During the start of the lull Westren had mostly stood still. Unless the eggs were dead he knew that they would have to hatch, sooner or later. It was just a matter of time. Normally he was quite good at waiting, but shortly before the small egg began to rock Westren began to shift from foot to foot, feeling too anxious and excited to stand still. He was about to search the Stands for his sister when the small egg to finally start to shudder.

Hearing a question, Westren allowed his gaze to briefly be drawn from the egg to the boy next to him. “ I suspect it’s a Green. It’s quite small, after all.”

"Haha." N'tos chuckled at that description that so aptly described the darling green. "Asceth takes it a bit better, but he always wants to help them out there. Too bad he isn't a healer." N'tos tsked, wholehearted believing that if Asceth had been born human, he would have been a healer.

The joke had him fastening a smile, tilting his head back to look at the stands. "Ah." He raked a hand through his hair, wondering how catastrophic that would be. "Sands, or stands, no place will be safe." He joked, although that wasn't something he wanted to see.

Asceth saw the grin, warbling out some sort of croon, before responding backa to Ianquith. Mines told me they have people for that. They will help, yes. He moved closer to the little green, taking the initiative of allowing her to huddle closer. He didn't like to see his sister dragon scared, no he did not!

The teenage male waved off the thanks; he should be the one that was glad to see J'riar in the stands. "No prob. I'll get Asceth here more often, if it soothes your nerves. See, he gets along with her quite well!" He pointed at the brown, who surrounded the little green with his presence.

"What color d'you think the new egg is?" N'tos asked casually, just idly speculating.

The egg shivered, shuddered, but still took its time until the shell finally spit. A small green dragon spilled onto the sands with a bit of a squawk, her nose almost completely buried before she managed to sit up with a silly, confused expression. Despite her tiny size, she was stocky, squat and powerful legs trembling slightly before they heaved her up on her feet. Her eyes were blue even as she stared out at the Candidates, and after a moment, she let out a cheerful little trill as though saying hello.

Clumsily, the little green stumbled and tripped her way across the grounds to weave into the Candidates. She didn't really seem to have a goal in mind, chirping, snorting, and snuffling at boys and girls alike while waddling here and there. Well! Wasn't this lovely--all these people looking just at her! It was clear the baby couldn't have been more happy at the prospect.

Some of the wounded boys and girls would be snuffled at a bit more closely, even nudging at them a bit with their nose to make sure they were still standing! But once she was satisfied, she went back to her wandering, clearly not in any rush to make up her mind.

"And you're right!" Selachii grinned at Westren, pleased. "You've got an eye, and she's adorable, isn't she?" His voice was warm with gleeful excitement, and he beamed. "Tiny, and friendly." He wanted to greet her back after that cheery little noise, too. "Bet Hers'll be happy, huh?" The last was a little wistful. He'd come into this without a preference, after all.

It was all Inaari could do to not pet that little green head as it passed her. It was important to not really interact with the dragons until you were Chosen to interact with them, as it had already been proven by that stupid girl. The nose tickled lightly as it snorted air past the teen, and the manner reminded her so quaintly of J'ri's Ianquith that she just had to smile!

The little green was just a beacon of hope for any of the remaining eggs, that there perhaps wouldn't be any more danger on the sands! It was the best thing any of them could ask for, ignoring the glory of Impression, of course!

Firyal smiled with a combination of relief and genuine good cheer when she saw the stocky dragonet make her way toward the Candidates. The green certainly seemed to possess a pleasant nature, though she didn't seem particularly decisive. Or maybe she just wasn't interested in making a choice yet. There was nothing to be done to force a dragonet to Impress, Firyal knew. Still, it was interesting that the green managed to convey an attitude of good-natured concern toward those Candidats - Firyal included - who had been mistreated at the claws of her clutchmates. Whomever Impressed this dragon would probably have one of the most pleasant dragons in the Weyr. It was hard to believe she was even related to fiery Cheoth and her gold daughter.

The slim teen watched the small Shetland egg anxiously, but breathed a sigh of relief as the Green dragonet that had hatched from it wasn't as rowdy as her siblings. Actually, she seemed to be quite sweet and, in his opinion, adorable, especially with her trill of a hello. Good, he hoped that was the end of the more violent hatchlings. That had been enough maulings to last them until the next Pass, surely.

He couldn't help but smile as the stocky little Green ambled around to study them all, inwardly hoping the same thing that likely every Candidate was pining for.

Veyes grinned just a little. He couldn't help himself because this green was adorable beyond many of her brothers and sisters tonight - friendly and cheerful...sweet as a could be. He tried not to giggle and covered his mouth as she scooted by sniffing and chirping. What a wonderful surprised amidst the chaos of earlier.

He grinned at Ren and relaxed sure that this one wasn't going to maul anyone. Maybe cuddle a candidate to death but certainly not hurt.

