Naminé didn't look over at Riku as he sat beside her; she kept her eyes closed and continued playing the piano. Though she didn't look over, she knew all too well who it was. Riku's arm was barely touching her own and his voice cut through the notes echoing in the room as he spoke. Opening her eyes, she looked down at the keys instead of him due to the fact she was still playing the instrument. And she knew that when she looked at him, she'd get distracted and probably end up making a few mistakes.

"Yes. I'm sorry about this morning," Naminé replied in a gentle tone. The petite blonde hesitated a few moments, the only sound in the room coming from that of the instrument she was playing. Slowly, she began again. "It's just..." The girl cut off, unsure of how to continue. A soft sigh escaped her lips and as she gathered her thoughts, the teacher called out to her, saying that he was very impressed with her and that she could stop. Naminé's hands stopped moving and she pulled them back, placing them on her lap. After a moment, she stood up from the piano bench and looked down at Riku. Reaching out with a hand, she grasped his arm lightly and gave him a gentle tug, silently telling him to go back to their seats. The petite blonde walked past the teacher and made her way to the back of the class, where she slid into her chair, still trying to figure out what to say to Riku.

Naminé's crystaline eyes flickered over to Riku as the boy sat in the seat beside her, placing his hand in his hand. The girl gave a soft sigh and lowered her eyes. She still didn't know what to say...

"You act like you're still alone. Like you're the one that has to protect us all." The words had leapt unbidden from her lips and she was surprised at herself. She hadn't meant to put it all that way. Yet she continued with it. "You still run off on your own to face the darkness, like you don't know or fully understand that we're all with you. You don't have to run off on your own, Riku!" Naminé fell silent, and lightly bit her lower lip. Tears prickled at the edges of her eyes but she blinked them back. She wasn't extrememly sad or anything like that it was just she'd been so worried about Riku; she hadn't known whether or not he was alright until this morning when she saw him.

"A-and I know it's just who you are, Riku. But..." Her voice had trembled a bit and the tears threatened to leak over but the girl hurriedly wiped her eyes before they could spill down her cheeks. Instead of finishing her earlier sentance, she took a shaky breath and started again. "I'm scared. Not because there's Darkness on Destiny Islands again. But because I'm afraid you'll get hurt. You asked me yesterday where we stand... and I want to be with you, Riku. I know I can't make you promise to never run off by yourself again because it's a part of who you are and I don't want you to change."

Here, the girl paused and her eyes flickered up from the desk and over to Riku. She met eyes with him and her voice -- which had already been quiet so no one could hear -- became even softer. "Just... promise me that no matter what happens, you'll do your best to come back. Promise me you'll come back, Riku. Please..." Naminé's tone was pleading and her eyes shone with unshed tears as she looked into Riku's deep teal ones. Her eyes said the things she hadn't said aloud. How worried she was for him, how much she really cared. How it would kill her if he didn't ever manage to come back...

It was only when Riku promised to come back that Naminé let out a breath she hadn't even known she'd been holding. The petite blonde attempted to give Riku a small smile and she managed it. "Thank you," she said quietly, her voice still slightly shaky with emotion. About a second after she'd spoken, Riku leaned in and his lips brushed against her's. Surprise flit across her features before she closed her eyes and found herself kissing him back.

And then the teacher called on him. Naminé opened her eyes and sat back in her seat, dropping her gaze to the desk. Her cheeks had turned a brilliant, rosy red as she was blushing like crazy. Riku had... kissed her. The petite blonde's eyes were slightly wide and she reached up with a shaking hand, placing her fingers against her lips for a moment before placing her hand back in her lap. Naminé looked over at the silvernette once the teacher had looked away from them and had gone to go pick on some other students. A small, sincere smile played upon her pale lips and she reached out and put a hand over his. "Thank you, Riku. Really." The girl said. Of course she'd still be worried about Riku whenever he left, but she felt better with the knowledge that the silvernette would do everything within his power to find his way back.

Lakayna looked up from her drawing when she heard the teacher call her name, asking her to answer a question. She answered it to the best of her ability, before her eyes flitted to the clock on the wall by the door. Just half an hour to go. It surprised the young dragon girl, but second period was going by faster than it had seemed yesterday. It could be Lux's doing, or it could just be because Lakayna wasn't look at the clock face every thirty seconds. Lunch would be here after one more period. She'd be able to talk to Namine then. Lakayna wondered how she'd be able to explain it. It could help if she got to "know" Namine better first (know, as in learn more about the girl's past). It would make Lakayna feel more comfortable talking with the girl.

When the bell finally rang for second period, Hikari gathered up her things and made her way to her Japanese class. As they sat down and started practicing their hiragana, Hikari was still thinking about what she was going to do when the time came to explain to Riku who she was. Was he going to come alone? Or would he bring someone with him? She prayed that he wouldn't. That might only complicate things. And, should she just tell him, or make him 'earn' it? Well, she had until the end of school to figure it out.

Sora waited intently for Axel's reply, but it never came. The brunette was surprised when the bell rang, and he barely noticed Riku wave to him. Wait a second, hadn't Riku talked to him? Crap. He missed that totally. He shook his head as he stood up and grabbed his bag.
"See ya later Axel," he told him as he left the room. Something in Riku's tone and body language had him concerned. Something seemed to be bothering him, or more than one thing. He'd have to ask him about it in their next class together, which was English right? Or during lunch, if he could find him.

Sora wandered down the hall quickly, right to his Biology class. He was finally glad Donald and Goofy had bettered his navigation skills when they'd been off saving the worlds. It certainly helped at school. He walked in his classroom and spotted Kairi in the same seat she'd been in the day before. She looked somewhat sad, but he didn't let it affect his greeting.
"Hey Kairi!" he said brightly, setting his back next to the seat he was sitting in, which was conveniently close to the crimsonette. "Sorry I took off yesterday. Stupid school rules. What's up?" He didn't want to get into detail unless she asked. He wanted to hear more about what had happened yesterday, and unfortunately Axel hadn't been too much help with that. He kicked himself mentally for not talking to Riku.

Sora's attention from Kairi was broken as the chair next to him screeched on the floor as someone pulled it out. He turned to see a boy with long silver hair sit next to him. He wasn't Riku, but that's about all he could tell. He was completely covered in bandages, and the brunette had to concentrate on his own face to make sure he didn't gawk. He swallowed hard as the boy spoke to him, trying his best not to make a shocked face.

That must not have worked, however, as the tone in the boy's voice grew sad and he asked if he was bothering him.
"Oh no! Of course not!" Sora blurted, flabberghasted. "I'm just... curious. You sure have a lot of bandages. What happened?" He remembered that the boy had asked him a question about class. But he'd spent all of yesterday talking to Kairi, so he really didn't know what the plans for class were. He just continued to look the boy over and let his imagination run with the idea of what could have happened to him.
