"I'm okay," Jinx said, "What is going on here?" she looked around and saw a pile of dead wormy things and some live ones. She shivered at the sight.

As another Bleck and tried to flatten him, he swung his hammer back and waited for it to get closer "FORE!". He swung at the Bleck with tremendous force, hoping to knock it aside with a diagonal uppercutting swing of his hammer.
"We're under attack by giant Worm-Blecks." Bryce said, looking around himself.
Gorum leapt off of his chicken, which had leapt into the air beforehand, and landed on the worm-Bleck's head. "ZUUL." yelled Gorum, before trying to plant his axe into the worm's skull.

With that one dealt with, the only worm-blecks still living were further into the city than LaCroix's currently position. However, since he was still pretty close the city's edge, he might by chance see the humanoid bleck who had apparently summoned the others just alighting on a remaining portion of the ruined outer wall, having levitated up there in the time that his worm minions had been rampaging.
As Bryce and Jinx looked around, water suddenly burst out from one of the streets, followed by Throngar walking purposefully along. "Oh, there you are, Master Champion," he grunted as he saw Bryce. "These the blecks you were talking about, then? Weird how they're able to come out in the light..."
Alcharius suddenly piped up from Jinx's head. "That would be because they're not like ordinary blecks. I recognise these things. They're just minions, created by more powerful blecks." He hesitated, then added, "Though, that would only make them fine in the sunlight if their master was too..."
Elsewhere, Gourm's bleck gave a tremendous roar of pain. The blow as probably fatal, but the creature didn't completely die just yet. Rather, it tried to toss its assaulter up into the air, then leaped up itself in a mad, thrashing motion and again tried to swallow him.

As Gorum was sent flying into the air, he regained hs balance and as he fell towards the Bleck's mouth he raised his axe above his head and would try to cleave straight through the Bleck's top jaw and through the top of it's skull as he descended towards it, using his own strength and the momentum from the fall to make the blow that much more powerful.
Bryce thought to himself. "Hm. Would that mean their master would have to be nearby?"
LaCroix saw the humanoid Bleck "Hmm... that must be the one in charge..." he raised his hammer above his head and ran towards the Bleck, as he got closer he leapt into the air and yelled "Evil, meet hammer! HAMMER, MEET EVILLL!!!"

The bleck's head was cloven in two and with a loud yowl it toppled backwards onto the ground, spewing acid from its mouth as it finally died. [Gorum]
"Correct and correct," Alcharius answered the pair of them. "I expect he'll be in whichever direction his minions first started coming from."
"This way, then!" Throngar declared decidedly, setting off at a jog towards the part of the wall mostly demolished by the blecks.
The humanoid bleck just looked upon LaCroix disdainfully as he approached. He waited until the Champion was at point-blank range, then raised a skeletal hand and said, "Fool. Die." A jet of black energy zipped from his outstretched index finger such that it would hit LaCroix full across the chest. If it hit successfully, it would sap LaCroix's strength tremendously - enough to kill him, even, if his will wasn't strong enough.

Bryce followed Throngar, running at a much more urgent pace than the dwarf.

LaCroix's face widened with shock as the black bolt hit him sqaure in the chest, he nearly cursed loudly but the pain had knocked the breath out of him. He flew back and hit the floor with a loud thump and rolled backwards several more groaning, his usual bald head covered in dirt and a few scrapes.

The bleck glanced down at the fallen warrior, gave a snort and turned his attention elsewhere. He surveyed the bodies of his fallen minions. "It is enough," he spoke to no one in particular, then stretched out his hands into the air in front of him. "Mortuorum animi, audite vocem meam! Orirete, atque oblitterate solem obscura c** multitudine vestra!" As he spoke these words, the jewel in the centre of his amulet pulsed with a malevolent energy... and below, from the corpses of many of the blecks rose dark wraiths, once living people, now nothing more than spiritual ammunition. They rose up, higher and higher, more and more of them, until they were literally blotting out all light over Yoru.
Throngar saw this and skidded to a halt. "The sky!" he bellowed. "They're blotting out the light so they can bring out more blecks!"
"That's my line!" Alcharius retorted in annoyance.
Meanwhile, from a forest just outside the city walls, dark shapes began emerging en masse as the light faded...

"s**t!" exclaimed Bryce, speeding up to a sprint towards where he saw a strange glowing from the amulet around the neck of the lead Bleck, though he didnt know the glow was coming from this.

As Bryce and the others rounded the corner and came into sight of the Bleck general, he spotted them and frowned. "Begone," he told them. "You're not worthy of being in my Goddess' sight." He raised his hand and blasted black lightning at them. This attack was similar to the one he'd used on LaCroix, but its effect was more widespread - it could hit a wider array of targets, but its power was, naturally, rather diminished.
Throngar, rounding the corner and confronted with this sight, gave a bit of a curse and went into a roll, narrowly avoiding the lightning. He then looked up and gave the Bleck a more detailed look. "That amulet!" he shouted to his companions. "That must be what's allowing him to cast magic like this!"

Bryce thought that he could block some of the magic by using his shield, it absorbed some of the effect but most of the spell passed onto him, and he was sent hurtling to the ground. Fortunately the spell was weakened by it's widened range and being blocked by the shield and Bryce managed to stand up with some effort.

Jinx, however, was knocked back a few feet. Surprised? She always had the worst luck in battles, especially ones that involved the opponent using magic, thats why people call her Jinx. She landed on her back, where she had been injured before, it still wasn't fully healed, it made the landing hurt more than it should have.
