Ako was saddened by the exchange between Gidget and her creation, but something, either his exhaustion or his pride, wouldn't let him cry. He stopped and turned to look towards the dome. "Hey, '79." He called, not knowing if the robot would still be listening. "Thank you. Thank you for all the help." With that, he turned back and kept walking towards the elevator, the Tesla Cannon bumping against his knee with every step, reminding him it was still in his cargo pocket.

Tansy nodded with a smile and set Annie down on her feet. She looked around and frowned when she heard they only had ten minutes to get out of the building. And frowned even more when she heard Annie talk about going home. "No. We can't go back to the Hotel. Charles could find us there. We need to find somewhere else to stay. And fast."

Gidget says weakly, "We can go to my brother's house. It's not a very big place, but he wont mind us staying there for a few days to figure things out."

Tansy looked back at the younger girl and nodded. "If you really think he won;t mind. But I think it would be better if we don't tell him to much." She walked to the elevator and pushed the up button. "Until we know where Charles is, we can't be to careful."

Annie sighed leaning against the wall, closing her eyes, "It would be safest probably to leave town entirely. Then again, that would be just running away. I have a bad feeling that Mr. Ray will continue to look for us no matter where he goes, especially considering all the damage some of us has done."
As she stood there waiting for the elevator she thought to herself, though, she had suggested getting out of town she didn't want to. If they ran away it would be just like letting Charles Ray win, and Annabella Soulsmith hated to lose. Anyhow, she had things to do, she wanted to go back to her classes, continue with work at the library, she couldn't stand the idea of putting her life on hold because of some evil power hungry sociopath.

The elevator door slides open without any notice of it's arrival. Gidget points to the panel on the inside, "Get me close to that. I'll link with the system and tell it to allow us to use the elevator."
At the top floor office, Charles Ray limps out of his private emergency elevator toward his desk. They had ruined everything, those damned kids. He was going to make sure that they pay for this. He lifts a small pen dispenser on his desk (which didn't actually have pens in it) to reveal a small red button. Always a fan of unnecessary theatrics, he depresses the button with a maniacal laugh.
Downstairs the foundry suddenly quiets and halts. The eyes of all the androids along the walls light up. They begin to converge on the teenagers slowly.
Garret turns around at the sudden silence. When his eyes lay upon the zombie like robots moving in on them they widen with surprise and dismay. His heart sinks as he asks, "Hey Gidget, what's going on with the elevator?"
Gidget's eyes are closed, her hand on the key reader. Her brow is knit in concentration. "Something's wrong...the system is resisting my power. I-I don't know if I can make it work." Her voice becomes shaky and afraid. Her friends have come so far to save her, and now at the time when she's supposed to return the favor she doesn't have the strength to do it.

Annie took a deep breath, and pointed towards the stairs, "There are always the stairs. In case of a fire or, in this case robots being run by an evil sociopath, you can always use the stairs. Ako, you get Gidget out of here, I'll stall the droids while you guys leave. I really don't feel like taking a bunch of flights of stairs. Gidget is the only one who's powers he can use right away."
She took a deep breath, clenched her fist and turned to meet the androids converging slowly on them. "I'll be more than enough to stop them," she said running ahead, "Garret, send some spikes flying at these guys and that'll more than enough get me started."
Annie had a feeling that this would be the last fight she could manage for a while, but if she could use the last of her energy at the moment to stop these droids and allow for her friends to escape that way enough. She knew she would just slow them down on the steps, as she didn't have the energy to run the steps as quickly as she normally would. Of course, if she was left behind Charles Ray would have her in his clutches, but her powers would be useless to him for a good while. Anyhow, she'd be sure to be a pain in Charles Ray's side when he did capture her. After all, it was pretty hard to stop the corrosive power of hydrochloric acid.

Gidget shakes her head hysterically, "We don't have time to take the stairs. We have less than eight minutes to get out of here before Alpha goes critical."
Almost as if to further demoralize them, something rises up from the steel floor. It's a robot that look identical to Alpha, except in black plating. On it's breastplate are the numbers 0080. It's head turns toward the group, and it's start tearing through the other androids to get to them.
Garret swears aloud as he throws out his arms and puts up a wall of ice between them and the androids. He stumbles backwards into the elevator out of breath. "Damnit, I don't have much left, and that wont hold them for long."
Gidget's eyes go wide with a brainstorm. She grabs Ako's collar and looks him square in the eyes. "Ako, I need you to send a charge through me into the panel. That should be enough to override whatever it is that's fighting me."

"Are you sure?" Ako asked. He had just used his power to destroy, he didn't know if he could stand the thought of ending a jolt through the girl, especially when she was this weak. He realized there was probably no other way, but he still hated the idea. He waited until she was ready, and on her signal would give her a jolt.

Gidget maintains her hold on his eyes and places her hand on the key reader again. She laughs nervously and says, "Just a little one. It doesn't need much. At the same time it has to me more than just a little static shock. I believe in you Ako, I know you can do it." She closes her eyes and tenses up a little, preparing herself for a sensation she has never come close to feeling before.

Ako nodded and paid special attention to how much of a charge he built up. All of his other shots had not limit, he just wanted to get the job done. He hadn't had the need to be careful. Now he had to work to control his power, or else risk killing the person they risked their lives to save. He closed his eyes and focused before sending the jolt into Gidget.

Gidget cries out in surprise as the electricity that courses through her body. She bares her teeth and concentrates on her power. She commands the system to give into her demand and allow them to use the elevator. The "system" screams back at her and complies. The elevator dings and asks that a floor be chosen.
Gidget coughs a little smoke-ring and looks up at Ako with tired eyes. "That was...`electrifying`." She gives a nervous little laugh and passes out in his arms.
In his office, Charles is almost salivating at the idea of those kids getting torn apart by the machines their little friend had designed. His delight is short lived though, when the collection of security monitors start to display contorted images. He gets closer to see what the problem is, cursing under his breath at the missed opportunity. He taps on one of the monitors and the entire collective of them explode in a fury of sparks, glass, and plastic.
A-0080 punches a hole through Garret's ice wall and glares at the teens like Jack Torrence on a rampage. Garret hears the ding and calls out to Tansy and Annie, "Hey, Gidget fixed the thing. Get your butts in here so we can go home!"

Tansy turned and nodded. "Come on!" She called to Annie. "Live to fight another day?" She laughed softly as she quickly turned and made her way into the elevator. She didn't like the idea of leaving the city either. This was just as much their home as anyone elses. Why should they have to leave?

((Hey everyone, I need to let you know that I'm going away starting tomorrow for five days and I won't be able to get online. Sorry guys. But I get to meet my soon-to-be husband's family and they live out in no-mans-land and only have a dail-up that takes days to load one page! I shall return on the 27th of this month!!! Annie nodded rushing to the elevator, relieved that she didn't have to stay there as a sacrifice, and slides into the elevator, before slumping down on the floor. It really looked like they would be able to escape...