Zafir held his breath, and felt every muscle in his body suddenly tighten to the point of pain as the little green dragon sniffled her way towards him. But, just as she had done with the various others she'd passed, the girl tottered past him as well. The weaver tried to lift his had, to bite on the knuckles more than likely, only to realize it was being clung to by an over excited Raedue.

"Do all greens like to take their time and study everyone individually?" He asked, truly curious. Theese two were the only greens he'd ever seen impress, after all, but their tactic for searching out a bondmate seemed too similar for coincidence, even if it was obvious that this one was not the dainty little lady her sister had been.

Some how Rom found herself holding her breath with her brother as the egg rocked and the precious little green spilled out, nose shoved in sand.
It was so cute! She smiled slightly. "Isn't she cute...you know the little one reminds me of you. No clear plan, just stumbing about."

'Rish snorted, watching the little dragon as she payed a bit more attention to the wounded. "Are you staying I'm clumsy?"

"Maybe."

"Want to make a bet? I think this little one going to choose a boy."

Rom arched a brow. "Mm, I think female. Are you going to tell me what we are playing for?" She questioned before sighing as 'Rish just gave her that secret infurating smile. "Fine."

Ollen let out a deep hearty laugh at the sweet little greens antics, what a sweet little thing! She felt relieved that this dragon was not a raging baby. She noticed one of the other candidates had been sitting down, even dozing before, and that did not seem safe with how this long hatching had started. Ollen inhaled and watched as she checked on specific candidates and continued moving on between them.

"What a sweet little thing, another fantastic change of pace from some of her clutchmates," especially the queen, Ollen shuttered thinking about the violence of that dragonet.

M'rik smiled, watching the newest little Dragon a bit more lovingly than he could help. She seemed incredibly sweet, who wouldn't enjoy her? Not as sweet as you, never, but doesn't she look nice? Hasufeth's eyes wheeled a bit and he let out a curious squawk. She won't talk to me, Mine. She's still alone. I was scared; I didn't like when I couldn't see you, Mine. But she's not afraid.
M'rik leaned forward and wrapped his arms around the Blue, looking towards the eggs with his chin on Hasufeth's shoulder. You were afraid? I don't believe you. The Dragonet snorted, and he chuckled a little. But I swear I'm not going anywhere again.

She was a pleasant little thing, but the young man couldn't keep his mind on the Hatching as keenly as he had before. It just didn't feel pressing now, and with Hasufeth always sharp in his mind... he didn't feel the need for want ever again. The eggs were entertainment and well-wishes to his friends, not anything as dearly important as the bony, heavy, squirming boy in his arms. I'm not bony, Mine. You're just squishy.

Pendra giggled and grinned. Yep you're one for the attention, she thought sending thoughts of welcome and affection in the green's direction. She was just the bubbling spirit that was needed to bring this hatching back to the proper mindset. Still like her siblings she seemed to be taking her time looking everyone over, or maybe she knew and was just soaking up the attention...

Oh Faranth, how could she not coo over that sweet little darling? From her position up in the Stands, Vera watched the dragonet with baited breath. She hoped that the tiny size was not indicative of some sort of trauma the little one had received in the egg, and that it was simply a normal size for a Green. She, of course, had never seen one before. "Oh Marko, Xer... look at that tiny dragonet!" S'van was busy with O'asis, and Vera had no intentions of pestering him at the moment. Not when all she wanted to do was croon over the cuteness of a baby. ... He would not be terribly amused.

There were so many likely Candidates out on the Sands, surely one of them would catch the dragonet's eye. Surely she would once again witness the heart touching moment of Impression. She smiled slightly, already adding to the composition she was mentally compiling about the Hatching. It wasn't important to jot down, of course, but she couldn't quite resist the opportunity. Really, young dragons were quite fascinating and multi-faceted. The behavior of this hatchling was far, far different than her earlier clutch-sibs.

Goran recoiled slightly with surprise as the baby stopped to investigate his legs, clearly not expecting a Hatchling to be so interested--not after that sharding brown. She just seemed... friendly, somehow, very cheerful as she ambled about and poked her little nose into everyone's business. He'd relaxed despite himself, and was now watching to see who she would choose.

"A healer, eh? Now now, don't count him out, he could be the very first of his kind!" J'riar seemed amused by the statement, and was about to mull over the the color of the egg before Asceth's croon distracted him. "See? Perfect people-person...dragon." And then the little egg had split, and the greenrider watched with a slight croon of his own at the darling little green that spilled forth. "Shards, look at her. If I had to guess, I'd say green." All right, that was a bit cheeky, but come on.

Oh... Yes, as long as they are helped. Ianquith started uncertainly, then fluttered her wings with flattered pleasure before scooting herself closer to Asceth. She felt more comfortable with another, though did perk brightly as the green spilled onto the sand.

Oh! Oh, she is well-behaved. Approval radiated through her tone, and Ianquith crooned her encouragement aloud for all to hear.
