Kirai's eyes widened, the blue within them reflecting the moon light which fell between the red leaves of the tree. Bowing her head, she then stood up and walked along to where the mossy root Nature had pointed out stood idle. Once under the tree, a great peace seemed to fill Rosette... She sat down politely and with gracefully, and just as she did so, a white rose fell into her lap. Kirai hesitated at first, but then picked it up and gently examined it in her hands, running her fingers across the soft petals. The contrast between her own figure, dressed entirely in black, and the pure white of the rose amazed her for some reason. Where as the white rose reflected the light, she seemed to consume it...

Reaching out and picking up a few of the roses in white and pink which had fallen, Kirai set to work on weaving them together. Her fingers worked quickly and efficiently, not bruising a single petal or breaking a single stem. Then, she noticed the roses had no thorns. While still working, Kirai forced her eyes to look up and to her side at Nature. Nature was stunningly beautiful, and looking at her, Rosette could not turn away. In her heart, she wanted to say, Then please, tell me what is expected of me, so I can do as you wish... So that I might take what you have given me, and use it to give something to you in return. However, she remained silent. Her lips, which were as pink as the roses, remained pressed gently together as to not yet speak until it was requested of her.

A soft peeling laugh came from the goddess, her wreath set upon the root.. and vanishing into the wood with a soft pulse of magic. Her head lifted, eyes meeting Kirai's as she said kindly. " Your eyes speak when your lips do not, my Priestess.. and you are correct, tis time you learned your place in this world." lifting a shard of the tree's bark she kissed it, placing it back where it had been on the tree.. and watched as it rejoined with the tree's surface. When she spoke, it was quietly.. pride thick in her voice. " We give peace to the innocent, help them pass away."

" Long ago it was appointed to wolves to watch the balance of nature, and it was so that i became their patron.. As a priestess of my court, you must honor those that die of natural death.. help them accept their passing and sooth their fears. you shall do this by praying here, and weaving wreaths for the children afraid to pass on. This tree is a link between our realms, and shall tell you the name of the child or rare adult that needs your prayers." upon saying this she stroked the healed bark, looking up at the leaves affectionately. " take a section of bark from the tree, and read the name it gives.. think of peace as you weave them their wreath. It is important to return the bark once you are done, Rosette.. only you can take the bark off the tree, and if it is not returned it can damage the soul you pray for. You will know if a soul is rotten when you read the name.. if it happens, place the bark on a stone away from the tree and my messenger will collect it."

Kirai nodded her head and paused, placing her hand softly against the trunk of the tree. The bark was rough, yet soft against her fingers... The negative feelings and hurt of those who had passed was almost too much for her, and she pulled her hand away. "...If I were to have died, and what was of my personality had been my soul... Do you suppose my soul would of been 'rotten'?" Rosette asked with a soft chuckle, offering a sad and almost translucent smile. It sounded like small talk, however... it was a question that had nagged upon her for a long time. Every time she thought she had found her answer, something occurred and she reacted in a way that, once all was said and done... Kirai was left once again questioning the truth of her inner nature.

" Your soul is intact, though it is fraying at the edges." Nature answered softly, curling a hand through her hair thoughtfully. " What makes people rot, their soul fade, is to murder for pleasure.. to allow hatred and fear eat away what light is in your soul. if you feel guilt or reject who you are, your soul dies and you turn hateful.. you start to poison those around you with doubts and hurt." her gaze gentled as she smiled at Kirai, placing a hand over her own heart. " you have worn many a persona, child.. murdered others and have been betrayed by your beloved. Remeber these things, for they shape you. feel no doubt in this, you are a hand maiden of Death.. Tis your place to kill and sooth the dead."

Kirai again nodded, and finished making the wreath of roses. She raised it to her nose and closed her eyes. "To no longer concern myself with good and evil... and to only concern myself with your will... Yes, that makes living a much easier task to attend to." She opened her eyes. "...thank you, for answering me."

" I will do so as i am able, or feel like." her image shifted, golden flecks falling to dust the root she had sat upon as her voice faded away. " When you finish here, take a few leaves with you. feed them to one you care for, and i shall watch over them." with this she left her, her work given.

When she left, Kirai pondered over her words. 'Feed them to the one you care for, and I shall watch over them....' "........."

An hour later, Kirai was still at work with the souls. Except she didn't treat it like sorting papers.... Each soul was different, with it's own story, it's own motives, it's own life... She weaved and helped the souls to rest as Nature had requested of her. No matter how much bark she took care of, there always seemed to be more. It's amazing.... to see such a visual representation of how many people die. Letting out a sigh, she looked upon the ground. Even more roses had fallen, to the point she could not see the earth beneath the tree any longer. Scooping them up, she started weaving them into wreaths.

