Trista clenched her arms to her sides hoping beyond hope that the little dragon would find his bonded no matter who it might be. There was enough sadness at the hatching tonight they really didn't need to cap the evening by having this little one go between. "Oh please let this little one impress." She whispered fervently.

Who? Who was his looking for? Someone, anyone?

Panata covered his ears with his hands as he looked at the wailing dragon, and without even thinking he slowly pulled himself to his feet. He probably, no, certainly wasn't the one this dragon was looking for, but that didn't mean he couldn't comfort him until he found his and no longer felt alone.

Slowy, painfully, he made his way over, sure that already others were on their way too. He did his best to send soothing thoughts, finally taking an action, his words shakey even in his head.

It's alright, I am coming for you. I'll stay with you, even if it's only until you find whomever it is you're looking for. I will be there, I am coming.

Amoreth was nothing short of startled. The panic that settled into her heart as soon as the egg hatched made her take a few inadvertent steps forward. What horrid sounds he made, his upset wailing! His words pierced through her mind as it did many others, sending a chill down her spine.
"We're here, little one, calm down!" she thought in attempt to quell the blue's panicked state.

The thought seeded itself in her mind: What if His was not here? She bit her lip. That wouldn't happen, would it? No, there were far too many to choose from still.. If he would calm down enough to see them. Even as she thought, a boy took the first steps forward toward him. Yes, she thought, comfort him. Impress him.

Arolon pushed through to the front of the crowd, hearing the screams. The blue was screaming, sending his whole body on high alert. He didn't want it to die, he would rather die in it's place dragons were so special to him. His eyes were wide and sad, body trembling with pain and the urge to go help the blue. Don't between! He cradled his arm in pain, like this little one. Where was his? Was he his? Someone find his quickly! Please! It crushed his pride and his heart to hear the little one screaming. It made him feel like a helpless pile of dung not worthy and unable to do anything for anyone when dragonets like this were born and he couldn't help them.

Darcth knew fear, even though he'd yet to go near anything high he already instinctively was terrified of the prospect. So he could sympathise well with the blue back on the sands. He paused in his eating and his eyes whirled as yellow as the new blues for a moment before M'hal steadied him. The blond boy meanwhile couldn't believe the noise and was rather worried - just who was that?! Who was he looking for?!

*

The black haired kitchen girl was one of those who started forward trying to offer condolences to the screaming blue. She'd have clapped her hands over her ears except the screaming was in her head too. It was deafening.

Please don't go Between! Such a dragon, come on...pick one of us. Please. Find whoever you're looking for darling, youhave your pick, everyone's watching you and waiting.

Yelping in surprise at how the dragonet hatched she watched as it screamed and screeched paying no attention to thouse around it. As its screaming increased she clapped her hands over her ears and winced mentaly willing the dragonet to find His and impress so that it would be happy and stop the increasing screams.

Where are you? Where are you?

The blue's cries for his partner were painful, and Sellae felt her eyes fill with tears. Both because she physically hurt from the dragon's cries for his bonded, but because she ached from the strain of the day, and all she wanted to do was curl up and cry and this poor one didn't know where His was.

But mostly because she knew those words to her core. Where are you? she remembered screaming. Mommy! This dragonet was screaming for someone just as important.

She saw the wounded boy, the one Aiyisha had helped, move slowly across the sands towards the blue, and let her tears fall. Good luck.

Redfith cooed and sent encouraging feelings towards the blue. Was his here? Surely it was, everyone else had found their's on the Sands, wouldn't he.

It is okay brother, it will be okay, look around..maybe they're here, her eyes swirled a quick yellow. Zia clenched her fists beside the green and watched the distraught blue.

It was about time the Gold dragon Impressed. Uuni was thankful she'd been picking on the candidates, because simply thinking about all that bowing had made her neck sore.

Makereth was eyeing her, and even let out a small coo as she came to where the food was. It was good to be friendly, so when he got her good later, she'd be sure to know his name to spread it all around! And she would, because the Queen was going to get the biggest, best, most awesome prank dumped on her that High Reaches ever knew, and she should feel a bit honored. But mostly, he just wanted her to laugh.

Laughing was certainly on on the blue's agenda.

So much for the gold. Her spotlight was ripped out of the air as sure as that blue's claws would rip into someone's flesh.

