"Is that all?" Scarlet chuckled. "That desire will be easily achieved. So you might want to start thinking about what your next pursuit in un-death will be. For me, my greatest desire at the moment is to make all my friends happy, and then I'm looking forward to a scalding hot mineral bath."
She pulled out more bottles of alcohol and passed them around to the other guests.
"Do you care for your playthings to be sauced dear?" she asked Val as she indicated Mouse with a small bottle of whiskey.

Scarlet's question snapped him out of his thoughts, and he put aside his curiosity and anxiety for now. h looked at the bottle momentarily, then to mouse -- who's gaze went from the drink to her new Master -- and muttered "I wonder..."
he smirked and looked at mouse. "it might be good for her. take it, pet. some folks actually tend to forget troubling things when they drink."

"Drink up, darling," Scarlet said as shepassed the bottle to Mouse, who took it timidly. "Things don't hurt quite as much when you have a little of this in your blood. Of course, a little of this in your blood improves the flavor as well." With a conspiratorial wink, she watched the poor creature shakily bring the bottle to her lips and take a sip.

"Ooh! Vodka!" Dmitri was pleased with the alcohol Scarlet handed him. "You are the most stereotypical man I know." Alfons said, distracted from his conversation with Val. Scarlet had passed him a scotch. "Thanks for the alcohol, I was getting thirsty there for a second."
"Yes let's get the Mouse drunk." Ciro sneered.

Val gladly had a drink of the wine from earlier, his favourite of all beverages. he then began to kiss mouse's neck, holding her close to him and grunting. he was smiling darkly, his fangs flashing, and he played with her hair as before.
"I hope the flight doesn't end too quickly. I'm having far too much fun!"
((OOC: is there much of story to be had during the flight, or shall we skip ahead in a bit?))

((this was just a bit of fun--I wanted to see if psuedo-boredom would spark anything interesting. But we can skip ahead if you want.))
"Oh, we're just crossing the Iron Curtain now, my dearest," Scarlet assured her friend as she readjusted herself on her bodyguard's lap and wrapped one arm behind his neck. "We have hours yet before we land on my Japanese estate. We should be flying into the sunrise right about now."

((I'm suddenly tempted to put in a random attack, possibly by sky-pirates, or maybe some kind of later-recurring villain, though if I just do it all of a sudden it won't be very thought out. though that kind o open-ended encounter could have plenty of possibilities we could collabo... =w= ))
as Val cuddled his pet, who was finally starting to loosen up now that she had gotten used to his fondling, there was a sudden rumble in the carriage, and he heard the Dragons roar.
he held mouse protectively, and then looked out the window. "what in hell is--? oh GODS!" he blurted out and ducked back inside, eyes wide.
"missiles and battle spells! what in hell? do something!"

"Xue take them to the tenth court of hell, who would DARE attack ME?" Scarlet demanded, her short platnium hair looking like white flame as she leaped to the heavily tinted porthole window.
Outside, the sky was golden with dawn, but the sun had not yet peaked over the horizon. She craned her neck to get a decent angle to look at the two heavily modified small airplanes were harassing her dragons. The dragons were breathing fire and swiping at the planes with their claws, but they might have been tigers snapping at gnats for how effective they were. Although she couldn't see it, she could hear the rotary beats of a large chopper--probably decommissioned military--hovering right over their protective coach.
"With the dawn coming, they'll fry half of us before we can even hear their demands--I'll have them sucking on their own balls for this outrage!" She reached over to one of the locked cupboards and with a feral growl of anger dug five claws into the wood around the lock and ripped it loose. The door swung open to reveal a small cashe of very powerful weapons.

At the sound of the first explosion Dmitri grabbed his bag. He started pulling out pieces of a rifle, assembling them as quickly as possible. Alfons rushed to look out the window. "Damn! I should have brought a RPG!! Dmitri, did you--" He stopped after turning to Dmitri, seeing a completed Barrett M82 anti-materiel rifle. "Wunderbar!" Alfons turned to Scarlet as she opened the cabinet. "Those are the big guns, ja?" Dmitri looked out a window. "Does zis zing open? I do not vish to break glass wis gun."
"Oh, someone's gonna get hurt for this! Now who shall I kill first? Give me a target."

Val was not about to cower in a besieged basket, but he knew he wouldn't last long in the sun. he grabbed mouse and bit into her wrist, draining several giant gulps from her before pulling an AK-47 out of the cache and stuck his head and arms out the window.
lining up his shot quickly, he let loose a barrage at the magi. he met with difficulty a sthey blasted at his bullets and put up shield spells, but he manage to catch one off-guard enough to fill his chest-cavity with lead.
"those cannons are gonna be a b***h!" he roared over the gunfire. he could feel his arms, face and scalp burning, and if one looked carefully they could see the thin smoke trickling from his pores.

Scarlet tossed large weapons to everyone, and added a roll of bandages to Mouse. "These are specially modified--they work as normal rifles and you can piggy-back any spells you can think of on the rounds. And it's not the cannons on those carrion-munchers I'm worried about--it's that thing that's over us. They'll either tip us out and let us fall or they'll swing us around and fry us in the dawn--either way, only half of us will survive. VAL!"
She sprinted within the small confines of the capsule and tackled the vampire elf as his skin began to smoke.
"You should know better than that, you useless excuse for a corpse!" she screamed in his face while pinning him to the floor. "Let the humans brave the light. You could do worse than coaxing a storm in our direction, so we don't turn to ash in the next 10 minutes--but don't you ever scare me like that again!"
Scarlet knew she sounded hysterical and pissed--and she was! Anyone who had the kind of technology and magic these air-pirates had would know better than to mess with her--unless she and her guests were their goal, and their employer was someone scarier than she. She could only think of four possible candidates in the eastern hemisphere, and all four liked her. Something was dreadfully wrong here, and she was not about to loose Val or Ciro to the dawn, or any of the humans to a fatal fall. (Devonte's lecture for allowing this sort of ambush would alone be painful enough.)
"Why didn't I order an escort?" she moaned to herself as she got up off of Val.

he growled stubbornly, but knew she was right. he hated being helpless, and hated letting his friends and companions fight for him even more. reluctantly, he let go of his weapon.
he didn't say a word, but sat on the floor crosslegged when Scarlet got off of him. he braced himself against the benches with his hands, trying to pretend he didn't feel the sting of his injuries. they'd heal later when he had his coffin again.
if they all survived this fight, he'd have a hell of a time working on that portal through his pain. his flesh felt like molten wax-paper on his sinews.

"Come on, Val, you're the spell-specialist," Scarlet reminded him, trying hard to control the desperation in her voice. "Isn't there anything you can do? I'm afraid I'm not much good at controlling the few spells I've mastered, and I'm as likely to kill half of us as these stupid pirate's are."
She clenched her fists, running through scenario after scenario in her mind, trying to think of a way out. It was difficult, since she didn't know who these pirates were or who they worked for. The only thing she could think of to level the playing field was to literally descend onto more level terrain. That took at least one dimension of movement out of the pirate's favor, and if they landed near some caves or something, she, Val and Ciro would be safe from the sun.
Scrambling over the violently rocking floor, she found the emergency dragon flute at the back of the weapons locker. Drawing in as much breath as her little-used lungs could hold, she played a descending scale that the dragon's would interpret as a command to land. Hopefully they could make it to the ground in one piece.