As her fingers worked, memories she had long since forgotten began to surface. The time that Lily fell and injured her and Edward's unborn child, and Kirai healed him. And the time when Kirai and Avarice took in Dimitri, and all the memories of being with him as a child. Sweet memories.... now seemed almost as if they were just lucid dreams. These memories and thoughts calmed her, and allowed her to weave peace into the crowns of roses. Within her mind, Rosette avoided the bad memories concerning the longing for motherhood and necromancy performed on children almost with ease. Those things filled her with regret... Regrets and terrible emotions and temptations she didn't want to pass along to the dead children in wait, who needed comfort more than anything else.

Salazar sulked through the graveyard, trying to keep in a good mood. It was difficult though, after the day he had. As he passed by each headstone he took note of what they said. They were good for a few laughs, how vain people felt of themselves. But one grave stuck out, especially it's marking. It was Edward's old grave, the one he had helped dig up to resurrect him. The tombstone read ' A leader pure of heart, and a loving friend'. "Ha, loving friend. he sure did take that literally." Salazar spat, eying the blasted thing. Just staring at it was infuriating him. "You should be dead...I should have ended it. I should have killed you when I had the chance. I wanted you back. Because I thought you were my friend. But you screwed me over." The tattoo on his arm was squirming like mad. Jerking and writhing about. Finally the fury reached his peak and the entire grave blasted open in an enormous inferno. Fire flung across the sky, twisting up in a frenzy. All of his anger and hate let loose in a pillar of fire. Then with a simple snap of the fingers, it was over. The fire flowed back into his body and then there was only silence. Edward's headstone was charred beyond recognition. Sal gave it a tap and it crumbled away into dust. He sighed and sat next to the remnants of the grave."Well, that did nothing for me."

Kirai sensed the fire. She finished weaving the last rose into a crown, and stood up from her place. Even as she left from under the tree, that sense of peace still echoed within her. Kirai saw Salazar standing where Edward's old grave was... well, now, use to be. She looked at it, and at him, with a silent look that was somewhere between shock, sadness, and empathy. "What did... you want it to do for you?" She asked quietly, moving her hand up to her mouth.

The hair on his neck raised as he stood up, keeping his back to her. "You, of all the people I don't want to talk to. You're at the very top." His hand tightened on the grip of his claw. Hoping that maybe it would see blood by the end of the night.

"....." Kirai looked away from him. "...Take out your anger and frustrations upon me. I'm the one who raised Edward, I'm the one who got you involved in such a mess. You have every right..." She turned away from him, and began walking away. "To make another attempt at my life." She read his mind without even trying... Actually, Rosette did not need to pry into his mind to tell what he was feeling. That desire to kill... was something she knew all too well. Her current state of mind felt odd to her, almost like how she was so long ago... But it was a state of being that she could not seem to shake off.

" Im close to the second that list, im sure." Penelo murmered, steping lightly to Salazars side and leaning against his shoulder slightly.. both a silent question and a reassurance. her gaze wondered to Kirai and it widened, a flicker of recognition lighting her eyes before they became guarded again.. her tone soft as she asked curtly. " Do not offer that, please.. i may take you up on it if he does not." A part of her was ill at the words, rejecting the idea.. but she ment them. It made her sick just thinking about attacking this woman.. but she had had enough, they would not be allowed to torment him further.

Salazar was slightly shocked at Jackie's being there. But he didn't pull away form her, instead he smiled slightly and loosed his grip on the claw. "She's right, no need to kill anyone just yet. It's too lovely of a night."

".......I'll inflict pain upon whomever I please." Kirai bit her lip. Then, she paused. "....I would dare the two of you to even try to kill me." Her voice was ice cold, and once again, for a split moment... sounded dead. Turning her head back towards them, she said cooly, "I hope the two of you have a very lovely evening." With a slight bow, all the peace left her, and she could not even verbalize how angry she was. Instead, she forced herself to keep on walking away, slowly and with good pace... although her legs were trembling with the desire to turn around and slit both of their necks.

" Then find anothers' pain to savor, you'll not have his." Kirai was controling herself.. Penelo had no such restraint, her form shifting as she took a few painful steps forward.. shifting into a red-gold mountain lion and pauseing, eyes narrowed as if to insure Kirai truely was departing.
