I'm back from Calgary. The wedding was pretty good, my cousin seems very happy which is good to see.
I'm just glad to be back home. . . travelling with my father is not the most enjoyable thing in the world. sweatdrop

i went to my little sister's engagement party on Saturday, they've set a date for 5 years time! i don't think they'll wait that long though.

I got into my first accident yesterday. Just a fender-bender, my neck hurts a bit but we're both ok. His car has more dammage then mine, it's wierd as they're both small, older cars. My hood won't open now though, I hope it's wiring that came loose, I just spent $350 on my car to get new brakes in the back and now I think I'll go back to the guy and ask him to look at the wiring for my hood and perhaps if he can tighten the brakes. I wasn't going that fast and as soon as I realized he was crossing my lane I tried to stop, but I only managed to slow down more... I have to call ICBC (the insurance company) today as I was too upset yesterday, but I don't know if they'll fault him because he was turning left, or me for going through when the light was yellow.
I feel so angry with myself. I was stressed out and focused on other things and I went "What the hell" I would have made it through, the light had only just turned yellow, but I fight with myself to remember just how long it had been yellow and how far back I was, and wether or not I could have stopped. I've only been driving for five months, it's stupid really, I keep my hands on ten and two, do the speed limit, keep gas in my tank, shoulder check always, signal always, I did everything I was supposed to except focus solely on driving while in the car. I want a day planner so I can help myself keep track of things easier, instead of always being panicked that I'm forgetting something and constantly going over everything I need to do in my head.

*hugs* Gem I'm so sorry, for that happening to you.
It's a given that we all have an accident at least once in our driving expierince.
On a yellow light, I'm not sure who will get the ticket.
I'm surprised that the police didn't tell you when they came.
I sure hope everything will work out for you.

When called the police just asked if the cars were driveable and if everyone was ok. When I said yes to both they said just call ICBC and let them handle it. It WAS very minor, but no police came. I did call ICBC and they're saying it's looking like a 50/50 fault case. This won't be so bad...

I've only been in one at-fault, and I'd been driving for YEARS. It was a bad day anyway, and I hit a PARKED car WHILE parking. redface
Oh! I GOT THE JOB!!!! I'm a teacher now! I start Monday.

jellysundae, i am totally digging your avatar! i donated last month, and considered keeping the items, but the whole reason i donated at all was to get this outfit, and i decided to make up my mind once and for all.
anyway, i'm glad you're okay, too, gemstone! since i've never had my license, i've never really had a chance to get in any accidents. legally, it's probably his fault, because if you're light wasn't red yet, his light probably wasn't green yet. hope all goes well for you!
