Kelissa and the others hurried over to join Gaertim and crew once they had emerged from the other side of the hole. The elder Akumoni glanced around, and felt relief at seeing there was nobody waiting for them. 'Good. We can take a brief pause,' she said. 'How is everybody holding up?'

I'm peachy. ... Just so bloody peachy. *She sat to the side and wiped up the blood* Knocking the tower over still flat out of the question? I sort of liked that idea. Doing well here though, just some scrapes. I... where am I again? It's cold. We are well, though we will need to return MK to you shortly.

'No pun intended, I presume,' Kelissa quipped, looking at Leucosia's red stained clothing. 'Although I was actually asking about everyone's physical well being, after fighting.' 'Don't worry Leu, I'm sure you'll get your own back later.' 'Wait, did I miss something? Who said anything about knocking it over?' Asphyxia asked, and looked from Gaertim to Sephira. 'We're in the Citadel now.'

*Origin faded and left MK there as a spirit*Sinking the tower into the ground, perhaps... I'm feeling tingly. I should make a few kills soon. ~KMK

'There's bound to be plenty of Guardians waiting for you to kill,' Jervaid commented.

If everyone is ready, we should move forward. We will stand a much better chance if we can block them off at the stairwells and force them into tight quarters.

'Agreed. We should split up into two groups to block off the staircases that are not already either blocked or no longer in use.'

I'll take Gaertim, Leucosia, and Sephira up the south stairwell. Everyone else should head to the north. ~KMK

*MK and Gaertim hurried up the southern stair, with Leucosia and Sephira in tow. No sooner than they left sight there was the sound of swords striking one another*

Holding the rapier, Paris was the first to head towards the northern stairwell. He saw a Guardian nearby, and cloned himself. They both rushed forwards, ready to strike. Sensing movement behind him, the Guardian leapt up, and went head over heels above Paris and his clone. He landed behind them, lunging with his halberd. He locked eyes with Paris, and a clone of his own split off. Gallaine stopped when she caught them up, and saw the two identical Guardians. She extended a hand towards them both, flames bursting forwards. In the confusion of the battle, the Guardian's appearance began to change. Everything about him altered, until he had become another perfect replica of Paris.

*There were only 3 guards on this light level; MK engaged in battle with the first, Gaertim fistfighting the second, and Sephira and Leucosia ganging up on the third. MK found himself parrying more than being himself on the assault, though Gaertim was having more luck in dispatching his opponent. The guardian Leucosia was standing before seemed an odd fellow, wearing robes and making not a sound. Instead he seemed to wave his arms about wildy as if to distract her...*

' s**t!' Jervaid gasped. 'Who's the real Paris?!' 'I am!' both Paris and the disguised Guardian replied. They both gave each other identical looks of disgust. Kelissa found herself dodging left and right, as the halberd of the cloned Guardian kept swinging dangerously close to her bare arms. She ducked down and kicked up high, catching him in the face. The clone staggered back, temporarily dazed from the force of the blow. Evza decided to take advantage, and grabbed at one of the Guardian's horns. With the assistance of one of Paris' clones, they both threw the Guardian clone heavily down onto the floor.

*MK repelled his assailant with a mightly boot to the chest, then coming down on his opponent with his blade right through the through and decapitating the guardian.* *Gaertim went blow for blow, finally grabbing on by the hip and shoulder and tossing the guy into a pillar, the spine snapping against it with a loud and sickening crunch, then watching him slump down immobile.* *Sephira struck outward at the strange man in robes, only to find herself faceplant into a sort of invisible wall with a resounding thud. The girl fell to her bottom and stared oddly* *The man was still facing Leucosia, not paying any heed to Sephira, and he reached out to her as if in distress. Leucosia reached back with a foot to his face, knocking the man down. He was sobbing, and laughing all at once...*

'I'm so confused.' 'This is stupid. Can you just kill him please?' One Paris pointed to the other. 'He's the fake, I'm real!' 'Don't listen to him, he's lying! He's the fake!' The Guardian clone rushed to his feet, stabbing with the halberd and gutting the clone of Paris. He charged forwards, stabbing the blade through Jervaid's chest. A small utterance escaped his throat, a tiny gasp following it. '... Damn...' Blood poured from the wound and his jaw hung open. More blood had worked its way up into his mouth, tricking down his chin. His eyes had widened, bulging in pain, and he sank to his knees. 'Jervaid!' Kelissa yelled, running over to him. 'Gallaine, get over here, now! He needs healing!'
