Harata nodded. "Fair enough. Is there anything I could possibly do to convince you. Anything accept giving up my faith, that is." She gripped her hands together tightly, trying to restrain herself, and to not punch him.
"I tried to apologize many times previously, but you were too ocuppied otherwise, and did not hear. My tune has changed none since I have arrived on this island. You have finally had the time to listen to my words, is all." She said this in her most sincere tone, and meant it with all her heart. She hoped it had not sounded disrespectful. "Hey Eve. I guess I'm chopped liver, huh?"

Be good... Seeing the Overseer and Evelyn holding each other on the floor, she felt the anger which had sprung so shockingly from nowhere recede back into numbness as if someone had come in and flicked the lights off.
And so, she smiled her customary smile.
"You're perfectly right, of course," she replied pleasantly "A hug is the greatest sign of respect one can give. I hope you can excuse my haste to chastise. The Overseer has been with us such a short time yet, and I am merely concerned for his safety."
She wandered forward a few steps, regarding some part of the wall in a dreamy fashion, almost speaking to herself. "Do you think the Captain heard the bell? We shall need him to organise a squad of bodyguards to protect the Benevolent One."

(( He's standing! I suppose I should have added it was one of those awkward one-armed hugs. I hit submit too soon there at the end, thinking you were leaving soon, Lorika.

Lorika (( I'm the only one who hasnt gotten to hug the Overseer yet T____T but... I guess I DID get to touch him inappropriately and massage his feet momentarily, so... )) ((I haven't hugged him. I have been in his arms, bleeding all over him, but was unconsious or a grouch for most of that time.)))

Evelyn saw how hopeless Harata looked and her heart seized. "Overseer," she said, looking up at him, her eyes pleading, "I swear to you that Harata is no threat to anyone of B.O.O. She's good, really. Please forgive her, Benevolent One."
As for Lorika, when she heard her speaking, she could tell something was different in her voice, although she figured it was just because of the Overseer's return.

(( I'm sure Pseudoverseer is getting around to responding to you XD It's hard being such a popular character! HE'S NOT EVEN REAL and everyone loves him~ Wow, Real Overseer will be so unpopular by comparison. Probably because it looks like he's going to be played by me after all emo ))

(( What I find most humorous is he keeps getting filthy and all these people want to jump him. Blood caked, slimy, sandy Pseudoverseer. )) He did not miss much that was going on around him. Most of it befuddled him, such as Lorika's reactions to curiously simple things, but those like Evelyn and Harata were becoming easier for him to read and understand. It was clear there was a long past that the high priestess had with the Overseer, but if only he knew about it, the opportunities to address them were lost. "Harata, you would do well in aspiring to train your body to agree with your mouth. And perhaps when we do find the time, I would like to hear again about your faith." Then taking a few side ways steps, he hoped it was a clear enough signal to Evelyn that it was either time to let go or start walking with him. He did not like standing in the hallways, and wished to make it back to the first floor. There was then something that Lorika said he couldn't ignore, "Bodyguards? You said yourself that SIN is scattered. Do you think us in danger? And ... first I would like to see to any needs those in the Order have."

Be good...The High Priestess did not turn around, but continued her slow walk ahead.
"What, you don't think protection from all your adoring devotees is a good enough reason? Besides, maybe it might give those slackers that guard the Armory something useful to do."
Another biting comment. She didn't quite know why by this point. Numbness gave way to sadness, that she was probably making a terrible impression as some sort of flighty, catty female on what was basically a blank slate of an Overseer. He hadn't seen her on a normal day. He hadn't seen how hard she works, and her eye of the tornado, carefully built shroud of holy cool. Somehow all that she had worked for had disintegrated in an hour. She began feeling numb again, and what she said stopped mattering. Perhaps she would say nothing else at all. Who knows?

Evelyn frowned slightly when the Overseer moved. Didn't he remember? They always hugged. *Maybe being gone so long made him dislike people...or me.* Either way, Evelyn moved along with the Overseer, not wanting to let him out of her sight. She remembered the depression that ensued when he left, and refused to let that happen to these people--her friends--again.
