man spoke. she looked up at him. "you are the first person to ever say that stuff to me."

Ivan looked at her hand grabbed her hands in a gentle embrace. "Well then you didn't have any good friends. Let your hair free and maybe a mini skirt and boys would be drooling all over you." The teenage boy told her. His eyes turned to a flower and the field full of them. He picked a white one and then put it in her hair. Tucking it behind her ear. "There one step closer."

As the man spoke, Dawn looked around at the field. enjoying each and every flower. she felt a flower being placed in her hair and turned to look at him. "thank you.. your the only person who has been kind to me."

Ivan smiled and released her hands as he sat back and laid down on the blanket He used his arms as a pillow. "My sister would have a cow if she found out I wasn't a gentleman. I'm sure you'll find more people like me." He responded. The grass was soft and there wasn't a rock under him so he was able to relax.

As Dawn watched the man relax, the sight took her back to when she was a child, watching her father sit in the excat same position. she missed her father deeply, knowing that she would never see him again.

Ivan's stomach was wide and like a big pillow. He slowly moved up and down as he breathed in and out. He had a light grin on his face. His knees bent in a casual manner. It was a good thing he was a guy. It looked more natural for him to do it over a girl.

Dawn smiled as she saw how relaxed the man was. She chuckled at the thought of how her father used to lay like that.

Ivan looked up at Dawn. He's face suggested that he was a bit worried. "Hey Dawn, are you okay? You seem a little quiet." The teenager said with a concerned voice. He was the type who would worry about the little stuff.

Dawn smiled at the man when he asked what was wrong. "oh im fine." she looked up as the sun set, causeing the sky to turn a beautiful orang-pink color.

Ivan watched the sunset with Dawn. "Not as great as the ones at home, but I think it'll work. My family mansion looks out to the sea so in in the morning we were watch the sun come over the mountains and in the evening watch it disappear into the sea." He commented reliving his days as a child.

Dawn smiled. "my family always took care of our garden in our yard. it was always full of fruits, vegatables, etc. it was always fun, untill they came." she closed her eyes as if trying to shut out the memory.

Ivan grabbed her hand and squeezed a little. "We all have a dark past. Some more than others. I rather not talk about them. I rather live in the here and now because you can't change what has happen only smile at the future."

Dawn sighed. "not if the future contains them." she raised the back of her shirt a bit to show a branding mark on her lower back. "they branded me so when i returned home they would find me again."

Ivan pulled the shirt down. He was not going to see a girls body in public like that. "Then never return home." He told her. He didn't have much of a choice. He was duty bound to go home, but she wasn't.
