Umiko gargled and went under the water, popping back up moments later. "Helwp!"
Candramus grumbled as the sun was blotted out and sat up, removing the thing from his face. "What have we here..."

She swept the small pony up in her arms and swam to the surface, holding him above the water. "Hello."
Topanga stared at him with wide eyes for a moment then giggled.

Umiko gulped in air. "Thwanks Mommy!"
He tilted his head at the small baby. "Where did you come from, little one?"

Topanga proudly pointed upward.
"Mommy?" Zulimar blinked as she gently towed the child toward the shore.

"From the sky, eh?" Candramus looked up. "What a large fall...Are you ok?"
Umiko nodded. "You're supposed to be my mommy. That's what the stork said."

She nodded rapidly then crossed her eyes as she got dizzy. "I wanded on a soft daddy!"

There was a gulp that came from Candramus. "Daddy? You have to be mistaken. I have no children..."
Umiko nodded. "You know...when a mommy and a daddy love each other, the stork brings them babies. You love daddy and he loves youl, so you got babies!"
Jala wandered out of the bushes, smiling. "It's supposed to be fun to have kids!" He had Zulimar's cheery smile, which was the only reason Candramus conceded to the fact that these small beings must be right.

"Mommy!" Topanga squealed, scrambling to break free from Candramus so she could glomp the mer that approached them.
"We... did want a family, yes?" Zulimar asked Candramus, with an amused smile. She was unconcerned about whether or not the children would be welcomed. She would love them with all her heart and the best of her abilities.

Candramus nodded, "We did. Look, this one has your smile, Zulimar." He ruffled Jala's mane affectionately.
Umiko clung to Zulimar possessively, sticking her tongue out at Topanga. "Mine."
Jala grinned and pounced on Candramus. "Then I get this one!"

"No fair! I want one," Topanga pouted.
Jamarion creeped out of... somewhere... and sniffled. "I don't gots a mommy or daddy?"
"Of course you do," Zulimar cooed, making herself comfortable in the shallows. She kept a firm yet gentle hold on Umiko.

Candramus pulled the boy in for a hug. "Yes you do. You have me and your mother. But you have something even better, a brother and sisters."
Umiko giggled in the water, tracing a scale on Zulimar. "Does this come off?"
Jala grinned and pounced on Jamarion, laughing. "I'll share!"

With a grin, Topanga joined in on the Jamarion sandwich.
Jamarion squeaked.
"Not often," Zulimar answered Umiko with a chuckle.

Jala elbowed Jamerion..."I say we pile on Topanga now!"
Umiko nodded, "If one falls off, can I have it? I think they're pretty."
Candramus sighed, "Be easy on your siblings, Jala, and you, Umiko, be easy on your mother. She needs to keep those scales, not get rid of them."

"Yes daddy," Jamerion said, meekly. Before pouncing his sister.
"It's alright, Candramus," Zulimar chuckled. "Yes, little one, the next time I shed, I'll let you keep one."

Umiko squealed, "Yay! Thank you Mommy!!" She looped her arms around Zulimar's neck and kissed her cheek.
Candramus shook his head, "As long as it's ok with your mother..."