Makareth hopped to his feet, his eyes whirling yellow as he circled around Uuni. Angry and sad and angry and all of this upset was, well, upsetting! And Makereth wasn't sure what to do, and something needed to be done! This was not okay!

And Uuni heard it to, much to her discomfort. It churned her gut and made her want to leave, but how would that look? She didn't really care, and if it weren't for the fact that Makereth was so insistent on staying, she would have taken off in a heartbeat. It was like a flashback moment, and she had no intention of seeing another go between.

Roheth! Makereth cried out to the bronze in an upset anguish over his clutchmate's state. Make him be happy! I don't like it when he cries! Help him!

Regedth looked up suddenly at the piercing cry of her sibling. We're here! We're here. Yours is here too! The cries depressed her because she couldn't conceive of not finding R'ysan on the sands.

R'ysan feeling her distress sought to comfort her and placed his hand gently upon her shoulder. It will be ok. He's going to make it. There's got to be someone in this bowl that can match up. He's just got to not give up.

-------

A'ras heard the dragonet's wail and stared down at the bowl gritting his teeth. "Shards, someone...take someone...any candidate would be fine. Just please don't leave." He clenched his fists wishing he could do something more for the small dragonet but all he could do was watch.

Havocath curled his tail around his rider because upon the ledge he knew that his rider sometimes let his daring thoughts take over and he didn't want him to fall off. Someone will help him. I am confident. He expressed to A'ras warmly. He didn't want to see the little one go between. Someone had to step up and help.

Another heart-wrenching scream sounded. The blue anxiously stomped all four feet on the sands, turning his head left and right almost fast enough to get whiplash. MINE! MINE! WHERE ARE YOU?!

The Weyrleader bit his lip, as he was sure many were doing, and bowed his head to hope with all his might for the best. No valiant brownrider cameo was going to save anyone from this dragon. He was distraught, disoriented and probably unaware of just how much damage he was about to do. Be safe, kids, D'astel thought to himself. The blue, to him, seemed a lost cause.

Spinning around, the dragonet didn't notice Panata until he was much closer. Too much closer.
NO! Terrified eyes, a blended color of yellow, orange and red, locked on the candidate. The blue took a defensive stance, then lunged at him, clawing Panata up both sides. His goal was not to kill, just to get away. This was not His!

Panata would be hurt, severely so, but he would live. For that he should thank his lucky stars, for not all were so lucky. Another boy was run over, one claw catching his shoulder and another his throat. This boy, too, had fallen, but he would not rise until the healers carted his corpse off later.

MINE! MINE! WHERE ARE YOU?!

Using his broken arm as a sheild Arolon threw caution to the wind and approached the blue even as he started slashing people up. He was sure one boy was dead, his throat cut open. "Am I your mine? Am I he?" He asked, ready for anything while he tried to dodge the claws. "Shh, calm down, you will find YOURS! Keep searching!" He encouraged.

Sellae watched Panata fall to the sands, closing her eyes. "Calm down." she whispered quietly. "It's alright, they are here, somewhere." She repeated what she had told the small egg, so frightened. "Be brave, and Yours will be with you soon." I hope.

She didn't move, eyes fixed on the corpse of the Candidate that had fallen after Panata.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 10, 2009 6:26 pm

Trista clenched her eyes shut with pain as Panata was savaged and another boy killed outright knowing it was not the hatchlings fault but wishing the blue would find his and this hatching could end.

When the moment passed she opened her eyes. It wasn't safe to keep them closed with a terrified blue on the sands.

Amoreth

PostPosted: Sat Oct 10, 2009 6:26 pm

The blue took the first life of the evening after finishing with poor Panata.
Amoreth watched on, her expression setting into one of determination as their emerald surfaces locked firmly on the blue.
"Calm."
The word was broadcast from her to the creature as she took three steps back to rejoin the ranks of the females. She tried to impress upon him the fact that, should he not get ahold of himself and stop panicking, that he would find his and have no reason to fear any longer.

She looked over at the boys, searching their faces as if she herself could help the blue find His amongst them. They hadn't time to worry about wounded people--this Dragon was dangerously close to sending himself Between, and that would be a sorry loss, as his was probably here--possibly too scared to step forward now for fear of the creature hurting him or her.
