 Kalia picked up her pace forcing herself to run faster and faster despite the pain, she felt from the strain. She followed the scent concentrating on her nose rather then her feet. She stopped at the edge of the woods by Kia's house and her form shifted and phased back, not exactly against her will but she would definably be hard pressed to take her wolf form again. She took a few moments to breathe before she dragged back on her dress and pulled herself to her feet, with a wince, her hands and feet were bruised to a dark shade of purple and her body simply wasn't healing fast enough to keep it from looking rather painful. She walked slowly to Kia's house and knocked lightly on the back door, she didn't need more attention then she was already going to get, and she knew he was here, the scent trail had ended here.

 Kia was shocked. His mother was crying in his arms, and he didn't know why. Then the knocking on the back door caught his attention. "I'll be right back mom. When I get back, please, tell me everything..." He let her go, leading her to her chair as she sat. He didn't wait for a response from her, as he walked over to the door and cracked it open. Once he saw Kalia standing there, he was shocked. "Kalia? What are you doing here?" He opened the door for her, and all but dragged her in, looking to see if she was followed. He was rough on her arm when he grabber her and pulled her in, but he wasn't trying to be.

Kalia stumbled slightly as she was pulled in, his grip was strong and left red marks down her arms she knew would form into more brusises, she had done this to herself only one other time and she knew her body was going to be much weaker then normal for a while, "What am I doing here?" she demanded in a harsh whisper, "What are you doing here? You left me and now you come back here? Are you trying to endanger your family? Not only do we have that rouge on your tail but the Council too??"

Kia placed his hand to his head as he heard her. "I don't care. My moms a mess, and I'm sure it isn't just from me. I haven't seen Yojan yet either... where is he?" Kia's mother spoke up at this point, "Gone. Missing. I received a letter a few days after you... after I was told you had died from a disease. Yojan is being held captive... and they wanted you and only you to show up..." It was easy to see she was fighting her own tears by this point, but having Kia back seemed to renew her. "I'll... I'll get the letter...." She walked off, in search of the letter to show Kia himself. "Yojan? What?" He gave Kalia a bewildered look, then noticed the red marks on her wrists. "Oh my! Did I do that? I'm so sorry. You were suppose to rest at the hotel. I didn't want you to worry about me, so I figured I'd be out and back while you rested." He was shocked. He had hurt her so easily. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to..."

Kalia listened and sighed thankful at least the poor woman seemed sensable. She glared at Kia smacking him on the arm but her strike had little force, "I am not the one who needs worrying about..." she said slipping her arms behind her back to hide the red marks on her wrists and her torn hands, "I can help with your brother... then we can figure this all out..."
She thanked Kia's mother when she returned with both the letter and a robe, which she handed to Kalia, "Thank you..." she said quietly slipping into the robe, the cloth was thick and she was thankful for the heavy fabric and the warmth is brought her. She wrapped it snuggly around her tieing it around her slender waist; the cuffs hung past her finger tips and the hem cut off at the middle of her shins. Her nose caught a faint scent still clinging to the fabric and she recognized it as Kia's, she flushed faintly but only pulled the fabric's folds around her more securely.

"You're in need of rest, so I think I can..." Kia was whipser shouting, so his mother wouldn't hear him, but once she walked in Kia stopped talking. Instead, he glared at her, as she seemed intent on not taking proper care of herself. Kia grabbed the letter as soon as he was able to, not even noticing the bathrob that was being wraped around Kalia for the moment. He started to read, then his hand balled up the paper and he threw it across the room. "Ah! Why now?" He still needed to vent his anger on something, so he pounded the flat of his hand into the wall... litterally. He surprised himself with his strength, and stood there with a shocked look on his face. "Sorry mom..." He actually blushed a little, and then he looked over at Kalia in his bathrob. "Mom!" He looked even more shocked, and truned slightly more red. "Did you have to hand her mine?" As Kia's hand went threw the wall, Kia's mother flinched, but soon nodded to her son. "It's alright Kia dear. That is fixable." She knew what the letter had said, but picked up the note anyway and smoothed it out. At Kia's protest, his mother shook her head, "Well, yours looked to be the best fit, and I wasn't about to leave here out here in nothing but a slip!"Kia looked at Kalia with a strange look, one almost warning her to stay here this time. "Kalia, you look horrible. Why don't you rest here and leave this to me. I think you can tell mom everything you know about what has happened. I think she deserves to know." Kia started to open the door to go outside, but Kalia was still standing infront of the door. He has his hand on the knob, and was waiting for Kalia to move.

Kalia slammed her hand on the table, "Damn you! I will not be left behind! I have been fighting for longer then you have been alive!" she glared at him, "If she has a right to know she has a right to hear it from someone she trusts! You stay and I'll go look for your brother. I am a better tracker anyway..." she said her anger giving her a bit more energy, "I am not some little princess to be left behind and protected!"

