Miquote heard Kaori's voice and looked at the doorway. " She's here? To see me?" Miquote blushed a little and hid his face under the covers. "I-I'm in this room Kaori.." He tried calling out his voice sounding a little distant.

Kaori heard Miquote's voice and pushed open the door where it was coming from.
'Everything okay?' she said in a bit of a panic as she looked him over.

Miquote nodded. "I-I'll be fine....I think at least." He replied and blushed. " At least I think I'm dying." He thought to himself.

Kaori walked over to his bed and put a hand on his chest.
'Everything will be okay, I promise.'
She smiled.

Miquote looked at her. "I keep thinking I'm going to die....and I keep thinking of that person that I like....and how I won't be able to tell her how I feel...." Miquote teared up a bit.

Kaori tapped her chin.
'I could go find her for you so you could tell her. And I... don't think you'll die.'

Miquote blushed, keeping his eyes closed. "I apologize, but the person I like is you Kaori. But, I know you love someone else and you can not return the feelings I feel for you." Miquote sighed. "But, that's okay because I can learn to move on....." Miquote sighed again and turned his head to look out the window.

Kaori held her breath.
She looked around, trying to let no signs of emotion betray her.
She couldn't keep it in for long though, and she began to quietly let tears flow down her cheeks as she thought of her situation.
Kaori turned her back to Miquote so he couldn't see her.

Miquote opened his eyes. "Don't be sad...It doesn't matter if you don't like me...or if you don't want to be friends anymore because I do. I shouldn't have really said that.....not now anyway...I should've waited...but I felt so weak..I keep thinking I'm going to die..." Miquote whispered and closed his eyes again.

Kaori sighed, back still facing Miquote.
'No... that's not it at all. Though you're a good friend of mine, I have no intention to speak my mind on the subject of what is troubling me. Just know... this to me does not change a thing. What troubles me is something personal and should be of no burden to you. I may not feel the same way... but that shouldn't stop you from exposing your feelings. I'm not shunning you or disowning you as a friend... in fact, besides Crazed, you've been more of a friend to me than anyone at this University. My cousin doesn't count.'
She inhaled and faced him again.
'Nothing will change,' she promised, 'and the ones who die are the ones who let it happen.'

Miquote looked at her and smiled weakly. "Then I won't let myself die. For you, because I wouldn't want you feel upset for my cause. That I'm more than a friend to you...that would be upsetting...but those who are gone...they are not forgotten....I'll fight this..." He closed his eyes once more. "I'm feeling tired.....I think I'll take a nap...until the nurse comes in with dinner...hmm...are you going to stay?...I wouldn't want to fall asleep on you Kaori..." He asked yawning a bit.

"Some one just wanted to pick a fight with me. You could say he was jealous that I hang around a beautiful girl, like you. I got rid of him, but he poisoned me....shot poison into my blood stream, I fell terribly ill. That's why I'm ill. Hmm....I didn't know who it was....but you shouldn't worry, because I doubt you knew who the person was either." Miquote chuckled a bit, his voice, once again sounding distant. He pulled the covers up, then tried to cover himself up, but his feet kept sticking out. "Stupid blanket." He mumbled.
