Iri had been listening with keen ears, though she had continued to munch as she did so. When he stops talking, she's almost disappointed. She doesn't show it. Instead, she looks at Syn and tilts her head to the other side. Something seems to be on her mind, but she doesn't voice it. She just shakes her head and swallows her last bite of chicken.
"Well, the girls certainly have an interesting past. And what they can do amazes me. Makes me wonder how they manifest that way. I know someone who could make good use out of that trick."

Neko narrows his eyes for a moment and smiles before taking a drink of water and continuing.
"Energy Compression. Like I said, it's just like a shadow clone, only it's not exactly chakra. They lack physical stamina, so they only have the spirit energy component. They condense it into a shape, which would be a normal spirit. Then they go a step farther and compress it even more, to the point that it can interact with the physical world. Just like we do when we create a clone, only they do it to themselves. If they're this powerful in death, I would've hated to face their father in life. They cared about him a lot, and he must've been very powerful."
"He was very powerful, Jii-Sama."
Syn spoke between bites, nearly finished with her plate.

"Huh."
That's all Iri can say. She's tossing the idea around in her head. Forming a clone is something she's never succeeded at. For some reason, the technique eludes her. At least, it eludes her in the form of a wind clone. Something that's purely compressed energy might be different. But if it requires too much energy, then it might not work for her purposes.
Suddenly, she begins to talk again. Her eyes are distant. She's obviously not concentrating much on her surroundings.
"Did you see crows fly overhead as we were leaving your cave? One of them was my father. My grandmother switched his soul with that of the crow, and destroyed his body. I can't help but think of how happy it would make my mother to see him again."

"Hm."
Neko's expression matched Iri's for a moment, then he finished his water and stood up with a small smile.
"There are a couple of ways we could approach that, but I need to mull over which would be best. I'll take the room at the far end of the nearest hall. Thanks for the dinner.
He nodded to Iri and tugged on the back of Syn's dress as he walked out, almost hurriedly
"Come on, we can't have you causing havoc when we're guests. Goodnight, Iri."
He slowed down to politely await a response, but would quickly make his way back to an empty room afterwards.

Iri shakes her head, clearing her thoughts. Then she gives Neko a two-fingered salute. "Right-o."
She gets up to clean the mess left over from dinner. As soon as it's clean, she'll go crash on the nearest couch.
(( Gads! 3 in the morning. I didn't realize til the coffee maker started going. ))

Neko wakes up and stays in his room for a while after he wakes up, idling about and rolling ideas around in his head. He doesn't bother to wake the girls, but he does grab his armor and take it along with him outside, setting it down on the porch. After a little while of getting his bearings, he begins to go through fighting kata, switching from rigid, strong styles to flowing and smooth styles instantaneously.

Tier had already left the Main Dojo to start his investigation at the Rai Dojo. Kaimen would take care of the prisoner from here.

Nekojiri Neko wakes up and stays in his room for a while after he wakes up, idling about and rolling ideas around in his head. He doesn't bother to wake the girls, but he does grab his armor and take it along with him outside, setting it down on the porch. After a little while of getting his bearings, he begins to go through fighting kata, switching from rigid, strong styles to flowing and smooth styles instantaneously.
Suddenly, and with no warning a pit would open up under Neko's feet, followed by walls and a ceiling, reveling a dirt slide down into Kaimen's office. He was waiting there closed off from the rest of the dojo, the sound of his voice could be heard in the darkness repeating over and over in with a static tone: "Sorry to keep you waiting."

Neko slid gracefully down the chute on his feet, and landed softly in Kaimen's office with a small nod, his eyes not bothering to try and pierce the darkness.
"No, I'm sure you're a busy man. What is it you need?"

Kaimen emerged from a wall behind him. His voice was coming from an Logic based audio response machine he placed on a Bunshin while he was away. That's what Seph was talking to.
"You can imagine that I have a lot of questions."
Kaimen started, circling around Neko. The room was dark, dimly lit, Kaimen wasn't wearing his helmet.
"First and foremost. I'd like to ask if you know anything about those damn lizards."

"Hm? With feathered wings?"
Neko closed his eyes to keep them from following Kaimen in circles. He kept his shoulders back and his hands clasped loosely behind his back, in plain View when Kaimen was behind him, palms out.
"It's possible that in the upheaval a few species I brought over her may have escaped and bred. I've received reports of similar creatures, but they're generally harmless, if we're talking about the same animals."

"If harmless means that they aren't capable of attacking, yet, then I suppose we are."
Kaimen continued his pacing. In the light there were brief markings on his face, like tatoos, and places where skin wasn't. Bone was clearly visible, however, it had a luster to it, along with the purple muscle tissue surrounding it.
"What's with the new getup."
He said pointing to the armor.

Neko keeps his stance, keeping his eyes closed as Kaimen paces around him.

"And who that have previously or are newly attending the dojo have begun to rally with you and your causes?"
He stood still, back to back from Neko. The Sound of many different tsuchi elements molding and mixing together oh his body could be heard louder than usual for a few moments as his face seemed to repair itself.

"I have no causes but to continue my research undisturbed. I don't need help, nor have I asked for any. Motoko has come with me, and I've withdrawn my troops from war to form a mercenary company that she heads to fund my endeavors. There is little reason behind it other than to further my own knowledge for personal reasons. I have no intention of attacking your Academy, as it would only hinder my research."
Neko opened his eyes and looked at Kaimen, his light blue eyes glowing in the dark from the turmoil of chakra under his skin. He wasn't upset at all, he was only not keeping such a low profile anymore.
"You don't have anything to worry over from me. I will remain a neutral power no matter what happens. I will never lease my Nin to attack the Academy, or any of it's allies, and my facilities are secure."