Kia Glared at her, "Well, you know more of what is going on than I do. Plus..." Kia takes a finger and gently and playfully flicks her in the forehead, "You look about to fall over asleep still. I know exactly where they are, the note told me. No tracking involved." Kia's mom had something to say about Kia's attitude problem however, "Don't you be treating a lady like that! I raised you better than that young man." She now glared at Kia, and grabbed Kalia by a hand, "I'm sorry my dear for my son's awful behavior. He has always been one to want to do things on his own, for as long as I can remember."

Kalia glared at him as he flicked her forehead, "Fool!" she said, "You never trust information the enemy gives you!"
She smiled faintly at Kia's mother, "Don't worry, I'm not much of a lady..." she said, "And I am getting used to his Brainless Determination to sacrifice himself..." she slipped out of the robe and folded it gently before walking over to Kia and looking up at him, "I am going with you whether you like it or not."

"Wait? Tell me what? How long have you two been going out?" Kia's mother was very confused at this point. "We are not 'going out'. We're just friends for the moment...," Kia rolls his eye as he said this. "And Kalia, what good will you do with me? Your tired, weak, and injured still. Let me handle this. Would it make you feel any better if I told you i could trust the information? Would it help if I told you WHO the letter was from?" He had seen that girls handwriting enough in his locker letters of love to know it in a heart beat. Her hand scripting was... seemed ancient. Kia shook his head, but still had his hand on the door knob. Then he leaned over to Kalia and kissed her on the cheek quickly, "I do this because I care." Then he moved her against her own wishes and ran out the door and into the night. He was done with the debate. There was no way he could have Kalia come along in her current condition. She was barely able to even stand from the way he had moved her. If she was as strong still as when he had first met her, she would have moved him instead... or did he get stronger? He wasn't about to think too deeply into it. He had something he had to do. This was Alice he had to deal with. A normal human cheerleader. He could deal with this. He had to save Yojan.

"We're not going out." she said at the same time as Kia did which made the 'yet' stand out all the more pointedly, she flushed a light red a blend of embarassment she couldn't understand and irritation. She was a little startled when he kissed her on the cheek and didn't react fast enough when he simply picked her up and moved her out of his way and putting the door between them before she even had a chance to voice her objections. She sighed heavily leaning back against the door as much as it bothered her, he was right, she was next to useless. As much as it went against her habits to trust anyone, she felt her feet obeying his orders and taking her back to the kitchen, she slipped back on the robe and sat carefully at the dinning room table before addressing Kia's mother, "It's a long story... Are you sure you want to hear it?"

"Oh my gosh... your not pregnant, are you?" Kia's mother really didn't understand what was happening. "That would explain my son's reaction! Of course you shouldn't be exerting yourself." Kia's mother sat down in a chair opposite Kalia, "So, what is your name dear? From what I just saw, you might become part of the family, and I can just fall you dear all the time." Little did she knew, Kia did that to stall Kalia, as much as to say his true feelings about her. If he didn't return for some reason, he wanted to have given her a proper kiss... and not a sucky one, literally.

"My name is Kalia Naturai..." Kalia shook her head, "and No I'm not pregnant... that's the first time he's kissed me actually..." she said twisting her hands together as she thought, her palms a dark bruised green, several shades better then the near black they had been when she had arrived, "Someone is after Kia... someone who knew him from before his injury..." she said trying to be careful as she spoke, "I stepped in and they decided to get rid of the both of us..." she continued, "I am sorry we got you and your family involved it is my fault..." she said looking down, "And I will do what I can to try and fix it..."

Kia's Mom was set back by the facts, "What? But Kia has always been a sweet kid. He couldn't have gotten into much trouble before he was injured so badly. He might be a bit of a flirt, but he's good." She shook her head at the facts.
"And you? You're helping my son out? Whatever trouble he might be in, I thank you for what help you have given him. He seems to... have an interest in you. Don't let him go." She winked at Kalia as she said this.
"Oh my! Where are my manners. I'm sorry... the place is a mess...," it really wasn't though. "Are you hungry? Want some tea perhaps?" She was already up and moving to the stove, turning on a burner for the tea pot to boil. She was trying to stay busy, so she wouldn't worry about Kia or Yojan, but she was failing at this. Soon, with her back turned to Kalia, she was crying again.

Kalia sighed, "They think he remembers... but we both know he doesn't..." she shook her head, "I am sorry to disappoint you but I intend to let him go... as soon as this is all solved... He'll be in less danger without me around..." she said.
She smiled faintly, "Tea would be nice... thank you..." Kalia caught the faint sound of crying and rose, comfort was not something she was good at but she would try her best, "Why don't you sit down and I'll make the tea..." she said guiding Kia's mother to her chair and helping her sit.
